Ashish Singh Joshi, CEO, Classic Legends stated, “Riding responsibly is one of the core ethos of our brand as well as our Kommuniti and the Jawa and Forty Two were ready to take on the stricter BSVI emission norms right from the time they were conceived. This is the key reason why both these motorcycles have kept their character and riding pleasure intact even after receiving the updates to make them more environment friendly.”
Following the successful launch of the Jawa and Jawa Forty Two, the company now gears up to bring in the new Jawa Perak. Bookings for this bobber styled motorcycle have opened with a token amount of Rs.10,000 which is fully refundable while deliveries are set to commence from early April 2020.
Jawa Perak will get a single seat, a rounded headlamp design and a tear drop shaped fuel tank. It gets a matte paint finish with a gold pinstripe on the tank while the tail light in integrated into the seat itself. The Perak gets a long wheelbase of 1485 mm, bar end mirrors and a blacked out treatment on the engine, exhaust and spoked wheels. It gets seat height of 750mm and a 14 liter fuel tank while kerb weight is at 179 kgs.
As compared to the other two Jawa bikes, the Perak gets a revised rear sub-frame and suspension set up. It sits on 18” wheel in the front and a 17” unit at the rear and suspension is via telescopic fork in the front and monoshock at the rear. Braking is via 280mm disc in the front and 240mm disc at the rear with dual channel ABS.
The 334cc single cylinder, liquid cooled engine that powers the Jawa Perak is BS6 compliant and offers 30hp and 31Nm of torque mated to a 6 speed transmission. This is higher than the 27hp power and 28Nm torque produced by the engine that powers the Jawa and Forty Two.
