As seen in the company’s sales performance, Hero MotoCorp ended calendar year 2025 with 49% growth in exports and a 7.5% growth overall
2024 has been an eventful year for Hero MotoCorp. The company has taken significant strides in both domestic and export markets across both ICE and EV substrata. The company has increased its global presence with 8 new vehicles launched in CY 2024, in multiple markets based on demand and customer preferences.
Inauguration of an assembly facility in Nepal, announcement of a manufacturing facility in Brazil, commencement of operations in Philippines were some of the notable global endeavours in 2024. Launching Mavrick 440, Vida V2 lineup, Xtreme 125R, unveiling Destini 125 and expanding Hero Premia and Hero 2.0 showrooms were a few domestic endeavours.
Hero MotoCorp Sales Dec 2024
In December 2024, Hero MotoCorp sold a total of 3,24,906 units across its vast portfolio. But the 3,93,952 units sold in December 2023 and 4,59,805 units sold in November 2024 ensured that there was a 17.53% YoY and 29.34% MoM decline, losing 69,046 units YoY and 1,34,899 units MoM in volume.
Breaking down these numbers, we have 2,98,516 motorcycles that account for 91.88% of company’s total sales. Motorcycle sales saw a 15.83% YoY and a 29.90% MoM decline when compared to 3,56,658 units sold a year ago and 4,25,856 units sold a month before. Volume loss faced by Hero motorcycles stood at 56,142 units YoY and 1,27,340 units MoM.
Scooters accounted for 8.29% of Hero’s total sales with 26,930 units sold last month. Scooters witnessed a 31.47% YoY and 20.68% MoM decline, losing 12,364 units YoY and 7,019 units MoM in volume. Hero unveiled the new Destini 125 in 2024, which is likely to launch soon. It boasts major improvements over its predecessor.
In domestic market, Hero sold 2,94,192 units last month, facing a 22.15% YoY and 33.11% MoM decline. The saving grace for Hero was the exports, where the company shipped 30,574 units last month, yielding healthy figures of 89.78% YoY growth and 52.66% MoM growth. Exports gained 14,464 units YoY and 10,546 units MoM in volume.
Calendar Year Sales
With the end of calendar year 2024, Hero has closed the accounts on a positive note. The company sold a total of 59,11,065 units in CY 2024 (Jan 2024 – Dec 2024) including motorcycles and scooters. This was a 7.5% YoY growth over CY 2023. In exports too, Hero saw excellent growth in CY 2024, registering 49% YoY growth.
In Q4 2024, Hero sold 14,63,622 units from its manufacturing facilities with 0.25% YoY growth. 13,60,159 of these were motorcycles with 2.63% YoY growth and 92.93% market share. 1,04,183 of these units were scooters with a 22.63% YoY decline in sales. Hero’s domestic market share in Q4 2024 was 95.06% with 13,91,332 units sold and saw a 1.60% YoY decline. Exports stood at 72,290 units with 57.02% YoY growth.
In YTD analysis, only the scooters witnessed a YoY decline with 3,01,393 units sold with 9.78% de-growth. Motorcycles accounted for 93.33% of Hero’s total YTD sales with 42,17,249 units and 8.27% YoY growth. Domestic sales stood at 43,31,998 units with 5.79% YoY growth and exports stood at 1,86,644 units with 39.34% YoY growth. This resulted in a total of 45,18,642 units with 6.85% YoY growth.
