    Honda 2W Sales Breakup November 2023 Domestic, Exports – Activa, Shine, Dio

    Honda CB350 ClassicHonda’s strongest contender in Indian market is still the Activa with close to 2 lakh units sold in November 2023, followed by CB ShineHonda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) posted a strong 18.98% YoY growth in domestic market and an even stronger 33.70% YoY growth where exports to global markets are concerned. Honda 2W sales stood at 4,20,648 units in domestic market and 26,314 units in exports. This was a slight decrease in sales when compared to October 2023 charts.Honda 2W Sales Breakup November 2023 – Domestic marketIn domestic market, HMSI sold 4,20,648 units with 18.98% YoY growth. As opposed to 3,53,553 units sold in November 2022, volume growth was 67,095 units YoY. Primary contributor for Honda is Activa scooter with 1,96,055 units that took a 46.61% share of company’s total domestic sales. YoY growth with Activa lineup was 11.98% with 20,971 units gained in volume.CB Shine contributed 1,28,969 units accounting for 20.66% of Honda’s domestic sales. CB Shine 125 registered 12.18% YoY growth flexing 14,004 units gained in volume. Activa and CB Shine contribute to around 77% of Honda’s total sales in India. The new 100cc Shine 100 sold 26,974 with a 6.41% market share.Recently updated Dio saw 23,979 takers last month and registered 48.92% YoY growth and 7,877 units volume growth YoY. Honda Unicorn’s appeal has reduced YoY by 29.88% decline, losing 8,583 units in volume. The newly launched SP160 is the replacement for Honda’s X-Blade. SP160 saw 7,310 takers, which is significantly better than X-Blade’s 0 sales.Honda 2W Sales Breakup November 2023 – DomesticHonda Dream commuter sold 6,032 units with 30.76% YoY growth and 1,419 units volume growth. Livo and Hornet 2.0 sold 3,732 and 3,214 units respectively. Where Hornet’s numbers almost doubled at 94.2% YoY growth, Livo saw a 38.71% decline YoY. Best-selling Big Wing motorcycle, CB350, sold 2,466 units with 21.36% You growth.Honda’s pseudo ADV, CB200X, saw a sudden spike in sales registering 1,233% YoY growth with 1,240 units sold as opposed to 93 units sold in November 2022. CB300R showed a slight 1.09% YoY decline with 363 units sold last month. Despite the recent price revision, CB300 F has not been seeing many takers with just 164 last month. Honda’s big boy Goldwing sold 4 units last month, which is a 300% YoY growth as opposed to 1 unit sold last year.Honda 2W exportsWhere exports are concerned, Honda registered a solid 33.70% YoY growth by shipping 26,314 units last month as opposed to 19,681 units last year. This resulted in 6,633 units YoY volume growth. Surprisingly, it is the Navi that is the highest-shipped Honda 2W vehicle from India. Navi saw 10,942 buyers abroad accounting for 41.58% of Honda’s total shipments.Honda 2W Sales Breakup November 2023 – ActivaWhen compared to 7,345 units shipped last year, Navi registered 48.97% YoY growth and gained 3,597 units YoY in volume. Dio took 2nd place in company’s exports with 5,053 units, 38.25% YoY growth and 19.20% market share. Volume growth is 1,398 units YoY. Highest-seller in India, Activa has seen a significant rise in export charts too with 1,268.27% YoY growth and 16.22% market share.Honda shipped 4,269 Activa as opposed to 312 units shipped in November 2022. CB Shine and X-Blade shipped 1,542 and 1,320 units with 19.29% and 43.88% YoY decline respectively. Dream and CB350 shipments stood at 1,096 and 1,080 units respectively, with Dream registering 996% YoY growth.Unicorn 160, Livo and Hornet 160R saw a significant decline in sales with 384, 300 and 166 units shipped respectively. Ather 450S can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. The scooter has plenty of tech features such as park assist, auto hold, side stand sensor, auto indicator cut-off, incognito mode and guide-me-home light.Ather rolls out 200,000th electric scooterThe top-spec variant is 450X, available with battery options of 2.9 kWh and 3.7 kWh. Prices start at Rs 1.38 lakh and Rs 1.45 lakh, respectively, in Bengaluru. While top speed is fixed at 90 km/h for both, the certified range is 111 km and 150 km, respectively. True range works out at 90 km and 110 km. Both variants of 450X are equipped with a 7-inch TFT touchscreen. Safety kit includes features like emergency stop signal (ESS), fall safe and dual disc brakes. A range of connectivity features are available via the Ather smartphone app.Ather to target premium segment with Ather 450 ApexAther is gearing up to launch its new flagship, the 450 Apex electric scooter. Pre-orders are currently open for a token amount of Rs 2,500. The booking amount is fully refundable. The 450 Apex is promising entirely new experiences, made possible with multiple upgrades and innovations. The decision to launch 450 Apex could also be linked to rival offerings such as the Ola S1 Pro Gen 2. The latter has a larger capacity battery, more power and higher top speed. Ather 450 Apex will be looking to provide something better.One of the key upgrades for Ather 450 Apex could be an advanced regenerative braking system. This remarkable increase could be attributed to the enhanced features introduced in the new Passion Plus launched earlier in July, boasting innovations such as i3S technology, a side stand indicator, semi-digital instrument console, a mobile charging port, and an extended, wider seat for heightened rider and pillion comfort.Hero Exports Breakup Nov 2023 vs Nov 2022Both Hero Pleasure (22,752 units) and Glamour (20,926 units) witnessed growth, amounting to 15.26 percent and 182.71 percent year-on-year respectively. However, Destini 125 experienced a slight dip in sales by 17.23 percent year-on-year, dropping to 12,756 units in the last month from 15,411 units sold in November 2022. Additionally, Hero MotoCorp successfully sold 7,124 units of Xoom, 3,286 units of Vida, and 2,655 units of Xtreme 160/200, along with 895 units of Karizma 210 and 298 units of Maestro. Each of these models, excluding Maestro, exhibited outstanding year-on-year growth.Hero HF Deluxe Leads Exports in November 2023Exports surged by 33.09 percent year-on-year to reach 14,764 units in November 2023 from 11,093 units in November 2022. Hero HF Deluxe emerged as the frontrunner in the export segment, despite a 13.55 percent decrease from 4,192 units in November 2022 to 3,624 units in November 2023, commanding a substantial 24.55 percent share.Hero Maestro experienced a noteworthy year-on-year upsurge of 305.17 percent, escalating from a mere 744 units in November 2022 to 3,136 units in November 2023. Meanwhile, Hunk exports saw a marginal growth of 0.34 percent to reach 2,663 units, compared to 2,654 units in November 2022. The export figures for Hero XPulse witnessed a staggering 280.62 percent year-on-year growth, escalating from 578 units in November 2022 to 2,200 units shipped in the last month. Conversely, Hero Splendor experienced a decline of 37.74 percent year-on-year in exports, amounting to 1,320 units.Furthermore, Glamour exports soared by 203.25 percent to 1,213 units in November 2023 from 400 units shipped in November 2022, while Pleasure saw 372 units exported in the past month, a decline from 967 units in the same period last year. Additionally, the export list included Hero Passion, which witnessed a 33.33 percent decline to 180 units from 270 units shipped in November 2022, and Destini, with exports growing by 433.33 percent to 48 units from 9 units in November 2022. Panniers, top box, pannier rails, top box mount, inner waterproof bags, windscreen and adventure seats for rider and pillion are main highlights.In Rally lineup of accessories, Royal Enfield has revealed prices for underbody protection and handlebar pad. There are more interesting accessories in Rally lineup. These include knuckle guards, single-piece rally seat, tapered handlebar, rear rally mudguard and extended rally gear lever. Pricing for these are yet to be revealed.New Himalayan Accessories – AdventureOther miscellaneous accessories include ORVMs, engine guards, headlight grill, radiator guard, fancy oil filler cap, LED fog lights and tail pack. The smaller capacity 411cc Himalayan was popular, to begin with. However, enthusiasts faced limitations with low power output when compared to rivals like KTM 390 Adventure.Specs, powertrain and rivalsNew Himalayan 450 has ample power and torque reserves. The 452cc, liquid cooled Sherpa 450 engine churns out 40.02 PS of max power and 40 Nm of peak torque. In comparison, KTM 390 Adventure has a 373.27 cc engine that makes 43.5 PS and 37 Nm. Other key highlights of new Himalayan 450 include a new 6-speed gearbox, ride-by-wire feature, new TripperDash and more.     Bajaj Sales Breakup November 2023 – Domestic Sales Surge 76% YoY

    Bajaj Auto has seen increased demand for its Pulsar and Platina range both in domestic and export marketsBajaj Auto Limited has reported outstanding success in domestic markets in November 2023. Total sales (domestic + exports) grew to 3,32,223 units in November 2023 up from 2,49,731 units sold in November 2022. This related to a volume growth of 82,492 units. It was however a MoM de-growth when compared to total sales (domestic + exports) at 3,88,428 units in October 2023.Bajaj Auto Domestic Sales November 2023Total domestic sales were up 76.37 percent YoY while exports on the other hand fell by 6.65 percent in the past month. The company is set to expand its high-in-demand 125cc Pulsar range and the new P125 has been spied on test. Once launched, it will rival the TVS Raider 125, Honda SP 125 and Hero Glamour XTEC.There are also plans to introduce upgrades to 6 of the Pulsar models in the 125-200cc range by March 2024. Bajaj Auto sales in domestic markets improved by 76.37 percent YoY to 2,10,532 units in November 2023, up from 1,19,367 units sold in November 2022. This led to volume growth of 91,165 units. Among the company portfolio, it was the Pulsar and Platina that saw increased sales along with the CT, Chetak and Avenger.Sales of Dominar, however, fell marginally. Pulsar sales were up 79.29 percent YoY to 1,30,403 units in the past month, up from 72,735 units sold in November 2022 to command a 61.94 percent share on this list. In the Pulsar range, it was the 125cc and 150cc models that commanded higher sales with 77,711 units and 28,373 units sold last month relating to a 72.03 percent and 109.62 percent YoY growth.Bajaj Sales Breakup November 2023 – DomesticPulsar 200cc sales also went up by 39.76 percent to 18,947 units from 13,557 units YoY while sales of Pulsar 250cc zoomed by 1043 percent to 5,372 units in November 2023 from just 470 units sold in November 2022. Bajaj Platina sales also went up by 79.83 percent YoY to 60,607 units from 33,702 units sold in November 2022 with a 28.79 percent share.Pulsar leads the charts for Bajaj in domestic marketCT sales were higher by 15.69 percent YoY to 8,643 units from 7,471 units sold in November 2022 with the 110cc model commanding higher attention with a 98.26 percent YoY growth with 6,957 units sold last month. The CT 125cc however, saw lower sales down 57.45 percent YoY to 1,686 units. Bajaj Chetak, currently the 3rd best-selling electric scooter in the country, saw a total of 8,472 units sold last month, up 153.20 percent YoY over 1,300 units sold in November 2022.The company plans updated versions of this electric scooter with features such as a larger battery pack, TFT colour instrument display with Bluetooth and turn by turn navigation, etc, which will allow it to compete even better with Ola Electric and TVS iQube. Avenger sales grew by 24 percent YoY to 1,612 units while sales of Dominar dipped by 2.21 percent to 795 units in November 2023.Bajaj Exports dip in November 2023Taking into account total exports in the past month, there were 1,21,691 units shipped, relating to a 6.65 percent YoY de-growth when compared to 1,30,364 units exported in November 2022. In the export list, it was the Boxer that saw highest demand at 63,936 units, though it was a YoY de-growth of 20.58 percent when compared to 80,500 units shipped in November 2022.Bajaj Sales Breakup November 2023 – ExportsThe Boxer currently commands a 52.54 percent share with its 110cc model commanding the highest demand at 45,784 units while there were 7,604 units of the Boxer 125cc exported last month along with 10,548 units of Boxer 150cc. Pulsar exports were up 29.26 percent YoY to 31,392 units in November 2023 with Pulsar 200cc seeing higher demand by 41.06 percent to 16,346 units. Pulsar 125cc (3,934 units), Pulsar 150cc (8,442 units) and Pulsar 250cc (2,670 units) made up the balance exports.While Bajaj CT exports dipped 24.79 percent YoY to 14,112 units, that of Discover improved by 164.67 percent to 7,252 units from 2,740 units exported in November 2022. Bajaj Platina exports saw the highest YoY growth by 364.06 percent to 2,673 units. However, Dominar sales dipped 26.52 percent to 2,313 units from 3,148 units shipped in November 2022 along with the Avenger, exports of which fell by 96.29 percent YoY to just 13 units in the past month. Within the 2W envelope, there is a significant shift in gravity towards electric scooters than motorcycles. Customer reception has been the same. Pune-based Tork Motors is keen on carving out a piece of this pie with a new electric scooter.Tork Electric Scooter Spotted Testing For The First TimeAs of now, Tork Motors is a leading player in electric motorcycle space. A segment that has seen limited action when compared to electric scooters. With mainstream motorcycle manufacturers like Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha still absent, there is some prospective growth opportunity for others and newcomers.Among the newcomers, we have Ola Electric and Ather Energy. Along with that mainstream OEMs like TVS, Bajaj and Hero MotoCorp have made their presence known in electric scooter space too. Tork is playing its hand at the big table with big blinds, betting big on its upcoming electric scooter.There is just one picture from the back and not a lot is known about its specifications. That said, we can deduce quite a lot of deets about this upcoming Tork electric scooter. For starters, this would be Tork Motors’ first electric scooter, which has been primarily an electric motorcycle manufacturer.Tork electric scooterWhat to expect?From the looks of it, Tork Motors seems to be shooting for affordable family scooter genre, something that has gained quite a lot of traction recently. Players like Simple Energy, TVS, Bajaj Chetak and Ola are already operating in this space, while Ather has a product under testing. Scooter juggernaut in India, Honda, is planning to start with this segment too.There is a wide single-piece seat and below that we can see a wide tail light that could be made of LEDs. Production version will get grab rails too. There may be a swingarm-mounted electric motor, from the looks of things. We can see a shock absorber on the left side. Because of limited amount of spy shots, we can’t say whether it is a single-sided setup or a twin shock absorber setup.New Kratos electric motorcycle?There is a large centre stand too. Core powertrain components are likely to be shared with Kratos electric motorcycle, but in different capacity and configurations. We can expect around 100 km of real-world range on a single charge. Speaking of Kratos, Tork seems to be testing a new electric motorcycle as well.Tork Kratos Urban TrimAs seen in the spy shots, there is an electric motorcycle testing alongside Tork electric scooter. The company has already trademarked Hurikan 440 and Nightster 440 names in India which could be an ADV or a street bike. Ahead of that, Harley-Davidson seems to be testing more accessories for X440.Harley-Davidson X440 New AccessoriesHero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson has mentioned that Indian customers have showed excellent responses to their maiden product. X440 is on offer in three trim levels – Denim, Vivid and S. Prices range between Rs. 2,39,500 and Rs. 2,79,500 (ex-sh) and deliveries have already commenced.On top of the four official accessories that are currently on sale, Harley-Davidson seems to be developing a new range of accessories that a recent test mule showed. These accessories were not showcased at launch or during deliveries commencing period. Multiple dealerships had informed buyers that there were new accessories incoming.The primary among the incoming accessories was rear pillion backrest. The spy shots taken near Hero MotoCorp tech centre, Jaipur, credited to automotive enthusiast XX, show a Harley-Davidson X440 test mule donning a rear pillion backrest. At first glance, this motorcycle looks like a mini bike owing to the large frame of test rider. But it is the X440 and there is no mini bike from Harley-Davidson.Harley-Davidson X440 test muleOther accessories that are expected to arrive, as per Harley-Davidson dealers (unofficial) is bar-end mirrors. However, the test mule spy shots we received didn’t have bar-end mirrors.Accessories on offer right nowCurrently, Harley-Davidson offers six elements as part of PDI kit for free and is offering four official accessories designed and developed for X440. The free elements as part of PDI kit include ORVMs, handlebar weights, saree guard, number plates and two exhaust heat shields, one on the end can and one on catalytic converter.As per paid accessories, Harley-Davidson offers a leg guard and engine bash plate both priced at around Rs. 800. Then there is a centre stand and a softer touring seat both of which are priced around Rs. 1,400. Lastly, there is a small windshield that lends a Cafe Racer look that costs approximately Rs. 400. All prices mentioned may include additional taxes and labour charges.Apart from these, Harley-Davidson also sell branded riding gears for both male and female riders of all sizes. Based on customer demand, there will be further additions to its accessories list for X440 to unlock more potential.Is this a new motorcycle based on Karizma XMR 210?Harley-Davidson has been compartmentalizing in key global markets and is spawning low-cost budget motorcycles to reach a wider range of audience. The partnership with Hero MotoCorp might turn fruitful for Harley-Davidson and the next motorcycle may have an even smaller capacity than current X440.This could be based on the recently launched Karizma’s 210cc platform.
