Each year, Toyota introduces a hot new color for the off-road-ready 4Runner, Tacoma, Tundra, and Sequoia TRD Pro models. We’ve seen some great attention-grabbing colors such as Army Green, Quicksand, and Voodoo Blue, and for the 2021 model year, the TRD Pro trucks get a subtle new Lunar Rock exterior color. As with the rest of the TRD Pro–specific exterior colors, we can’t stop daydreaming about getting them dirty.
Along with the bluish green and gray exterior color, the 2021 4Runner TRD Pro gets updated wheels. They look very similar to the ones we’ve come to know and love but with a more angular look, and they’re wrapped in Nitto Terra Grappler tires. In addition to the new shoes, the TRD Pros get updated 2.5-inch Fox internal-bypass shocks and TRD-tuned springs, which give an added inch of lift in the front. Sound familiar? That’s because the new 2020 Jeep Gladiator Mojave has a similar setup as well as an extra inch of lift up front compared to the Rubicon model.
Additionally, all 2021 4Runners will have standard LED headlights. Limited, blacked-out Nightshade, and TRD Pro models add LED high-beams with standard LED fog lights. And don’t forget the Tacoma, Tundra, and Sequoia TRD Pro models; they also get the Lunar Rock exterior color for the 2021 model year, but not the updated suspension setup or the LED lights.
The new trucks should all arrive toward the end of 2020 at a starting price around $51,000 for the 4Runner TRD Pro, $45,000 for the Tacoma TRD Pro, $50,000 for the Tundra TRD Pro, and $65,000 for the Sequoia TRD Pro.
