    Hero Mavrick 440 to launch in the UKSimilar to the Indian market, Hero Mavrick 440 will take on rivals such as Triumph Speed 400 and Royal Enfield Bullet 350 in the United KingdomWith its partnership with Harley-Davidson, Hero MotoCorp is looking to target the premium motorcycle segment. Harley-Davidson X440 based Hero Mavrick 440 was launched earlier this year in February. Going forward, plans are to introduce the Mavrick across international markets such as the United Kingdom.Hero Mavrick 440 – UK launch soonWhile the Hero brand is not widely known in the UK, the Harley-Davidson DNA of Mavrick 440 can work to its advantage. Hero can also deliver more value to customers by launching Mavrick 440 in the UK at a competitive price point.Hero Mavrick 440 to launch in the UKFor reference, Triumph Speed 400 is available in the UK at a starting price of £4,995. Royal Enfield Bullet 350 is offered at £4,709. While there is no official statement about the pricing of Mavrick 440 in the UK, it is likely to be cheaper than Speed 400. In India, Hero Mavrick is priced at Rs 1.99 lakh, which is approximately £1,900.In the UK, Hero Mavrick will cater to A2 motorcycle license holders. This category is for people who are 19 years or older. The engine displacement for A2 should be at least 395cc and engine output should not be more than 47 bhp.Hero Mavrick 440 to launch in the UKPowering the Mavrick is a 440cc, air cooled with oil cooler engine. It churns out 27 bhp of max power and 36 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike has an assist and slipper clutch, which will be useful for folks who have recently got their A2 license in the UK.Hero Mavrick 440 Vs. UK rivalsRival Triumph Speed 400 is equipped with a 398.15 cc, liquid cooled, DOHC, single cylinder engine. It generates 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Speed 400 has 43 mm USD Big Piston forks, whereas Mavrick comes with standard telescopic front forks. Royal Enfield Bullet 350 also has standard telescopic forks. Only difference is Mavrick has 43 mm, whereas Bullet 350 has 41 mm forks. Both bikes have 130 mm of travel for the front suspension. Triumph Speed 400 offers 140 mm of travel.Royal Enfield Bullet 350 is equipped with a 349cc, single cylinder, air-oil cooled engine. It generates 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm and is mated to a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. While Mavrick and Bullet have twin rear shock absorbers, Speed 400 is equipped with a gas monoshock RSU at rear. All three bikes have dual-channel ABS as standard. While being affordable, Hero Mavrick 440 has premium features such as a full digital instrumentation with Bluetooth and turn-by-turn navigation.In the UK, Hero has chosen MotoGB as their distribution partner. While the UK-spec version will be largely the same as sold in India, there could be some changes in colour options. It will be interesting to see how Hero Mavrick 440 performs in international markets.     Hero Sales Breakup February 2024 – Domestic, Exports, Splendor, Passion, Destini

    Image – MJK BikerFor the month of February 2024, Hero MotoCorp registered 15.84% YoY growth in domestic market and a staggering 84.14% YoY growth in exportsWorld’s largest 2W manufacturer in volume, Hero MotoCorp, has had a very productive sales prospect in the month February 2024. The sales breakup of this 2W juggernaut revealed positive growth in both domestic and export scenarios. Splendor was the highest contributor in domestic market and it was Hunk for exports.Hero Sales Breakup February 2024 – Domestic SalesLike clockwork, Hero Splendor took the top position with 2,77,939 units. It has to be noted that Splendor is not only Hero’s best-seller but is the best-selling 2W vehicle in India irrespective of genre. Splendor alone accounts for 62.76% of Hero’s total domestic sales. However, there was a slight 3.70% YoY decline as opposed to 2,88,605 units sold last year.This resulted in a volume loss of 10,666 units YoY. In 2nd position, we have HF Deluxe with 76,138 units sold and registered 35.26% YoY growth over 56,290 units from a year ago. HF Deluxe accounts for 17.19% of Hero’s total domestic sales and contributed 19,848 units volume growth. In 3rd place, we have Passion line with 31,302 units sold last month.When compared to 4,640 units sold in February 2023, Passion registered 574.61% YoY growth, gaining 26,662 units in volume. Destini 125 is Hero’s best-selling scooter currently with 17,033 units sold. Numbers doubled YoY at a 106.91% growth rate and gained 8,801 units in volume. Glamour line saw 15,904 takers last month and there was a healthy 86.84% YoY growth.Hero Sales Breakup February 2024 – DomesticSecond best-selling scooter is Pleasure with 8,248 takers last month and 55.24% YoY growth. Hero launched Pleasure XTEC Sports variant with exciting colours to increase sales. In 7th and 8th place, we have Xtreme 125R and Xoom with 3,504 and 3,283 units sold respectively. Numbers halved with Xoom at 54.49% YoY decline.Xpulse 200 sold 2,784 units and there was an impressive 69.76% YoY growth with 1,144 units volume gain. Xtreme 160 and Xtreme 200S combined, sold 2,777 units and registered 501.08% YoY growth. Newly launched Karizma sold 2,128 units and Vida V1 sold 1,399 units and 1,648.75% YoY growth.Hero’s large family scooter, Maestro, saw 424 takers last month. There is a probability of Maestro being discontinued as it is removed from company’s product lineup. In total, Hero sold 4,42,863 units last month and registered a 15.84% YoY growth over 3,82,301 units sold a year ago and gained 60,562 units in volume.Hero Sales Breakup February 2024 – ExportsExports (International Business)Hero’s exports chart is dominated by Hunk. For Hero, Hunk is a collective name and goes on a few vehicles including Xtreme range sold in India. With 186.61% YoY growth, the 8,174 Hunk accounted for 35.31% of Hero’s exports. HF Deluxe took 2nd position with 4,718 units shipped and 84.66% YoY growth. Glamour line shipped 3,552 units with 221.74% YoY growth.Hero’s domestic rockstar, Splendor, took the 4th spot in exports with 3,232 units shipped but saw a 30.7% YoY decline. Xpulse shipments doubled YoY at 112% YoY growth and 1,426 units shipped last month. Maestro, Passion and Karizma shipped 969, 540 and 410 units respectively. Maestro and Passion showed 275.58% and 100% You growth as well.Also, there were 96 units of Pleasure, 26 units of Destini and 5 units of Xoom shipped too. In total, Hero shipped 23,148 units last month. When compared to 12,571 units shipped last year, there was an 84.14% YoY growth, gaining 10,577 units in volume. More

Many of these choose a premium motorcycle falling between the 150cc and 200cc segment. This segment has always favoured the Bajaj Pulsar and the same trend continues in February 2024 as well.150cc To 200cc Motorcycle Sales February 2024Pulsars are Bajaj’s highest-selling sub-brand and they also dominate the 150cc to 200cc motorcycle segment. With 46,219 Pulsars sold last month, Bajaj registered a 74.16% YoY growth over 26,539 units sold in February 2023. This resulted in a volume growth of 19,680 units. Pulsars accounted for 29.63% of the 150cc to 200cc segment.In 2nd spot, we have TVS Apache securing 22.18% of the 150cc to 200cc segment. TVS sold 34,593 Apaches last month and there was a minor 0.98% YoY decline as opposed to 34,935 units sold last year with 342 units lost in volume. Trailing Apache is Honda Unicorn 160 with 21,593 units sold and 13.65% market share of this list.Honda Unicorn has had a massive overhaul where sales numbers are concerned. When compared to the 1,339 units sold last year, Honda saw an astounding 1,490.22% YoY growth, gaining 19,954 units in volume. In 4th position, we have Yamaha FZ lineup with 14,449 units. FZ saw a sales decline of 16.30% YoY.150cc To 200cc Motorcycle Sales February 2024FZ lost 2,813 units YoY in volume. While FZ suffered in sales YoY, Yamaha’s premium 150cc bikes – R15 and MT-15 showed positive growth. Where R15 sold 11,128 units with 44.58% YoY growth and 3,431 units gained in volume, MT-15 sold 10,047 units and registered 63.85% YoY growth with 3,915 units gained in volume.Motorcycles under 5,000 units salesIn 7th place, we have Honda’s recently launched SP160 which saw 5,155 takers last month. Hero might be India’s largest motorcycle manufacturer, but the brand’s premium motorcycles make a significantly underwhelming splash with the best-seller in the 150cc to 200cc segment being Xpulse 200 ADV with 2,784 units sold.Xpulse registered 69.76% YoY growth and there is a new Xpulse 210 incoming with Karizma’s engine. That should expand sales potential further. Hero’s Xtreme lineup (160R and 200S) sold 2,777 units and there was a staggering 501.08% YoY growth, gaining 2,315 units YoY over 462 units sold last year.KTM 200 range saw 2,598 takers last month. However, there was a 20.16% YoY decline with KTM’s 200 lineup. In 11th place, we have Honda Hornet 2.0 which registered a massive uproar in sales when compared to last year’s 5 units. The 1,442 units garnered 28,740% YoY growth. Suzuki sold 1,346 Gixxers in India.Bajaj Avenger sales declined by 15.17% YoY considering the 1,309 units sold last month. Honda CB200X sold 750 units and Kawasaki sold 93 W175s last month. In total there were 1,55,983 units of 150cc to 200cc motorcycles sold last month with a 52.04% YoY growth when compared to 1,02,591 units sold a year ago. Volume gained YoY stood at 53,392 units. The company has made significant advances in expanding the sales envelope and the results are respectable with 83.18% YoY growth in domestic market and sales more than doubled at 117.97% YoY growth in exports.Honda 2W Sales Breakup February 2024 – DomesticIn domestic market, HMSI’s primary contributor is Activa and will probably be that way for a long time, considering the pull it has on Indian buyers. At 2,00,134 units, Activa accounted for 48.11% of Honda’s domestic sales. Numbers saw 14.69% YoY growth over 1,74,503 units sold in February 2023 and gained 25,631 units in volume.CB Shine took the 2nd place in the charts with 1,20,119 units sold last month. When compared to the 35,594 units sold last year, numbers more than quadrupled at 237.47% YoY growth, gaining 84,525 units in volume. Shine accounted for 28.88% of Honda’s domestic sales. Dio doubled its numbers with 104.63% YoY growth selling 29,649 units over 14,489 units sold last year.Dio accounted for 7.13% of Honda’s domestic endeavours and gained 15,160 units in volume YoY. Unicorn showed stellar growth with 23,293 units sold and 1,693% YoY growth over 1,339 units sold a year ago. Recently launched Shinda 100 sold 22,644 units and SP160 sold 5,155 units. Also at the 5,100 units mark was Dream commuter with 5,103 units and 983.44% YoY growth.Honda 2W Sales Breakup February 2024 – DomesticLivo commuter bike saw 3,211 units sold and the bike registered 1,246.4% YoY growth over 222 units sold a year ago. H’ness sales have grown 549% YoY by pushing out 2,072 units last month. Recently launched CB350 (Classic) sold 1,784 units. The biggest sales comeback was demonstrated by Hornet 2.0.The bike sold 1,442 units as opposed to just 5 sold last year. Resulting in 28,740% YoY growth. Next in line was CB200X pseudo ADV with 750 units sold. With the recent price slashing exercise, CB300F sold 308 units and CB300R sold 219 units. The company’s 500cc twinner sold 66 units and the recently launched XL750 Transalp sold 18 units.In total, Honda’s domestic sales accounted for 4,15,967 units last month. When compared to the 2,27,083 units sold in February 2023, there was an 83.18% YoY growth and the volume gain stood at 1,88,884 units YoY.Honda 2W Sales Breakup February 2024 – ExportsExportsDiscontinued in India for slow sales, Navi is Honda’s highest exported vehicle shipping out 13,393 units last month. Navi accounted for 31.7% of Honda’s total exports and the 52.49% YoY growth brought a 4,610 units volume gain. Dio stood in 2nd place with 9,423 units and contributed 22.3% of Honda’s total exports. Dio saw 174.4% YoY growth and gained 5,989 units in volume. Rockstar in the domestic market, Activa saw 4,992 takers globally and saw 966.67% YoY growth.CB Shine and Dream sold 4,170 and 4,112 units and registered 297.9% and 416.58% YoY growth respectively. Honda CB350 and Hornet 2.0 sales fell close together at 1,976 and 1,780 units respectively. Hornet 2.0 saw 74.51% YoY growth. Hornet 160R and Livo sales fell close together with 1,076 units and 1,000 units respectively. Where Hornet 160R registered 60.12% YoY growth, Livo’s was 150% YoY growth.CB200X sold 280 units and Unicorn 160 sold 48 units last month. In total, Honda’s exports stood at 42,250 units, up from 19,383 units sold a year ago. This accounted for 117.97% YoY growth and gained 22,867 units in volume YoY. More

    500cc+ Motorcycles Sales February 2024 – RE650, Z900, Hayabusa, Ninja

    Suzuki HayabusaFor the month of February 2024, the big bike segment accounted for a total volume of 3,497 units and more than doubled in numbers YoYThe iconic motorcycle manufacturer, Royal Enfield, continued to dominate the 500cc+ Motorcycle Sales February 2024 charts like clockwork. The company has a cost-effective lineup based on its 650cc parallel twin engine. Owing to their value proposition, Royal Enfield 650 motorcycles hold 90% of big bike segment’s market share.500cc+ Motorcycles Sales February 2024The chart was led by the 650 Twins (Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650) with 2,070 units sold and accounted for 59.19% of total big bike sales. When compared to 1,170 units sold last year, 650 Twins saw 76.92% YoY growth and 900 units gained in volume. Super Meteor 650 stood in 2nd place with 1,073 units and 30.68% of total big bike sales.Kawasaki’s affordable 4-cylinder lineup includes Z900 and ZX-6R and both these bikes enjoyed good reception from buyers. Kawasaki sold 82 Z900 bikes and 79 ZX-6R bikes last month. Z900 saw 43.86% YoY growth with 25 units gained in volume. Triumph Street Triple RS took 5th position with 29 units sold.The mighty Suzuki Hayabusa sold 28 units, but the appeal seems to be down reflected by the 17.65% YoY decline. India’s most affordable 200bhp litre-class bike, Kawasaki ZX-10R, sold 25 units and registered 56.25% YoY growth with 9 units gained in volume. Honda has been gaining traction in big bike sales after a very long time and even featured in the top 10 with XL750 Transalp at 8th position.500cc+ Motorcycle Sales February 2024The recently launched XL750 sold 18 units last month, which is a good start. At 9th and 10th position, we have Kawasaki Versys 650 and Ninja 650 with 18 and 12 units sold respectively. While Versys quadrupled its numbers with 200% YoY growth gaining 6 units in volume, Ninja saw a 7.69% YoY decline, losing 1 unit in volume. Triumph sold 10 units of Speed Twin and Tiger 900 each, securing 11th and 12th position respectively.Big bikes under 10 units salesHarley-Davidson Nightster sold 9 units and saw 800% YoY growth as opposed to 1 unit sold in February 2023. Triumph sold 6 units of Tiger Sport 660 and registered a 45.45% YoY decline. Selling 5 units each, we have Kawasaki Z650 RS and Triumph Bonneville T120. Coincidentally, not only did they sell 5 units each, but they also registered 150% YoY growth over 2 units sold last year and gained 3 units in volume.The same coincidence was seen with Harley-Davidson Pan America and Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster. Both bikes sold 3 units each, up from 1 unit sold last year and gained 2 units in volume and 200% YoY growth. Also at the 3-unit mark, we have Kawasaki Z650 which registered a 62.50% YoY decline.Four motorcycles sold 2 units each last month. These are Kawasaki Vulcan S, Triumph Bonneville Bobber, Speed Twin and Scrambler 1200. There was no sales growth to highlight with these motorcycles. There was only one motorcycle recording 1 unit sales last month, which was Harley-Davidson Sportster S.There were quite a few motorcycles last month which didn’t see any takers. These are Triumph Trident 660, Rocket III, Tiger 1200, Kawasaki W800, Ninja 1000SX, Versys 1000, Suzuki V-Strom 650, Katana, Harley-Davidson Fat Boy 114, Fat Bob, Street Glide, Roadking (not Yezdi) and Honda Goldwing. In total, there were 3,497 big bikes sold last month. 142% YoY growth and 2,055 units gained in volume were impressive. More

    2024 TVS Apache 160 4VTVS Motor posted a near two fold increase in YoY exports in February 2024 while domestic sales improved by 21%TVS Motor Company has reported strong performance across both domestic and global sales in February 2024. Almost every model in the company’s portfolio has seen positive demand steering up total sales (domestic + exports) to 3,52,750 units in February 2024, up 86,875 units when compared to 2,65,875 units sold in February 2023. This related to a 24.62 percent YoY growth.TVS Motor Domestic Sales February 2024With Jupiter scooter being the best-selling model in the company portfolio in domestic markets and the Star City 125 grabbing most attention globally, the company now gears up to expand its electric vehicle portfolio beyond the  iQube. Two names, TVS XL EV and E-XL names have been registered, one of which will become the electric version of the ICE powered moped – XL 100. Once launched, the recently launched Kinetic e-Luna will be its sole competitor in this segment.TVS Motor Sales Breakup Feb 2024Domestic sales in February 2024 grew by 20.82 percent to 2,67,502 units, up from 2,21,402 units sold in February 2023. This was a 46,100 unit volume growth with most models showing off YoY growth. MoM sales however suffered a setback as TVS Motor sales in January 2024 had stood at 2,68,143 units.TVS Jupiter scooter topped sales charts last month. It was not only the best-selling model in the company portfolio but was also the 2nd best-selling scooter in India after the Honda Activa. Jupiter sales grew by 37.05 percent YoY to 73,860 units in February 2024, up from 52,891 units sold in February 2023 to command a 27.61 percent share on this list.TVS Motor Exports Breakup Feb 2024TVS Raider, a popular model in the 125cc segment, has also seen a 38.61 percent YoY growth to 42,063 units in the past month, up from 30,346 units sold in February 2023. TVS Apache has seen a very marginal YoY de-growth by 0.98 percent to 34,593 units from 34,935 units sold in the same month last year.Sales of the Ntorq grew by 45.47 percent to 24,911 units while iQube sales improved by 1.74 percent to 15,792 units in February 2024. Relatively new entrant Ronin sales stood at 2,042 units while R310 sales were at 573 units, a 53.21 percent YoY growth from 374 units sold in February 2023. TVS Star City suffered a 95.54 percent YoY de-growth with just 165 units sold last month.TVS Exports Led by Star City 125 in February 2024TVS Exports grew nearly two fold in February 2024 to 87,248 units, up 96.20 percent from 44,470 units shipped in February 2023.  In global markets, it was Star City 125 along with Star City that amassed the highest sales and a combined share of 64.2 percent. Star City 125 exports went up to 38,137 units last month from 18,250 units shipped in February 2023 relating to a 108.97 percent YoY growth. Star City exports also climbed to 17,874 units, a 266.57 percent YoY growth over 4,876 units shipped in February 2023.Significant sales growth was also seen for the Apache (9,285 units), Sport (6,540 units) and Raider (5,982 units) while Jupiter exports dipped 13.03 percent to 4,647 units in the past month.
