Regardless of how you feel about electric vehicles, there’s no denying that the instant torque a battery-powered vehicle delivers is exciting. And now, Tesla is expanding its offerings on the Model 3 with its own accessory Track package for those who want to have fun on track or just enhance the EV’s performance.
The package is a $5500 add-on and comes with performance wheels, tires, and brakes. The ultra-sticky 245-width, 35-series Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires are wrapped around 20-inch Zero-G Performance wheels. The brakes are also upgraded with front and rear high-performance brake pads. “Track focused” brake fluid also comes with the package, along with tire-pressure sensors and Tesla logo center caps.
The Model 3 Track package is only available on the Performance trim level, which comes with dual-motor all-wheel drive. Tesla says that the package will become available in April, and the cost includes installation and shipping to the service center.
Tesla has been working to make more track-oriented versions of the Model 3, including with the forthcoming Track mode V2. The manufacturer recently had YouTube users test out the new features, revealing updated V1 software that offers custom driving modes, a G-force meter, and adjustable traction control, among other features intended to enhance track performance.
