Pulsar Classic range bikes will be utilizing an entirely new frame and get major engine tweaks and an updated suspension setup
Bajaj Pulsar Classic range currently includes the Pulsar 125, 150 and 220F. These have been among the preferred Pulsar bikes for several years. With the Pulsar range completing 25 glorious years in 2026, Bajaj is readying major updates for the Pulsar Classic bikes. Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150 could be the first to receive the updates. Let’s get more details on these developments.
2026 Pulsar Classic bikes – New chassis, reworked engine
Bajaj Pulsar Classic models utilize a traditional double-cradle frame with twin rear shock absorbers. In comparison, the Pulsar NS and RS bikes are based on a high-stiffness perimeter frame. These bikes utilize a monoshock suspension at the rear. Bajaj’s most modern platform is in use with the Pulsar N series bikes such as N125, N160 and N250.
These are based on an all-new tubular frame, which is designed for agility and enhanced weight distribution. Pulsar N series bikes also have a monoshock suspension at the rear. For the updated Pulsar Classic range, it is likely that the new-gen tubular frame of the N series will be used. Necessary tweaks could be introduced to the chassis to suit the riding character of Pulsar Classic bikes.
Users can expect an agile and balanced riding character with the updated Pulsar Classic bikes. While the current versions deliver peppy performance and stability, these can feel a bit heavy at times. The updated Pulsar Classic bikes will ensure a better overall ride experience. 2026 Pulsar Classic bikes are also expected to get a more refined engine.
The update could be similar to the air-cooled engines used with Pulsar N series bikes. Existing Pulsar Classic bikes utilize a DTS-i engine. The updated engines will be better aligned with the ride dynamics of the new chassis. It remains to be seen if there will be any gains in fuel efficiency as well.
Design updates, new tech features
Since Bajaj Pulsar Classic bikes are already preferred for their sporty presence, there may not be any major changes to the design of these bikes. Only some minor cosmetic touch-ups could be there. Updated Pulsar Classic bikes are likely to use a monoshock rear suspension, which will naturally ensure a sportier profile. Bajaj could also introduce some new colours and graphics with the updated versions.
Some new tech features could also be introduced with the 2026 Pulsar Classic bikes. The range-topping Pulsar 220F is currently equipped with a fully digital reverse monochrome LCD display with Bluetooth connectivity. Functions include access to calls, messages and turn-by-turn navigation. The bike also has a USB charging port.
Launch timeline
It is expected that Bajaj will introduce the updated 2026 Bajaj Pulsar Classic bikes around the festive season. Updated Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150 are expected to be launched first. A slight price hike could be there for these updated versions. Existing prices are Rs 86,000 (Pulsar 125), Rs 1.05 lakh (Pulsar 150) and Rs 1.28 lakh (Pulsar 220F).
