With a slew of 350cc, 450cc and 650cc motorcycles, Royal Enfield has established itself as a major motorcycle manufacturer in India. Products like Classic 350, Bullet 350, Himalayan 450, Hunter 350 and others, have made Royal Enfield the 6th best-selling 2W vehicle manufacturer in both domestic and export in November 2024.

In December 2024, Royal Enfield witnessed some setbacks in the domestic market, especially in MoM analysis. This is a common trend observed in this industry at the end of a calendar year. With a total of 79,466 units sold in December 2024, Royal Enfield triumphed as the company’s YoY sales analysis was Green all along.

Royal Enfield’s biggest strength is its 350cc portfolio and it shows in these sales charts too. With 69,476 units sold, 350cc motorcycle portfolio accounted for 87.43% of Royal Enfield’s total sales, up from 86.63% a month before. When compared to the 55,401 units sold in December 2023, 350cc bikes registered a 25.41% YoY growth with 14,075 units gained in volume YoY.

When compared to the 71,261 units sold in November 2024, there was a 2.50% MoM decline, losing 1,785 units in volume. Motorcycles > 350cc (411cc, 450cc and 650cc) accounted for 12.57% of company’s total sales. While this category also gained 25% in YoY aspects with 9,990 units sold, there was a greater 9.15% MoM decline, losing 1,006 units in volume.

Domestic sales are still the company’s forte and accounted for 85.43% of company’s total sales with 67,891 units sold last month. There was an 18.5% YoY growth and a 6.02% MoM decline in domestic sales. Exports, on the other hand, witnessed both YoY and MoM growth at the rate of 89.88% and 15.51%, gaining 5,479 and 1,554 units in volume respectively.

In total, Royal Enfield managed to push out 79,466 units last month. When compared to the 63,387 units from December 2023 and 82,257 units from November 2024, Royal Enfield witnessed a 25.37% YoY growth gaining 16,079 units in volume and a 3.39% MoM decline, losing 2,791 units in volume.

Q4 and YTD Sales Analysis

In Q4 2024, Royal Enfield sold a total of 2,72,297 units, with a 19.39% YoY growth over the 2,28,073 units sold in Q4 2023. Breaking up the numbers, 2,42,013 units were sold in domestic market with 13.42% YoY growth and 88.88% market share. Also, 30,284 units shipped to export markets, doubling in volume with 106.20% YoY growth.

Royal Enfield Sales Dec 2024 – Q4, YTD

YTD, the company’s sales prospects stood at an impressive 7,27,077 units with a 6.13% YoY growth, gaining 42,018 units in volume. The 350cc bikes accounted for 85.93% with 6,24,765 units and 2.09% YoY growth. The > 350cc bikes have increased their sales potential with 1,02,312 units and a healthy 39.94% YoY growth.

Domestic market registered a YTD growth of 3.58% with 6,52,857 units sold and accounted for 89.79% of RE’s total sales. The domestic volume growth stood at 22,584 units YoY. However, the growth in exports YTD, was healthier at 35.47% with 74,220 units shipped and gained 19,434 units in volume.
