- Ford announced it will show the redesigned 2021 F-150 pickup truck June 25.
- This new generation is expected to feature new styling, a more luxurious interior, and a hybrid variant.
- Expect the 2021 F-150 to go on sale in the U.S. this fall.
Ford is preparing to show a new version of its hugely important F-150 pickup to the world. The redesigned 2021 Ford F-150 will officially debut during a live-streaming event this Thursday, June 25, at 8 pm Eastern time. It will be streamed on Facebook and other social media platforms. We’ve seen glimpses of the new truck in spy photos and illustrations, and Ford has now released an official teaser image that shows the F-150’s LED lighting signature.
The last time the F-150 got redesigned, it adopted a revolutionary aluminum body. This time around, the changes will be more evolutionary, as we’re expecting modernized exterior styling, upgraded V-6 and V-8 powertrains, and a more luxurious interior with lots of technology. A large vertically oriented touchscreen will be optional, and rumors suggest the F-150 will offer a “sleeper seat” option among other new features. A hybrid powertrain is also slated to join the lineup and Ford should release details about this new version on Thursday.
This reveal won’t be the end of the new F-150’s story, however, as high-performance Raptor and fully electric variants are further down the road. We should hear more about those models later this year and early next year.
Ford has said that the coronavirus pandemic will not affect the launch of the 2021 F-150 in terms of manufacturing. The standard 2021 Ford F-150 models are scheduled to start production within the coming months and will go on sale in the U.S. in the fall.
