Hot Wheels is holding its annual Legends Tour this year, beginning its search for its next fan-inspired die-cast car. The Tour has gone virtual for 2020, and Road & Track is proud to be teaming up with Hot Wheels to be one of its “stops” on the tour. Think you have what it takes to design a car for the storied die-cast brand?
Submit your designs here, and make sure to tune in to Road & Track’s YouTube page on September 10 at 8 p.m. ET to watch the judging panel live.
The Hot Wheels Legends Tour is now on its third year, and this time around, it’s set to be bigger than ever. The Road & Track “stop,” hosted by motorsports ambassador Jarod DeAnda, will feature professional drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr., Road & Track editor-in-chief Mike Guy, and Hot Wheels designers Steve Vandervate and Mark Jones. There are also going to be special appearances from professional drifter Pat Long.; DJ Skee, owner of DASH radio; and actor Paxton Booth. In addition to the judging, fans will be shown new Hot Wheels models available for purchase.
The host and judges will also be doing an unboxing of the latest R&T Crew subscription box, which comes packed with a Hot Wheels die-cast car. They’ll also talk about the R&T Crew Magazine—an issue of which is included in every R&T Crew box—and the Hot Wheels feature inside.
The finalists from each of the “stops” on Hot Wheels’ virtual tour will come together at the Virtual Grand Finale, set to go down in November. Until September 8, participants can submit photos and videos of their custom builds here for the chance to have their design included in the September 10 live stream.
