Hero Vida Z Spied Undisguised Ahead Of Launch

Hero Vida Z SpiedAt the 2024 EICMA Show, Hero MotorCorp made quite a spectacle by showcasing four new motorcycles. These were Hero Xtreme 250R, Xpulse 210, Xoom 160 and Vida Z global electric scooter. The company seems to have commenced testing of the Vida Z ahead of a proper launch. It has been spied for the first time. Let’s take a closer look.
    Hero Vida Z Spied Testing
India’s largest 2W manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp, currently operates the V2 lineup of electric scooters under Vida brand. At 2024 EICMA Show, Hero showcased a handsome new electric scooter with global launch intentions. Called Vida Z, it is a sporty yet elegant electric mobility solution that packs a slightly different ethos than V2 lineup of electric scooters.
    Hero Vida Z
Currently, we get Vida V2 in three different variants – Vida V2 Lite, Vida V2 Plus and Vida V2 Pro. The effective Ex-sh prices of these variants are Rs 74,000, Rs 81,800 and Rs 1,15,300 respectively. Hero has not yet revealed launch timeline along with product positioning among their current crop of V2 electric scooters.
The recent spy shots show Vida Z without any camouflage in a lovely Yellow shade. When compared to the Vida Z scooter showcased at 2024 EICMA and 2025 Auto Expo, we can see that this test mule misses out on a couple of elements. For starters, the contrasting Orange accents are missing and so is its pillion backrest.
    Hero Vida Z Spied
Where design is concerned, Vida V2 takes aggression and sportiness a couple of notches above. In contrast, Vida Z takes a much more sober and elegant approach. At the unveiling, Vida by Hero MotoCorp had unveiled that this new electric scooter will be a global product and will be launched in major global markets like UK.
    What to expect?
LED projector headlights seem to be shared with Vida Z, but front apron is completely new and is devoid of any cuts and creases. Handlebar cowl and front mud guard gets dual tone effect of body colour and Black. LED tail lights, LED turn indicators, single-piece seat along with a touchscreen instrument cluster are notable elements.
    Hero Vida Z Spied
Apart from the few aforementioned differences, Vida Z test mule is almost identical to what the company showcased before. Looking at how close it appears to production, one can speculate that the launch might be around the corner. Vida Z is built on a modular platform that can accept battery packs between 2.2 kWh to 4.4 kWh.
These will be removable batteries that one can charge at their home or apartments. It will have a powerful electric motor that is either swingarm mounted or mid-mounted. We can expect decent range, features and storage provisions. Connectivity features will be abundant too and users will get to monitor various stats.

Government Probe On Ola Electric Initiated For Registration Discrepancy

Ola S1 Pro+ Gen 3Ola Electric is creating a lot of buzz and headlines in the recent past and not for good reasons. The company is facing a major backlash on social media and has been tangled with raids, seized vehicles, misleading advertisements, clashes with Government, poor after sales reputation, payment defaults, workforce layoffs, missing PLI Scheme deadlines, dwindling sales and more.
Now, Ola Electric has found itself in yet another sticky situation due to registration discrepancies for the month of February 2025. The official sales figures produced by Ola Electric have night and day differences when we look at actual registrations seen on Vahan Portal. The Ministry of Heavy Industries has directed ARAI to investigate the same.
    Government Probe On Ola Electric
If we take a look at Ola’s sales performance for the month of February 2025, we can see that Vahan Portal only showed 8,647 registrations. This was a colossal downfall for Ola as the company faced 74.5% decline in sales YoY and 64.5% decline in sales MoM.
However, Ola claims that the company sold around 25K units in February 2025 and the discrepancy is due to the negotiations and optimisations in registration process. This created a massive difference in the vehicles registered and what the company claims its sales performance to be.
Ministry of Heavy Industry has instructed ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) to investigate whether this discrepancy is against the company laws and regulatory standards. ARAI’s investigation will also include Ola’s recent controversy of selling electric scooters without trade certificates in a few authorised dealerships.
ARAI’s investigation will also extend to determine whether or not the company has service centres in all the cities where it has sales operations. A detailed report will be compiled by ARAI and submitted to Ministry of Heavy Industries after investigating Ola Electric’s practices and operations.
    Malpractices found, Scooters seized
RTO authorities in Pune and Mumbai commenced raids on a few Ola authorised dealerships and seized 36 electric scooters that failed to meet compliance requirements. In Punjab many Ola dealerships have been shut down and places like Jabalpur, RTO authorities have issued notice to Ola Electric as scooters were sold without registrations and valid trade certificates.
Ola Electric’s voes in India seem to be growing and Bhavish Aggrawal led electric mobility solutions provider will be held accountable if any discrepancy are found. Ola Electric is yet to make a public statement about these developments related to sales discrepancies and malpractices like selling vehicles without registration and trade certificates.

2025 Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Launched With New Features

2025 Bajaj Pulsar NS160 LaunchedWith an enhanced tech package, the 2025 Bajaj Pulsar NS160 resonates better with the needs of its target audience
One of Bajaj’s popular Pulsar bikes, the NS160 has received updates at regular intervals. The 2025 model has been launched with riding modes of Road, Rain and Off-road. Bajaj Pulsar NS160 will continue to rival the likes of TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and Hero Xtreme 160R in the affordable 160cc street bike segment.
Bajaj Pulsar NS160 – Riding modes
With riding modes of Road, Rain and Offroad, enthusiasts can expect a better overall performance when dealing with varying terrains and environments. Riding modes onboard the Pulsar NS160 adjust the ABS intervention to suit different terrains. Road mode is designed for everyday use with standard ABS intervention.
2025 Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Riding Modes
Rain mode increases ABS sensitivity to prevent skidding on wet surfaces. Off-road mode reduces ABS action on the rear wheel, allowing for better control on loose surfaces like dirt and gravel. Offering riding modes for 160cc motorcycle class might seem unnecessary, but it offers a dash of confidence in young riders.
If we compare with rival offerings, the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V offers riding modes of Urban, Rain and Sport. As the name suggests, Urban mode is for city roads that need quick acceleration and deceleration. The ABS intervention is programmed for a sharp response in Urban mode. In Rain mode, the ABS action is enhanced for better control over slippery environments. In Sport mode, the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V delivers maximum power and optimized ABS response.
2025 Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Mode Button
Another rival is Hero Xtreme 160R 4V. It does not have any riding modes. However, it has other exciting features such as 1st-in-segment drag race timer with two modes. In D1 mode, users can record their 0-60 km/h speed. The D2 mode measures quarter mile timing – 0 to 402 meters.
    Other tech features
With the addition of riding modes, Bajaj Pulsar NS160’s tech package has been further enhanced. The bike already offers features such as turn-by-turn navigation, distance to empty readout, gear position indicator, average fuel economy and real-time fuel economy. As seen in the video by Machine Rules, the fully digital instrument console displays speedometer, RPM meter, fuel gauge, odometer and trip meter.
    2025 Bajaj Pulsar NS160
Users can pair their smartphone via Bluetooth to access turn-by-turn navigation, calls and text alerts and check mobile battery status. The bike also has a USB mobile charging port. Apart from the riding modes, there are no other major updates to the 2025 Bajaj Pulsar NS160. The bike has a sporty, dominating road presence, which is one of its key USPs.
Some of the key features include aggressive headlamp design, all-LED lighting, USD front forks, Grimeca brake callipers, sculpted fuel tank, sporty graphics, split seats, underbelly exhaust and split grab rails. A total of four colour options are available – Cocktail Wine Red, Ebony Black, Pearl Metallic White and Pewter grey.
    [embedded content]
Powering the bike is a 160.3 cc, oil cooled engine that generates 17.2 PS and 14.6 Nm of torque. Both ends have 17-inch wheels, wrapped in 100/80 front and 130/70 rear tubeless tyres. Suspension setup at the rear comprises a Nitrox monoshock absorber with canister. Braking setup has 300 mm front and 230 mm rear discs, with dual-channel ABS. Prices for Bajaj Pulsar NS160 start at Rs 1.49 lakh. More

Triumph Thruxton 400 Cafe Racer Spied Without Camouflage – Launch Soon?

Triumph Thruxton 400 Cafe Racer Spied TestingThe retro classic 350cc to 450cc motorcycle segment is heating up. We have Royal Enfield on one side with around 86% of the segment and then we have the challengers. Joining the challengers soon will be Triumph Thruxton 400 (name not confirmed) featuring a Cafe Racer aesthetic which is not currently used in this segment.
There have been multiple spy shots of this upcoming motorcycle. The latest spy shot might very well be the clearest and it features zero camouflage and testing equipment and associated wires. Even the finishings on engine bay and body panels look finalized, suggesting that it is nearing production and a launch might be around the corner.
Triumph Thruxton 400 Cafe Racer Spied
The iconic and legacy motorcycle brand, Triumph, is keen on expanding its single-cylinder portfolio, which is manufactured by Bajaj Auto here in India. The lineup currently includes Speed 400, Scrambler 400X and Speed T4. There have been test mules spotted of a Scrambler T4 (name not confirmed) as well.
Triumph and Bajaj are on the verge of launching a Cafe Racer inspired motorcycle in India and abroad. When launched, it may take the name of Thruxton 400 or it may get a name based on the already established Speed 400 brand. Previous test mule sightings have shown some kind of testing equipment or had the Triumph branding hidden or concealed.
Triumph Thruxton 400 Cafe Racer Spied Testing
The new spy shots do not show any camouflage or testing equipment and it features Triumph logo on engine casing. The finishing on body panels and engine bay might be final production-spec as well. Where design is concerned, Triumph’s upcoming Cafe Racer looks neat and aesthetically pleasing with a retro charm.
It has a committed riding posture and we can see the test rider leaned on to the clip-on handlebars. Footpeg positioning is slightly rear-set too, which is fitting for a Cafe Racer motorcycle. We can also see bar-end mirrors, which we hope Triumph offers as standard fitment and not part of accessories.
    What to expect?
At the front, we have a classic Cafe Racer style semi fairing that ends into a round LED headlight. There’s also a neat flyscreen integrated into this fairing. Headlight gets a stylish ‘X’ motif which gives it a funky look. Seat is of single-piece type and there is a single-piece pillion grab rail as well.
    Triumph 400cc Cafe Racer
Engine bay gets a Matte Black finish with exposed rivets appeal oozing quality associated with Triumph brand. USD front forks, rear mono-shock 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, disc brakes at both ends with dual channel ABS are notable components. Previous spy shots show the same semi-digital instrument cluster with Triumph Thruxton 400 which lacks Bluetooth.
There’s a large radiator for engine heat management. Speaking of, Triumph is likely to offer the same 398cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC 4V/cyl engine that is capable of generating around 40 bhp of peak power and around 38 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Launch is likely to be around the corner and more info will be divulged soon.

5 Things We Liked About Hero Xpulse 210 After Riding It

5 Things We Like About Hero Xpulse 210Off-road motorcycles have been a keen interest and obsession for Hero MotoCorp. After the split from Honda, Hero MotoCorp’s first ever offering was an off-roader in the form of Impulse. Xpulse is currently Hero’s ADV umbrella and the company just launched Xpulse 210 and it is a completely different animal than what Xpulse 200 4V is.
After riding Xpulse 210 at the national media ride event organised by Hero MotoCorp, we returned really impressed. It looks right, it rides right, it performs right and it packs the right amount of features and equipment making it the perfect do-it-all motorcycle money can buy around Rs 2 lakh (OTR). Here are the 5 things we liked about Hero Xpulse 210.
    Xpulse 210
    1. Design
From a distance, Hero Xpulse 210 still sticks to the Xpulse 200’s overall silhouette. However, it is an all new motorcycle in its entirety. For starters, All the body panels on Xpulse 210 along with its fuel tank are new. It looks significantly more substantial than Xpulse 200 and lends a muscular appeal.
We get tank shrouds this time around and the fuel tank is much taller than Xpulse 200’s. Headlight elements are slightly revised and we get much sleeker LED tail lights and LED turn indicators. Windshield is taller and exhaust is positioned slightly higher.?? The improved switchgear and TFT instrument cluster lend a modern and premium appeal.
    Xpulse 210 Ergonomics
    2. Comfort & Ergonomics
We rode the motorcycle at the media drive event for a little over 200 km and didn’t face any discomfort at all. The seat is new and it has better cushioning than Xpulse 200’s. It is plush while still offering decent support. Handlebar and footpegs are positioned such that the rider has the most optimum posture for long distance touring, which proves comfortable for city rides as well.
The ergonomics are spot on for a tall person like myself (182 cm tall) and I didn’t face any fatigue in my shoulders, neck, back, legs, knees, wrists and ankles. Pillion comfort is well taken care of too. There are chunky grab rails for pillion and the stepped seating ensures minimal discomfort even after long rides.
    Xpulse 210 Engine
    3. Powertrain & Performance
For the first time around, a Hero Xpulse motorcycle has received a liquid-cooled engine with a DOHC head. It is significantly smoother and vibe-free than Xpulse 200 4V. The new engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox for the first time on an Xpulse. The peak performance metrics of this engine is now 24.2 bhp at 9,250 RPM and 20.7 Nm at 7,250 RPM.
Acceleration is brisk and it reaches triple digit speeds with a sense of urgency. Xpulse 210 also holds triple digit speeds quite well and is a solid tourer if you want to do 120 km/h for a long distance. There are fewer vibrations at these speeds and they get more pronounced as the speeds increase. Heat management is well executed too and the bike does not heat up unnecessarily and the fan kicks in when the engine needs cooling.
    Xpulse 210 Suspension
    4. Ride & Dynamics
If you observe closely, Xpulse 210 is positioned on a brand new chassis which is significantly more agile and sharp. The front forks are 41mm RSU telescopic units that are fatter than Xpulse 200’s. Rear suspension linkage on Xpulse 210 is very sophisticated too. Suspension travel is 210 mm at the front and 205 mm at the rear, up from Xpulse 200’s 190 mm and 170 mm respectively.
Xpulse 200 already had excellent and robust ride quality and Xpulse 210 takes it to a new level. It is more absorbent and makes light work of bad road and no road situations. What surprised us the most was the way Xpulse 210 handles and attacks corners. It has agility now which one doesn’t usually associate with a bike donning 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels. Braking has improved significantly as well as Hero is offering dual-channel ABS for the first time on an Xpulse.
    Xpulse 210 TFT Cluster Screen
    5. Features & Equipment
Xpulse 210 is packed to the brim with features. It is the first Hero MotoCorp motorcycle to feature a fancy TFT instrument screen which is 4.2-inch in size. It is bright and is legible even under direct sunlight. It has day and night modes and even an auto mode that switches between them depending on the ambient light. The same sensor is also used for auto headlight feature as well.
With Bluetooth connectivity, Xpulse 210 can show notifications and offers music control and navigation. Below this cluster, we get a USB Type-A port. The switchgear quality has been improved too and it feels like a premium product. Also contributing to that effect is the LED lighting around the motorcycle.
    Xpulse 210 Switchgear
    Should you buy one?
Many prospective buyers might feel that Hero should have opted for the new 250cc engine rather than this 210cc engine. However, we think the new 250cc engine is slightly vibey at higher speeds which wouldn’t feel at home on a tourer. Also hitting the right price point while keeping the weight down are crucial for the success of this product. In that regard, Xpulse 210 fits the bill perfectly and we think it makes more sense than an Xpulse 250. More

    2025 Honda CRF250 L and Rally Launch Price JPY 649K (Rs 3.71 L)

2025 Honda CRF250 RallyHonda has seen great success in the quarter liter ADV motorcycle segment with the launch of CRF lineup in 2012. It has been a great entry point for riders to get into off-road motorcycles. Now, Honda has just updated CRF250 L and CRF 250 Rally to MY25 with updates to powertrain, new colourways and more. Let’s take a closer look.
    2025 Honda CRF250 L and Rally
While the CRF250L was first introduced in 2012, CRF250 Rally was brought to the market in 2017. Based on the standard CRF250L, CRF250 Rally features more off-road worthy hardware to take on the trails and off-road section better than the standard model.
    2025 Honda CRF250L
For 2025, Honda has made subtle updates to both CRF250L and CRF250 Rally. Starting with the price, 2025 Honda CRF250L is priced at JPY 649,000 (approx Rs 3.71 lakh) and CRF250 Rally is priced at JPY 792,000 (approx Rs 4.53 lakh). 2025 CRF250L is offered in two colours – Swift Gray and Extreme Red.
CRF250 Rally, on the other hand, is offered in just one colour, Extreme Red. However, the Extreme Red colourway on 2025 CRF250 Rally is different from the Extreme Red on 2025 CRF250L. Only the Rally variant gets a semi fairing and a taller windscreen, while standard CRF250L only gets a flyscreen.
    2025 Honda CRF250 Rally
With 2025 model, Honda is offering Blue seat for the first time on Rally variant. We can also see revised graphics to lend a new identity. Honda has changed the shape of radiator grille and made subtle changes to side body panels. This is done to better reroute engine heat away from the rider.
    Will it launch in India?
Mechanically, suspension setup on both these motorcycles have been updated to increase the rider comfort and offer better dynamics than before. Other than these revisions, Honda CRF250L and CRF250 Rally continue to be the same, offering a great blend of off-road ability and touring.
    2025 Honda CRF250 Rally Side
There’s long travel suspension at both ends and Honda offers large wire-spoke wheels wrapped with dual-sport tyres. There are disc brakes at both ends with ABS. Where powertrain is concerned, both motorcycles get the same 249cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC 4V/cyl engine that is capable of 23 bhp and 22.55 Nm of torque.
While we wish Honda launch CRF250 range of ADVs in India, the company has not revealed any interests yet. If it launches in India, it will be a direct rival to the just launched Hero Xpulse 210, which has completely transformed itself into a whole new animal, priced from Rs 1.76 lakh (Ex-sh). More
