With a 79 kWh battery pack option, Mahindra XEV 9e promises up to 656 km (ARAI) range on a single charge and 500+ km real-world range
With the launch of BE 6 (originally intended to be called BE 6e) and XEV 9e, Mahindra has rewritten the Indian automotive history. This is especially true with premium and enthusiast products that have been gaining popularity in India. Ahead of a full-fledged launch and bookings, XEV 9e has reached showrooms in Chandigarh.
Mahindra XEV 9e In Showroom
It has to be noted that Mahindra has only announced the base price of BE 6 and XEV 9e, while these vehicles are yet to launch fully. Bookings for these vehicles are supposed to happen in January 2025 and even before that, XEV 9e has reached a dealer showroom in Chandigarh, as seen in a video by The Car Show.
In the video, we can see an XEV 9e Electric Origin SUV by Mahindra in the Tangy Red shade parked at a dealership in Chandigarh. This SUV is attracting a lot of eyeballs owing to its massive road presence and unique styling. Even in terms of size, XEV 9e is the largest Mahindra SUV in today’s time.
Pricing for base Pack One starts from Rs 21.9 lakh (Ex-sh), which is a decent price considering everything it offers and the size quotient. Because it is based on the born electric INGLO platform, Mahindra has managed to pack as much enthusiasm into this vehicle as they had an opportunity to design it from the ground up.
It is the only RWD vehicle in this segment that offers this level of performance. Speaking of, XEV 9e comes with either a 59 kWh or 79 kWh battery pack option. The highest performance ceiling with XEV 9e is 285 bhp and 380 Nm. All this performance is channelled through a single motor at the rear, capable of accelerating XEV 9e to 100 km/h in just 6.8 seconds.
Loaded with Tech!
Where features and creature comforts are concerned, Mahindra XEV 9e is fully loaded. On the outside, we get large LED DRL signatures, fully LED headlights and fog lights, attractive LED full-width tail light signature, flush door handle at the front, up to 20-inch alloy wheels, fat tyres, a glass roof integrated with ambient lighting and more.
On the inside, XEV 9e features a triple-screen layout, first time ever on any mainstream car in India. It also has a massive HUD that shows a lot of crucial information. The plastics on the inside and upholstery material lend a luxury vibe and a premium appeal. Despite the coupe shape, XEV 9e has good space for passengers.
Other notable features include remote parking, self-parking and Level-2 ADAD. There’s a 663L boot space to accommodate most of the belongings one could throw at it. Also, XEV 9e offers a 150L frunk under the hydraulically assisted bonnet. Range from a full charge is up to 656 km (ARAI certified) and Mahindra promises 500+ km of real-world range with AC on.
