800-HP Yenko S/C Silverado Is a Supercharged Chevy Hauler

Specialty Vehicle Engineering

Specialty Vehicle Engineering, the Toms River, New Jersey, shop responsible for the “new” 750-hp GMC Canyon Syclone, has just released another tuner special. Dubbed the Yenko S/C Silverado, it’s the 800-hp Chevy hauler of your fantasies.

The Yenko S/C Silverado uses the truck’s optional 6.2-liter V-8 engine as a base, equipped with forged internals, CNC-ported heads, an upgraded fueling system, and a centrifugal supercharger with an air-to-water intercooler, the result of which is a massive 800 horsepower and 720 lb-ft of torque. Available with two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, power is sent to the wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission that’s been treated to upgraded clutch packs and a stronger torque converter. There are Specialty Vehicle Engineering–built long-tube headers and a stainless-steel exhaust with quad tips.

Of course, it’s not just the powertrain that’s been beefed up. Beneath the 22-inch forged aluminum wheels sit Brembo brakes that measure 16.1 inches up front, available in any color the buyer desires. SVE also adds bigger sway bars and upgraded springs that drop the ride height by two inches up front and five inches in the rear. Also note the funky “Yenko S/C” graphics and badges along the body.

The best part about this truck isn’t the power or looks, though—it’s the warranty. Specialty Vehicle Engineering will supply a three-year/36,000-mile warranty with every one of the 50 Yenko S/C Silverados it plans to build. Moreover, the tuner says the truck should be available to order and be serviced at any Chevy dealer. Pricing for the package starts at $79,995, plus the cost of a donor truck.
