    2022 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra Get Base Two-Door, Standard-Bed Models

    Chevrolet and GMC confirmed to Car and Driver that the 2022 Silverado and Sierra will be available in a regular-cab configuration, which will be offered either with a standard bed or a long bed.The two-door versions of GM’s full-size trucks will only come on the base trims, the Silverado WT and the Sierra Pro.The standard bed, which measures 79.4 inches, was not available on either truck during the current generation before their 2022 model year facelifts.Trucks have strayed far from their roots. Originally filling the role of bare-bones workhorses, pickup trucks have become luxury items, with the average price for a full-size truck now over $56,000 as of May 2021, according to Kelley Blue Book. Many trucks never leave the pavement, with their owners opting for svelte, four-door crew-cab models to fit the whole family in comfort. But those who still want a simple truck can rejoice because Chevrolet and GMC have confirmed that the refreshed 2022 Silverado and Sierra will be available as two-door, regular cab models with a standard bed.

    There is a caveat, however. If you want the regular-cab, standard-box versions of the General Motors truck twins, you will need to buy the base models. A spokesperson for Chevrolet told Car and Driver that the regular cab, ether with the standard bed or the long bed, will only be produced for the cheapest Silverado WT trim. For the Sierra, a GMC representative affirmed that the regular-cab model with either the standard or long bed will only be offered on the base Pro grade.

    This is the first time that the two-door Silverado or Sierra will be available with a standard bed (measuring 79.4 inches) for the current generation. A regular-cab model with the 98.2-inch-long bed could be had on the pre-facelift Silverado and Sierra and continues as an option for the base-model trucks. If you want a two-door Silverado or Sierra in a fancier trim level, you’re out of luck—unless you move to the Middle East, where you can buy a two-door with a standard bed in the Trail Boss or RST trims. No pricing information is available yet for these old-school pickup-truck configurations, but expect the regular-cab, standard-bed models to cost slightly less than the equivalent long-bed versions.

    Dazzling Polestar Precept Concept to Become the 2024 Polestar 5

    Polestar has revealed that the Precept concept will enter production as the Polestar 5.The Polestar 5 will be launched in 2024, following the 2023 Polestar 3 and future Polestar 4 SUVs.Polestar showed an image of a near-production 5, which ditches cameras for real side-view mirrors and seems to have removed the lidar pod jutting out from the roof on the concept.In early 2020, Polestar debuted the jaw-dropping Precept concept, a sharp, low-slung electric four-door hatchback said to preview the future of Polestar design and featuring a protruding lidar pod on the roof for advanced driver-assistance features. Then in September of this year, Polestar revealed that the Precept will enter production before 2025 and become the flagship model in the lineup. At that time, the company showed an image of a prototype Precept under development. Now, the Swedish electric automaker has announced more details about the upcoming production version of the Precept and provided a behind-the-scenes look at the car transitioning from concept to road car.

    Polestar

    Polestar has now revealed that the Precept concept will reach showrooms as the Polestar 5. So far Polestar has sold the 1, a sleek two-door grand-tourer, and the 2, a boxy Tesla Model 3 competitor. Polestar has confirmed that the 5 will be launched in 2024, and presumably following the 3 and 4, both of which will be SUVs. In terms of classifying the 5, the Precept concept featured four doors and a hatchback at the rear, and Polestar is dubbing the the upcoming car “an electric performance four-door grand touring car,” making it a competitor to the likes of the Tesla Model S, Lucid Air, and Mercedes EQS. In the behind-the-scenes video below, Polestar shows the process for transferring the exterior design of the Precept to a production model. The company says the Precept’s taut, creased design language will bleed over onto the Polestar 3 SUV that’s due next year. Polestar also provided a single image of a “near production” Polestar 5. We see that the 5 will feature regular side-view mirrors instead of cameras and subtle changes to the front end, and the lidar sensor is no longer perched on the roof.     Back in 2018, Royal Enfield had unveiled bobber-styled Concept KX at EICMA. ‘838’ engraving on the engine indicated that the motor was of 838cc capacity. While Concept KX is not going into production stage anytime soon, its core design format will be utilized for the new 650cc cruiser from Royal Enfield. The latter has now made its global debut as SG650 at 2021 EICMA.
    After unveiling their 120th anniversary edition of Interceptor 650 and Continental GT650, Royal Enfield has now revealed an all new 650cc motorcycle concept called SG650. It is an all new motorcycle, which is likely to be transformed into a production spec bobber sometime next year.

    Retro-styled Royal Enfield 650cc bobber is equipped with features such as round headlamp, round rear-view mirrors, teardrop fuel tank design, single seat, dual exhaust and broad rear fender. Users can expect a comfortable riding stance, made possible with wide, elevated handlebar and forward-set footpegs.
    It is seen with dual instrument pods, a larger unit on the left and a smaller one on the right. The latter is Tripper navigation display unit, which was first seen with Meteor 350. It is possible that the 650cc bobber SG650 can get a new range of connectivity features. This would be expected from a premium bike that will be positioned above 650 twins in the company’s line-up.

    SG in the SG650 likely stands for Shotgun. Royal Enfield has trademarked the name Shotgun for an upcoming motorcycle. It is likely that the SG650 concept becomes Shotgun 650 upon launch. Powering the new Shotgun 650cc bobber will be the same 648cc, parallel twin motor that does duty on Interceptor and Continental GT. It makes 47 bhp at 7150 rpm and 52 Nm at 5250 rpm. It is mated to a constant mesh 6-speed gearbox.

    The engine has been designed for real world riding conditions. It suits city streets as well as effortless cruising on open roads. It is possible that the engine could be tweaked slightly on 650cc bobber to make it more suitable for long distance touring.
    While 650 twins have standard telescopic forks at front, the new 650cc cruiser is expected to get USD forks. In that case, it will be the first Royal Enfield bike to get this feature. USD forks will allow better handling and safer braking at high speeds.

    At the rear, the bike will get standard twin shock absorbers. Braking system could be the same as 650 twins – 320 mm disc at front and 240 mm at rear. Dual-channel ABS will be offered as standard. In India, Royal Enfield 650cc bobber is expected to be launched at around Rs 4 lakh (ex-sh). It will be a pretty good deal at this price point. The SG650 upon launch will also be sold in several international markets.
    Royal Enfield is also expected to launch a cruiser based on this bobber concept sometime next year. It remains to be seen the type of response the 650cc bobber cruiser generates.     Royal Enfield journey started in 1901, which is when their first motorcycle was launched. The first RE motorcycle was launched at Stanley Cycle Show in London. Today, at the EICMA 2021 show in Milan, Royal Enfield is celebrating the brand’s 120th anniversary. To commemorate the occasion, Royal Enfield has announced the launch of limited edition 650 Twins – Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650.
    Both these motorcycles will be available in all global markets, where they are present. A total of 480 motorcycles are on offer – 120 units for each India, Europe, Americas and South-East Asia. 60 units of INT 650 and 60 units of GT 650 per region. In India, these will go on sale on 6th Dec 2021. Registrations for the sale commence today at the official website.

    In order to make it an exclusive affair, each of these bikes will feature a unique serial number on the tank top badge indicating that it is 1 of 60 unique motorcycles in any of the four regions mentioned around the world. These motorcycles will be exclusively available for online sale in India.
    These new Royal Enfield 120th Anniversary Editions are cosmetically enhanced versions of the standard 650 Twin models but don’t receive any mechanical or feature updates. The limited-run models flaunt a special all-black paint scheme with hand-painted golden-coloured stripes on the fuel tank. Such craftsmanship is even witnessed in the company’s oldest model in production- Bullet, in its standard black variant.

    This exclusivity is further accentuated by the addition of the Royal Enfield 120th Anniversary insignia on top of the tank. The fuel tank also features specially minted brass emblems embossed on the sides made in collaboration with the ‘Sirpi Senthil’ family. The glossy finish to the panels add a nice premium appeal to the motorcycles.
    To provide a contrasting effect, Royal Enfield has blackened-out internals and mechanical components of the bikes such as engine, exhaust, front and rear suspension and handlebar with a matte treatment. The motorcycles will also be equipped with a range of genuine accessories such as flyscreens, engine guards, heel guards, touring and bar end mirrors amongst others in a black disguise to compliment the overall design.

    As previously mentioned, there will be no mechanical changes to either of the motorcycles. Suspension duties are handled by conventional front forks and twin gas-charged rear shock absorbers.

    2022 Honda Forza 125 premium scooter has made its global debut today, at the EICMA show in Milan. It comes in range of new features and updates. Convenience tech features include HSTC, electric screen adjustment, USB Type-C socket, storage for two full-face helmets, LED lighting, and Smart Key functionality.
    Honda Forza 125 has been on offer to European customers since 2015. To date 80k units have been sold. It’s design approach combines compact, sporty and ‘GT’ elements. The scooter features a four valve eSP (‘enhanced Smart Power’) engine. Handling ability is nuanced for city riding. Long range highway riding benefits from ride comfort, wind protection and strong top end power.
    In the last update, cosmetic changes were implemented to front and side fairings, mirrors, rear side panels and engine covers. Styling focused on a sleeker overall look for improved aerodynamics. The 22YM model will be available in two new colour options, Pearl Falcon Grey, and Mat Pearl Pacific Blue. Colours carried forward include Pearl Nightstar Black, Mat Cynos Grey Metallic, and Mat Carnelian Red Metallic.

Locakable front left inner fairing pocket means the space can be used optimally to hold a phone and water bottle among other things.
    The USB socket replaces ACC 12V charging point. Forza 125 smart key utility takes care of main ignition switch knob, compartment locking, and also the optional 45L smart top box.

    Features include analogue speedometer and rev-counter, the dials for which have been redesigned. The digital display switches between 3 modes – odometer, range remaining, and current mpg. Other information displayed includes a trip meter, average fuel consumption and timer, ambient temp thermometer and battery sensor.
    2022 Forza 125 enhanced Smart Power (eSP) four-valve, water-cooled SOHC engine delivers max power of 11 kW / 15 PS @ 8,750rpm, and peak torque of 12.2Nm @ 6,500rpm. Compression ratio is set at 11.5:1. One can go from 0-200m in 13.3s. Honda has no plans to launch this scooter in India. If it does get launched, it could rival the likes of Yamaha Aerox and Aprilia SR range. More

    Honda recently added a new adventure tourer to its lineup which will serve as the entry-level model to the CBX range. The new CB150X beats CB200X to become the smallest adventure tourer by the Japanese brand. This bike made its maiden appearance recently at the ongoing 2021 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS).
    Like the India-spec CB200X, the Indonesia-spec CB150X is more of a road-biased tourer than a full-fledged adventure bike. Both these bikes draw parallels to each other in a lot of ways. Let us look at some of them to distinguish these motorcycles apart.
    Honda CB200X
    Honda CB150X Vs CB200X – Design
    Both CB200X and CB150X are clothed versions of their respective naked counterparts- Hornet 2.0 and CB150R and flaunt a similar design philosophy of Honda’s CBX range. However, there are subtle variations that sets them apart. For starters, the front beak in CB150X is more pronounced than the one in CB200X, in addition to a taller windscreen in the former.
    Side panels on CB200X look sportier than CB150X. While both motorcycles feature beefy fuel tank extensions, the ones in CB150X look slightly more premium thanks to a brushed metal-like finish. Another major anomaly is that CB150X carries a much larger engine bash plate with a metallic finish in comparison to the smaller non-metallic unit in CB200X.

    Exhaust canister in CB200X is more stubby than the full-sized upswept unit in CB150X. This also helps the latter in water wading capabilities. Further, CB150X gets a ground clearance of 181mm, which is 14mm more than the CB200X. That said, the saddle of the former is more accessible at 805m in comparison to the seat height of 817mm in CB200X.
    Hardware Specs
    Both CB150X and CB200X are underpinned by a diamond-type frame. Suspension duties in CB150X are carried out by 37mm Showa inverted front forks with 150mm travel and a Pro-Link rear mono-shock. In CB200X, suspension setup comprises USD front forks and a rear mono-shock, although it might offer a little less travel than the setup offered in CB150X.
    Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends in both motorcycles. Further, both ADVs ride on 17-inch alloy wheels which are of similar design. However, the ones rolling under CB200X are shod with slightly fatter 110-section front and 140-section tyres instead of 100-section front and 130-section rubber in CB150X. A 12-litre tank capacity ensures fuel supply in each motorcycle.

    Features & Engine Specs
    In terms of features, both CB150X and CB200X get all-LED lighting and a fully-digital LCD instrument console. Unfortunately, neither of them offers any kind of connectivity options but the one in CB150X offers more information and readouts than CB200X.
    The most critical difference lies at the heart of both these motorcycles. CB150X is powered by a 149.16cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine derived from CB150R. Although Honda hasn’t revealed exact engine output in the ADV, in the naked streetfighter, this motor kicks out 16.5 bhp at 9,000rpm and a peak torque of 13.8 Nm at 7,000rpm. This unit is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
    On the other hand, CB200X is powered by a 184.4cc fuel-injected single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. This unit pushes out 17 bhp at 8500rpm and 16.1Nm of peak torque at 6000rpm. More

    650 Twins 120th Anniversary edition details
    Special edition 650 twins get multiple cosmetic updates including a new colour theme. A new ‘120th Anniversary’ edition logo can be seen on top of the fuel tank. There’s golden pinstriping as well, which is referred to as Madras stripes. On the side of fuel tank, there’s a new round 3D badge with RE logo. These updates enhance the bike’s retro profile and provide a better connect with the brand’s glorious past.
    In terms of hardware, 650 twins 120th anniversary edition will be the same as current model. The bikes are powered by 648cc parallel twin-cylinder, air cooled engine that generates 47 hp of max power at 7150 rpm and 52.3 Nm of peak torque at 5150 rpm.     650 Twins 120th Anniversary edition India launch
    After its global unveil, 120th anniversary 650 twins are likely to be introduced in India as well. Most features will be the same as showcased at the time of global unveil. The updates are likely to push the price of the twins a bit higher. Standard 650 twins are priced in the range of Rs 2.7 lakh to Rs 3.2 lakh.
    Super Meteor 650cc cruiser
    Royal Enfield will also unveil a new 650cc cruiser at EICMA. Once launched, it will be the new flagship for the company. The bike has been spotted on road tests, which reveals that it is a perfect fit for long distance on-road touring. It will be unveiled as Super Meteor and could borrow some styling bits from Meteor 350. As for the hardware, Super Meteor will be using the same engine as 650 twins.
    The bike has a retro profile with features such as round headlamp, round rear view mirrors, and broad rear fenders. A large windscreen can be seen at front, which is both functionally and visually relevant. Users can expect comfortable rides, as the bike has forward-set footpegs and ergonomically placed handlebar.     Bajaj will be gradually phasing out the older generation Pulsar motorcycles with the new-gen models in the future which may comprise a Pulsar RS 250
    The launch of the new Pulsar 250 siblings- N250 and F250 has set the podium for Bajaj Auto to bring in the new generation Pulsar models. Two decades back when the Pulsar sub-brand was launched, the company started with Pulsar 150 and Pulsar 180. This time around Bajaj has taken a top-to-down approach by launching the biggest model first.
    The Chakan-based bikemaker has revealed that there will be multiple new models based on the new chassis which will be replacing the older generation of Pulsar models. With two iterations of the quarter-litre Pulsar already hitting the market, Bajaj might contemplate a third one by introducing Pulsar RS 250.
    A fully-faired version of Pulsar 250 might complete the flagship lineup of quarter-litre Pulsars. The RS 250 would sit right on top of the Pulsar portfolio as the most premium model followed by the semi-faired F250 and the naked N250. Pulsar 250 has been digitally re-imagined as a fully-faired sports bike by design artist Pratyush Rout wrapped around multiple colour options.

    The digital renderings of RS 250 show a few visual similarities with its semi-faired sibling like the same single-beam projector headlight flanked by twin LED DRLs. Unlike F250, RS 250 flaunts a fully-faired body that covers most of the internals and running gear and only exposes a part of the engine, frame and rear subframe. The motorcycle also gets a chunkier front mudguard thus enhancing its ‘big bike’ appeal.

    Another visible variation is a larger front windscreen which would provide greater protection from wind blasts at higher speeds. The fuel tank in RS 250 looks a lot beefier than the one in F250 or N250 and mimics contemporary high-end sports bikes. The tail section is identical to the current 250cc Pulsars with a slightly raked pillion seat and split grab rails.
    Other visual similarities include a split-seating setup, a stubby exhaust canister, an engine underbelly cowl and a rear tyre hugger. Colour-coded alloy wheel rims have been carried forward from the 250cc siblings that add to the visual appeal of Pulsar RS 660. Design of the alloy wheels has been updated as well which provides further distinction between F250 and RS 250.
    Similar mechanicals to N250, F250
    Powering RS 250 will be the same 249cc single-cylinder, SOHC, two-valve, oil-cooled engine which kicks out 24.5 bhp and 21.5 Nm of peak torque. This engine is paired with a five-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch. Hardware configurations of the motorcycle also appear to be identical to the other two siblings.
    This includes a suspension setup that comprises 37mm telescopic forks at front and mono-shock at rear. Braking duties will be handled by single disc brakes at both ends aided by a single-channel ABS. Whether or not Bajaj will introduce such a motorcycle in future can only be verified by the company.
