Tata Nexon EV Battery, Electric Motor Prices – Shared By Owner

Tata Nexon is the best selling electric car in India currently – It comes with a 8 years or 1.6 lakh kms warrantyTata Nexon Electric Battery PriceTata Motors is currently No 1 when it comes to electric car sales. With Nexon EV Prime, Nexon EV Max, Tigor and newly launched Tiago EV, Tata has electrified its popular 4W portfolio. This is likely to strengthen Tata’s grasp on this segment even further. Despite India being a young market for EVs, we have seen good reception for Tata’s electric products. This is reflected in sales charts and places Tata at the top spot with 82.80% of electric car market in September 2022. Majority of these sales are because of Nexon EV, which does not have a direct rival as of now. Mahindra XUV400 is coming soon to crash Nexon EV’s party.Tata Nexon EV batteryNexon EV Battery, Motor Price RevealedCompared to petrol / diesel cars, electric cars are expensive. This is largely due to the price of battery and electric motor, which are the two most expensive parts in an electric car. Recently, a Nexon EV user had taken to social media to reveal that its battery costs Rs. 7 lakh. Now another Nexon EV owner has shared the price of an electric motor. It costs Rs. 4,47,489. This is MRP for “Traction Motor Assembly”.There is no doubt that these are very expensive parts. But they are covered under warranty. Tata Nexon offers a warranty of 8 years of 1.6 lakh kms on the battery. If the battery malfunctions in this period, you will get a new battery free of cost.Nexon EV Motor Price shared by ownerNexon EV owner from Karnataka drove 68,000 km in two years. The range had reduced significantly and the car would stop when battery’s state of charge went below 15%. Since it was under warranty, Tata Motors replaced the old battery with a new one at no additional cost.Tata Nexon Electric owner reveals price of a new batteryWill Electric Car Prices Reduce?Spare parts always have a profit margin compared to what goes on the car during production. The combined cost of Tata Nexon battery and electric motor is almost Rs 11.5 lakh. That does look like a lot when considering the price of a new Nexon EV.As with dealership business models, following a big ticket purchase, i’e., a car, dealerships create earning channels through service plans. With EVs, service channels are still being developed. Another component that could play an important role is reusing batteries in their second life and third life avatars. We can hope that with time, localization will increase and due to mass manufacturing, EV component prices will come down. If that happens, we may witness a fall in EV component prices. Tata Motors has announced huge investments to increase production of their electric cars. More

New Ola Electric Car Interior Teased – Touchscreen, Steering Wheel

From the horizontal LED bar to the vertical aerodynamic winglets, upcoming Ola car gets it all in a similar fashion as Lucid AirNew Ola Electric CarOla Electric is set on an ambitious pursuit to establish itself as the de facto EV maker. When we say EV maker, we mean EVs in general and irrespective of how many wheels it comes with. Ola tops the charts when it comes to 2W EV retail sales in September 2022. Will Ola be able to pull off the same feat in 4W EV segment? Only time will tell.As of now, EV 4W segment is dominated by Tata Motors with its Nexon EV and Tigor EV. With the launch of Tiago EV, Tata Motors is likely to tighten its grip on this segment for a long time. At the price it is launching, Tiago EV even poses as a viable alternative for gasoline-powered cars as found in our in-depth analysis.Upcoming Ola Car Interior TeasedOla Electric is steering away from the part of 4W EV segment where Tata is currently dwelling and is soon to be joined by Mahindra with its XUV400. Instead, Ola will try its hand at a more premium space. Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal promises the sportiest car ever built in India. Upcoming Ola car interior has now been teased. Let’s take a look. One look at upcoming Ola car interior and it is immediately evident that Ola is going for a minimalist vibe. Most EV makers adopt this trend to make their products look futuristic. This is also an attempt to establish a certain distinction from the cars of today. I like the look of it, but the functionality, not so much.[embedded content][embedded content]Buttons and knobs trump minimalism any day of the year as found in a study. In keeping with current trends, Ola has stuck to it. Steering wheel is not exactly a wheel. In this sense, it is not exactly round. That being said, I would much prefer this over the vastly unconventional steering yoke that Tesla’s Plaid Editions get.It has a 9 to 3 positioning steering layout. On either side, we get panels with touch-sensitive controls that remind me of my Blackberry and vertical rockers as well. In the middle, we have a horn pad that houses driver’s airbag and has Ola badging on it. This Ola branding is not illuminated unlike the ones found on upcoming BE series from Mahindra.Dashboard layout is briefly teased which gets a horizontally laid out touchscreen infotainment screen. It is in line with the rectangular-ish steering wheel. Looks aesthetically pleasing, but doesn’t fall into the driver’s peripheral vision. A free-standing unit placed on top of the dash would be much more practical.New Ola Electric CarExterior DesignOla seems to have taken a lot of inspiration from Tesla Model S rivaling Lucid Air. From the horizontal LED bar, to the vertical aerodynamic winglets, upcoming Ola car gets it all in a similar fashion. On top of this LED bar, we have LED headlights that are integrated into a sleek unit. We have only been teased with digital renderings. A physical prototype model is likely to be displayed at 2023 Auto Expo. This particular teaser doesn’t divulge much info. However, our rendering artist Pratyush Raut has penned down his take on Ola’s upcoming car and is based on Ola’s past teasers. It will be a coupe-like sedan with a lot of headline figures. Batteries and designing are done in-house and all of this is a culmination of an ambitious project that Ola has put itself into. More

Mahindra Electric Pickup Truck Render – Based On New Design Language

The new family of Mahindra electric vehicles are based on a modular architecture and is estimated to have a driving range of over 400 kmsMahindra Electric Pickup Truck RenderBetween clearing up huge order backlogs of XUV700, ensuring the newly launched Scorpio N gets off on its feet smoothly, and tackling the chip shortage, Mahindra has its plate pretty much full. However, hectic day-to-day affairs doesn’t deter a big company from actively working on defining its future strategy. The Indian UV specialist took a step into a new era when they unveiled 5 new electric vehicles earlier this year. While Mahindra has been dabbling with EVs for several years now, the 5 new products could be considered as the first serious attempt to make a dent in the fast growing global EV segment.New Mahindra Electric Pickup Truck RenderThese five new Mahindra electric cars usher in the brand’s future design identity which is being redefined under the new leadership of Pratap Bose. The vehicles are designed by Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE) and have global aspirations.Though none of them are electric pickups, Rushlane’s design specialist Pratyush Rout has created a digital render based on the same design language. If it ever enters production, the vehicle will be made in India and eventually be sold in the domestic market, the primary target market will be North America where electric pickup trucks are gaining traction briskly.Mahindra Electric Pickup Truck RenderThe confident-looking Mahindra electric pickup seems like it has got what it takes to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the popular medium-sized pickups in the USA. Mahindra has finally decided to ditch the contentious Jeep-derived seven-slot grille design as it seeks to establish authenticity. Moreover, being EVs, the future Mahindras don’t really need a large air-intake area at the front.New design languageThe prominent LED lighting signature, new ‘M’ badge, high ground clearance, off-road tyres and a traditional double-cab profile render the truck an appealing road presence. Interiors and specifications will likely be similar to the new age Mahindra BEVs..These new Mahindra electric cars are likely to take advantage of the company’s recent partnership with Volkswagen which allows usage of certain critical components from the German carmaker’s MEB electric platform. This move will keep the development costs low and lead time short, giving Mahindra a competitive edge over rivals like Rivian R1T.The electric SUVs are currently being developed by Mahindra. Of the five, it is the Mahindra XUV700 Electric which is expected to be launched first. These five new Mahindra electric SUVs are expected to make their India debut at the 2023 Auto Expo in Jan next year. More

GMC Sierra EV Pickup Truck Revealed – 1st Electric Denali

GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 Pack Pickup Truck gets dual electric motors setup, making 754 horsepower and 1065 Nm of torqueGMC Sierra EVAmerica is one of the largest car markets on earth. When we say car, we mean pickup trucks though, because they oversell any type of car. The top three highest-selling cars are pickup trucks from the American Trinity (Ford-Chey-Dodge). Top spot will mostly be taken by Ford F-Series pickup trucks, followed by either Chevy Silverado pickup truck series or Dodge RAM pickup truck series.Saying pickup trucks are a big deal in America, is an understatement. Pickup trucks have been accepted as the most practical type of vehicle and have been deeply integrated into the American lifestyle and American way of living. Recently, there has been a paradigm shift where pickup segment is slowly being engulfed by EV revolution. We saw Hummer turn electric with a monstrous 15,500 Nm of torque and 1,000 bhp of power. Yep, it is not a typo. Apparently, its a thing in America where figures like that are normal. Ford F-Series got the electric shock in the form of F-150 Lightning along with GM in the form of Chevy Silverado EV, Hummer EV and now, Sierra EV.GMC Sierra EV Pickup Truck RevealedIf you thought Hummer EV was grotesque in terms of, well, everything, GM has got your back with Sierra EV. GMC, Chevrolet and Hummer come under GM’s umbrella and hence are closely related than one might think. With GMC Sierra EV pickup, GM is providing a change of personality over Silverado EV and Hummer EV.GMC Sierra EV – InteriorDon’t get me wrong. GMC Sierra EV is still shouty, and American in its nature. Less so, when compared to Hummer EV. Denali is the name of the trim that is slapped on top-spec models of GMC products. Denali is often looked at as a brand on its own and has quite a cult following. This is the first time that Denali is getting part of the EV revolution. As of now, GMC is only offering Denali Edition 1 Package and following launch, will spawn less expensive variants as well. Production is slated for 2024, though. At launch, GMC Sierra EV is only available as a crew cab with AWD. It gets dual electric motors. Combined, makes 754 horsepower and 1065 Nm of torque.Max Power mode is the one that gets the above-mentioned figures. This powertrain will propel this electric pickup from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds. Battery is highly likely to be the same 200 kWh pack found in Hummer EV and Silverado EV and claimed range is 400 miles (643 km). It also gets fast charging capabilities.PricingDenali ain’t cheap and it holds true with GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 pack. At $108,695 (approx Rs. 90 lakh, before taxes and import duties), it is slightly more expensive when compared to Ford’s F-150 Lightning Platinum trim. It gets modern and luxurious interiors, a frunk (front trunk), and a lot of presence.Other notable features with Denali Edition 1 pack are rear-wheel steering that enables crab-walking, 24” alloy wheels, a Super-Cruise Hands-Free driving system, adjustable air suspension with ride height enhancement and more. GMC Sierra EV rivals Rivian R1, Ford F-150 Lightning, Hummer EV, Silverado EV and the likes. More

New Renault Small Electric Car Off-Road Concept Debuts

Renault 4 EV’s doors get flush handles, windows are frameless and ORVMs are replaced with camerasNew Renault Small Electric Car2022 Paris Motor Show is jam-packed with new vehicles. Yesterday, we covered Jeep Avenger from the same event. Renault seems to have finally resurrected one of its OG models for 2022. We’re talking about the Renault 4 which is brought back in an EV form in 2022 known as 4Ever Trophy Concept. We say Renault 4 is an OG for the company, because it is the world’s first mass-produced hatchback. It is Renault’s first FWD family car as well. In its 30+ years long run, Renault 4 sold over 8 million units. Renault 4 was the successor of 4CV and after its production ceased, was succeeded by the Twingo hatchback.Even in terms of motorsports, the French company 4 has carved out a piece for itself. It participated in the Cross Elf Cup of France, Routes du Monde, Coupe De France Renault Cross Elf and more. Renault 4 Sinpar participated in the Paris-Dakar Rally and many other events and programs.New Renault Small Electric Car ConceptKeeping the OG Renault 4 aside, 4Ever Trophy Concept is a compact crossover in its DNA. The production-spec model of this vehicle will be closely related to the production-spec model of Renault 5 EV. The latter is set to go into production by 2025. Both of these are based on the CMF-B EV platform. This platform is believed to share half of its components with the existing CMF-B platform.New Renault Small Electric CarWhile Renault 5 is a subtle 2-door hatchback concept, Renault 4Ever Trophy Concept is anything but subtle. It gets a ton of crossover elements to make it stand out, especially when compared to Renault 5. For starters, Renault 4 EV gets 4 doors and is a visually larger product than Renault 5.New Renault Small Electric Car4Ever Trophy gets longer travel suspension which increases the ground clearance quite a bit when compared to Renault 5. Body claddings are chunky and lend it a very muscular stance. Body claddings get pink elements into them and look quite snazzy as well. When viewed from the side, the doors seem to be above its chunky body cladding, taking the sill height quite extreme. This is highly unlikely to make it to production. Boy-o-boy, it looks beefy. Doors get flush handles, windows are frameless and ORVMs are replaced with cameras. There is a rear quarter glass that should enhance visibility.New Renault Small Electric CarDesignFrom the front, we can see an illuminated Renault logo. It is flanked by stacked cube-design LED elements surrounded by LED brackets that double up as DRLs. Closer to the illuminated LED logo, we have 4 LED square elements that are likely to be styling elements. To enhance visual appeal, Renault 4 EV also gets a roof rack mounted spare wheel.Wheels lend a futuristic appeal with what looks like suspension components or dampers of some sort. Production-spec model won’t retain this as it would increase unsprung mass affecting performance. Powertrain details are not revealed. Production is likely to commence in 2024 with deliveries slated for 2025. More

The eSUV is expected to be launched in the price range of Rs 25-30 lakh.Atto 3 Euro NCAP adult and child safetyWith 5-star Euro NCAP rating, Atto 3 is already at an advantageous position in Indian market. There’s significant demand for cars with high-safety rating. The list includes Nexon, XUV700, Punch, XUV300, Thar, Tiago and Altroz. While high safety rating may not be the sole criteria for buying a car, it can certainly have a positive impact on consumer preferences.Talking about BYD Atto 3, the variant tested was base Active trim. It comes with safety features such as front and side airbags, belt pretensioner, belt load limiter, Isofix, seatbelt reminder, autonomous emergency braking, speed assistance and lane assist system.[embedded content][embedded content]The eSUV scored 34.7 points out of 38 or 91% in adult safety. Protection for head impact on bonnet was found to be good or adequate.  However, the stiff windscreen pillars were rated poor for potential pedestrian head injury. In case of a bumper, the protection was good for pedestrians’ legs, but poor for pelvis region. Autonomous emergency braking (AEB) system onboard Atto 3 performed well in the tests by avoiding collisions in most scenarios. In safety assist, Atto 3 scored 12 points or 74%. Lane support system worked well by correcting the vehicle’s path when it was drifting out of lane. Car to car reactions with autonomous emergency braking (AEB) were found to be good. Some points were deducted as the eSUV did not have a driver fatigue detection system. More
