Hero Connect App for Rs 4,999 – Pleasure, Xpulse, HF Deluxe, Passion

Hero MotoCorp has launched a new smartphone app called Hero Connect. This new app is currently launched for select Hero vehicles in 3 cities of India.

With growing customer preference for connected features, a number of manufacturers have launched these advanced systems across their cars and two-wheelers. Newest member to deploy connected tech is Hero MotoCorp, the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India and globally as well. The company has launched ‘Hero Connect’, a cloud and app based system aimed at improving ride experience for customers.

Hero Connect will usher in a new era in connected mobility for two-wheelers, as it will enable a range of internet connected smart features. It will be powered by an inbuilt SIM that will be securely installed in the vehicle. The device will connect to the cellular network and use cloud services to access and store a wide variety of data. To access this data and reports as well as the connected features, customers need to use the App provided by the company.

According to the company, Hero Connect will significantly improve safety and security of customers. The system offers advanced connected features, quite similar to the ones that are available in new cars such as Kia Seltos, Hyundai Venue, MG Hector, etc. With Hero Connect, customers can access features such as real-time vehicle tracking, tow away alerts, topple alert, speed alert and geo fence alert.

Till now, we haven’t seen such a comprehensive range of connectivity features being offered in everyday commuter bikes and scooters. The company will initially offer Hero Connect with four of its two-wheelers – XPulse 200, Pleasure+, Passion XPRO and HF Deluxe. Later, this connected tech will be introduced in other bikes and scooters manufactured by the company.

Another useful feature of Hero Connect is that it can help users improve their riding. The app can process ride data and analyse it against the behavioural and riding patterns of the user. It will then give a specific score to the rider, indicating how good or how bad is their riding. The app also provides feedback in terms of things that may be lacking and can be improved.

For example, the app can clearly tell if the rider has been speeding, idling, or pushing hard on the accelerator or brakes. Users will also be able to access their ride data for the last six months. It will include various details such as starting and end points, total time, distance travelled, route, speed, etc.

Hero Connect is currently being offered at an introductory price of Rs 4,999 for a one-year subscription. It is available only at select dealerships in Delhi, Noida and Pune. More cities are expected to be covered in the future based on demand.
