Available in international markets, the BYD Sealion 7 has a range of up to 502 km and top speed of 214 km/h
In the electric segment in India, BYD is currently ranked 4th in terms of volumes. With positive market response, BYD is looking to further strengthen its presence by introducing new products. One of these will be the BYD Sealion 7, the brand’s new flagship SUV for the Indian market.
BYD Sealion 7 – Elegance in every detail
Part of BYD’s Ocean Series, the Sealion 7 has an aerodynamic, visually striking design. Credit for the SUV’s captivating profile goes to BYD’s Global Design Director, Wolfgang Egger. A seasoned professional, Egger had earlier worked with luxury car brands such as Lamborghini, Audi and Alfa Romeo.
Talking about the Sealion 7, the design language is inspired from the graceful, energetic flow of ocean waves. Some of the key highlights include sharp headlamps and DRLs, a low-slung bonnet, squared wheel arches and sporty alloy wheels in chrome finish. The fastback design and water drop tail lamps further enhance the SUV’s overall look and feel.
Premium features
Inside, the BYD Sealion 7 offers a multitude of advanced features. Some of the key highlights include a large 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system and premium Dynaudio system with 12 speakers. The electric SUV offers a head-up display and a panoramic sunroof with electric sunshade. The latter can be especially relevant for Indian weather conditions. There are ventilated and heated seats, a 50-watt wireless phone charger and electric lumbar and leg support for the driver seat. Users can set their preferred cabin mood with a 128-colour ambient lighting system.
Advanced safety equipment
BYD Sealion 7 comes with a comprehensive range of advanced safety features. One of the key highlights is the latest iTAC technology. By adjusting drive torque, the iTAC reduces the risk of skidding across slippery environments such as snow. iTAC ensures that users can access the full power of the SUV without compromising on safety. BYD Sealion 7 also utilizes the advanced CTB (cell-to-body) technology.
Another highlight is an advanced suspension system that is designed to reduce body roll and improve stability. The SUV has a state-of-the-art ADAS setup that actively tracks the ever-changing environment and minimizes risks. Safety is further enhanced with the use of BYD Blade battery, known for its reliability and robust thermal management.
BYD Sealion 7 – Performance, specs, range
Based on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0, the Sealion 7 is offered with battery pack options of 82.5 kWh and 91.3 kWh. The smaller battery pack supports both RWD and AWD variants, whereas the bigger battery pack is offered with only AWD variants. The RWD variants generate 313 PS and 380 Nm in comparison to 530 PS and 690 Nm of the AWD variants.
Talking about range, the smaller battery pack delivers 482 km with RWD and 456 km with AWD variants. The larger battery pack has a range of 502 km (WLTP). All variants of BYD Sealion 7 support 150 kW DC fast charging. Users can achieve 10% to 80% charge in just around 30 minutes.
