Hero Xtreme 125R Gets Single Seat Variant – Cruise Control Coming Soon

Hero Xtreme 125R Gets Single SeatNew single seat variant of Hero Xtreme 125R is around Rs 1,600 costlier than the base model and Rs 2,000 cheaper than the top variant
Hero MotoCorp is taking steps to strengthen its presence in the 125cc motorcycle segment. The company recently launched the Glamour X, which is India’s first 125cc bike with cruise control. In the latest development, Hero Xtreme 125R has been updated with the option of a single seat variant. Let’s check out the details and pricing.
Hero Xtreme 125R single seat variant
In the 125cc segment, Hero offers the Glamour, Glamour X, Glamour XTEC, Super Splendor XTEC and Xtreme 125R. Among the lot, Xtreme 125R stands out with its sporty design and striking presence. A split-seat setup complements its sporty profile and has been there since its launch.
Hero Xtreme 125R Gets Single Seat
For buyers who may be looking for the best of both worlds, Hero has now launched a single seat version of the Xtreme 125R. As even the single piece seat has a prominent step-up design, the overall silhouette does not change dramatically. The bike’s striking presence remains largely the same as earlier even with the single piece seat. Depending on the individual, the single piece seat could even be more attractive than the split seats.
With a single piece seat, pillion riders can expect better overall comfort. It is also better suited for practical applications in daily life. Colour options for the single seat Xtreme 125R are the same as available with other variants. Users can choose from three colour options – Cobalt Blue, Firestorm Red and Stallion Black.
Hero Xtreme 125R Gets Single Seat
Hero Xtreme 125R single seat variant is available at a starting price of Rs 1,00,100. In comparison, the top variant costs Rs 1,02,100. The base variant of Xtreme 125R starts at Rs 98,425. Hero’s move to add a single seat option with Xtreme 125R could be aimed at boosting competencies against rival offerings. For example, the primary rival TVS Raider 125 is also available with the option of a single seat variant. It is priced at Rs 93,865.
    Hero Xtreme 125R Cruise Control
Hero MotoCorp is gearing up to make the Xtreme 125R even more feature-packed, as the bike is set to become the second 125 cc motorcycle in India to get cruise control after the Glamour X. The upcoming variant is expected to include ride-by-wire throttle, three ride modes (Eco, Road, and Power), and a new colour LCD, essentially carrying forward all the tech seen on the Glamour X. A dedicated cruise control switch will make it easier for riders to maintain consistent speeds, while mode and menu buttons will enhance overall usability. With these upgrades, Hero will position the new top-spec Xtreme 125R variant above the current range, which already includes single-seat, split-seat, and ABS trims.
Hero Xtreme 125R Cruise Control Variant
    No mechanical updates
Core hardware specs for the single seat Xtreme 125R variant are the same as other variants. Powering the bike is a 124.7 cc air cooled engine that generates 11.55 PS and 10.5 Nm of torque. This engine is the same as seen with the Glamour X. It is paired with a 5-speed transmission. Rival TVS Raider utilizes a 124.8 cc air & oil cooled engine that generates 11.38 PS and 11.75 Nm. It is mated to a 5-speed transmission.
Hero Xtreme 125R has a diamond frame, with 37mm telescopic front forks and monoshock rear suspension. Both ends have 17-inch wheels, with 90/90 front and 120/80 rear tubeless tyres. Braking setup comprises 276 mm disc at the front and 130 mm drum brake at the rear. Single channel ABS is offered as standard with the single seat and top variant of Xtreme 125R. The base variant has 240 mm disc and 130 mm drum combo with IBS.

New KTM Twin-Cylinder Duke, Adventure Bikes Spied Testing – 490cc Incoming?

New KTM Twin-Cylinder DukeBased on earlier plans revealed by KTM, it is likely that these new twin-cylinder KTM bikes will fall in the 500–700cc category
To give enthusiasts more options, KTM appears to be working on new models. The middleweight segment holds strong potential and KTM seems to be actively focusing on it. Latest spy shots provide strong evidence, revealing all-new twin-cylinder KTM Duke and Adventure bikes. Let’s take a closer look at what KTM is planning.
KTM new twin-cylinder bikes – What to expect?
Looking at the spy shots, the test mules appear to be in the early- to mid-prototype testing stage. The engine looks production-spec, indicating that the platform is finalized and undergoing road validation. Bodywork is largely unfinished and makeshift panels are clearly evident. There are temporary components instead of production dashboards and switches, as commonly seen during the validation phase.
In the present format, it may take anywhere between 12-18 months for these bikes to reach showrooms. While the engine appears to be a smaller capacity twin-cylinder, the exact displacement is not known. Some of the equipment will make it to production stage such as the large windscreen and wire-spoke wheels of the Adventure bike. It also has a rear top box rack.
In comparison, the Duke has alloy wheels, a short tail section and split seats. While the Adventure bike has dual-purpose tyres, the Duke utilizes road-biased tyres. Wheels of the Adventure could be in the 21-18 or 19-17 combo. The Duke will likely have 17-inch wheels at both ends. Common features for both models include USD front forks, upswept exhaust and monoshock rear suspension.
    New KTM Twin-Cylinder Duke
    Displacement possibilities
Both the Duke and the Adventure have a single disc at the front. This presents a strong possibility of a small-capacity twin-cylinder prototype. Over the years, KTM has been looking to bridge the gap between its 390 cc and 790 cc range. This segment represents a big opportunity and rivals like Honda and Aprilia already have dedicated products in this space. BMW, TVS and Norton will also be launching their respective 450cc twin-cylinder bikes.
It remains to be seen whether KTM will directly target the displacement preferences of its rivals or carve out a more niche space for its new twin-cylinder bikes. For this segment, KTM’s plans have changed multiple times. For example, KTM CEO Stefan Pierer had said in 2019 that the brand is working on an all-new 490cc range of motorcycles. However, this plan was later permanently axed due to high development costs and low commercial potential.
KTM then transitioned to the idea of developing an all-new 690cc range. These bikes were planned to be made in China by KTM’s partner CFMoto. But KTM changed its strategy again by rethinking a new twin-cylinder platform that would be manufactured in India. Bikes based on this platform are planned to target overseas markets such as Australia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Nepal.
Made-in-India strategy will work better for these markets in terms of pricing and logistics. Pierer had earlier also said that the first bike to be launched in this range will be a Duke. An Adventure and RC could be introduced at a later date.

Ather EL Concept TeasedGiven Ather’s track record of innovation, enthusiasts can look forward to some truly unique features in the new EL concept
Ather is developing a new EL platform to strengthen its presence in the mainstream electric two-wheeler market. It will be unveiled at Ather Community Day, scheduled for 30th August. A concept based on the EL platform will also be showcased. Ahead of that, Ather has released a new teaser that reveals the concept’s silhouette. Let’s check out the details.
Ather EL Concept – What to expect?
While the teaser silhouette doesn’t reveal finer details, one can see hints of a family-oriented scooter. Key features expected include a traditional fender design, chunky front apron, rectangular headlamp housing and a long and wide seat. Storage spaces are likely to be there at the front and under the seat. The floorboard area is flat and seems large enough for everyday needs.
    Ather EL Concept Teased
As the primary target will be family-oriented users, the scooter will have a largely traditional approach for body panels and graphics. Ather EL concept is expected to have a more approachable character compared to the Ather 450 and Rizta. While the teaser doesn’t reveal much, some distinctive features are likely to be part of the EL concept.
In the teaser, it has been mentioned that the new EL platform will be extremely versatile, lower cost and highly scalable. It implies that the EL platform can seamlessly support a variety of scooter models. With distinctive design and features, these models can meet diverse customer needs. Some models can be created exclusively for export markets.

EL platform is expected to incorporate modular components, allowing easy switching of battery packs, motors and related components, based on the model. To reduce cost, it is possible that EL concept could be using more affordable Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries. These are not only low cost, but also last longer than traditional Lithium-ion batteries. Tech kit could be simplified with basic functions, instead of advanced connectivity or ride-assist features.
Ather EL Concept Teased – Battery
    Chasing volumes
Ather is positioned as a premium EV brand and currently ranked 4th in the list of bestselling electric two-wheelers. In July, Ather had a market share of close to 16%. As of now, the bestselling Ather scooter is the Rizta. It recently achieved the 1 lakh sales milestone in less than a year of launch.
With the new EL range, Ather will have improved capabilities to target the entry-level electric scooter segment. This space is currently dominated by TVS, Bajaj and Ola Electric. It is likely that Ather is looking at a starting price of around Rs 90,000 to 1 lakh. Prices could be even more accessible if Ather decides to offer a special no-frills base variant.
Ather EL Concept Teased – Suspension
Ather is also likely to offer BaaS option with its scooters based on the EL platform. With BaaS, Ather EL scooters could emerge as one of the most affordable. BaaS was recently introduced by Ather, making the Rizta available at just Rs 75,999. Users choosing the BaaS for Ather 450 can have it at Rs 84,341.

Himalayan 750 Touring Model Spied In Production Guise – Launch Soon

Himalayan 750 Touring ModelIt is expected that Himalayan 750 could be unveiled at 2025 EICMA and later launched at Royal Enfield Motoverse 2025
As part of its multi-dimensional expansion strategy, Royal Enfield is working on several new models including electric bikes. Also under development is a new range of 750 cc bikes. First to launch among these could be the Himalayan 750, spotted multiple times on road tests. Latest spy shots reveal a tourer version of the Himalayan 750. Let’s check out the details.
Himalayan 750 tourer – Styling and features
As compared to earlier test mules that had wire-spoke wheels, this tourer version can be seen with alloy wheels. One can also notice a circular digital cluster, similar to that of Himalayan 450, Super Meteor 650 and other Royal Enfield bikes. Earlier this year in April, a Himalayan 750 test mule spotted in Europe was seen with a rectangular digital console.
    Himalayan 750 Touring Model
Royal Enfield 750cc bikes will aggressively target overseas markets including Europe and North America. There are likely to be some differences in equipment list, as compared to India-spec models. Features common across all test mule sightings include the round headlamp, a large windscreen, sculpted fuel tank and prominent tank extensions.
Himalayan 750 has two-into-one exhaust pipes with a high-mounted side canister, split seats and robust grab rails. Pannier mounts are available and there’s a top box rack as well. Riding stance is upright and comfortable, made possible with the centrally positioned footpegs and a wide handlebar. This relaxed rider triangle seems apt for long distance touring, as rider comfort can be optimized. Spy shot video below credit to PowerDrift.
    [embedded content]
    Reworked chassis, re-engineered engine
Royal Enfield Himalayan 750 will be using a new frame and subframe. Powering the bike will be a 750cc, parallel-twin engine, expected to deliver around 50-55 hp and 60 Nm of peak torque. It will be paired with a 6-speed transmission. This 750cc engine is likely to be a re-engineered version of the existing 648 cc engine. The higher capacity could have been achieved by using a bigger bore. The 648cc engine delivers 47 hp and 52 Nm of torque.
With the more powerful 750cc engine, users can expect enhanced cruising capabilities. The bike will be getting premium features such as cruise control and a range of Bluetooth-based connectivity functions. Turn-by-turn navigation is expected to be part of the tech kit. With increased power output, the braking setup has been upgraded with dual discs at the front. Royal Enfield’s 650cc motorcycles are equipped with a single front disc brake. At the rear, Himalayan 750 has a single disc brake. Wheel size is 19-inch front and 17-inch rear.
Suspension setup comprises USD front forks and a monoshock rear shock absorber. It is likely that the suspension will be adjustable, allowing users to customize as per their needs and preferences. The bike should be able to handle mild to moderate off-road tracks. Upon launch, Royal Enfield Himalayan 750 will rival the likes of Kawasaki Versys 650 and Suzuki V-Strom 650. Royal Enfield is also working on other 750cc models such as Continental GT-R 750 and Interceptor 750.

Hero Glamour X Details Leak Before Launch – Cruise Control, New TFT Screen

New Hero Glamour X Details LeakHero MotoCorp is India’s de facto motorcycle manufacturer, all thanks to its vastly successful commuter bikes. The company has had a good run and is now working on their next generation 125cc commuter bike. Ahead of launch, details of this upcoming next gen 125cc commuter have been leaked, revealing interesting details. Let’s take a closer look.
Hero Glamour X 125 Details Leak
For starters, the new leaked video reveals the name of Hero MotoCorp’s upcoming commuter motorcycle. Glamour X. That’s what Hero is calling their next generation 125cc commuter bike. The company assures that Glamour X will be India’s most futuristic 125cc 2W offering.
New Hero Glamour X Fuel Tank
The claim might very well be true as Hero Glamour X is set to debut Cruise Control feature, which is unheard of in this 125cc commuter space. In fact, Cruise Control is unheard of even in sporty and premium 125cc motorcycles. Also, Glamour X is the first ever motorcycle from Hero MotoCorp to offer Cruise Control, which is quite a statement.
New Hero Glamour X Cruise Control
In latest leaks, we can see a toggle on right hand switchgear that operates Cruise Control features, which is unusual for a 125cc budget commuter. However, it could be a speed limiter function as well. Either way, an electronic throttle (ride-by-wire) is highly likely to be on this motorcycle.
New Hero Glamour X LED Headlights, Indicators
    What else is new?
While Cruise Control is the star of this show, other notable elements seen with Hero Glamour X include a new fully digital instrument cluster, which seems to be a colour LCD panel, similar to the one seen on Karizma XMR 210 Base variant and Xtreme 250R. There are tell-tale lights flanking this screen and there seems to be an gear shift light as well, probably tuned to eke out maximum fuel efficiency.
New Hero Glamour X LCD Instrument cluster
This cluster might pack less features than Xtreme 250R. It is likely to support connected features via Bluetooth like notification alerts and turn-by-turn navigation. Also, Hero is offering a Type-C port on Glamour X, a first ever for a Hero MotoCorp bike. We can see LED turn indicators and one can expect a stylistic fuel tank with muscular tank shrouds too.
    New Hero Glamour X Engine
Other notable elements include an upmarket-looking alloy wheel design, a front disc brake setup, telescopic front suspension, an engine kill-switch, full LED headlight and tail lights and an updated switchgear on left side to operate this new LCD screen. Hero seems to have employed an underbone chassis with Glamour X.
    [embedded content]
Powering Hero Glamour X could be the same 124.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine with a peak power of 10.39 bhp and peak torque of 10.4 Nm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Considering there is an electronic ride-by-wire throttle and the ‘Most Futuristic 125cc’ promise, we can expect a slipper clutch too. Launch is tomorrow on 19th August, 2025. More

E20 Petrol Debate: Ethanol Blending Is the Future – But Forcing Consumers Isn’t

E20 Petrol DebateIndia’s transition to ethanol-blended fuel is being pitched as a landmark step toward energy security, farmer welfare, and reduced emissions. On paper, it makes sense. Ethanol is renewable, lowers carbon emissions, and reduces India’s dependence on costly crude imports. The government’s own data shows that blending has already saved over Rs 1.40 lakh crore in foreign exchange and supported the rural economy. Yet, the rollout of E20 petrol has triggered widespread public backlash – not because people oppose ethanol, but because they oppose being left without choice.
    Consumers Want Options, Not Compulsion
The core of the public’s frustration is simple: why should E20 be the only option? If E0 (pure petrol), E10 and E15 are available globally, why not in India? For many owners of older cars and two-wheelers, E20 brings genuine concerns of reduced fuel efficiency, compatibility issues, and potential engine damage. Automakers themselves have said that full E20 compliance was achieved only from April 2023 onward. That leaves millions of vehicles on Indian roads potentially vulnerable.
    E20 Petrol Debate – Source
While the Ministry insists that studies by ARAI, SIAM, and Indian Oil show “no significant wear-and-tear,” real-world consumer experiences often diverge from lab results. The ministry admits a 1–2% mileage drop in newer E10-calibrated cars and 3–6% in older ones, but community fact-checks point to ethanol’s lower calorific value, which results in about 7% energy loss per litre. Consumers are understandably wary of being told this is “marginal.”
    The Price Promise That Wasn’t
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had famously said that ethanol-based petrol would be cheaper: “Diesel at Rs 50/litre and petrol alternative at Rs 55/litre.” Today, E20 is sold at the same price as regular petrol, despite its lower energy content. This means consumers are paying the same, but getting fewer kilometers per litre – effectively a hidden cost increase. If the government truly wants to build trust, fulfilling the earlier promise of lower pump prices for E20 is critical.
    E20 Petrol Debate – Source
    Passing the Burden to Consumers
New report claims that some automakers are now working on E20 upgrade kits for older vehicles, priced between Rs 4,000– Rs 6,000. While this is a constructive step, many consumers ask why they should bear additional costs for a government-mandated fuel shift. After all, they already paid for vehicles designed for E0 or E10 and continue to pay rising fuel prices. Forcing them to retrofit their vehicles to avoid damage feels like shifting the burden entirely to the consumer.
Ethanol Blending is the Future – But Must Be Fair
It is important to note that the public is not against ethanol. Most agree that supporting farmers, reducing emissions, and saving forex are worthy goals. The backlash is not against E20 itself – it is against the lack of choice and the broken promise of affordability.
Give consumer options – Image Team BHP
If India truly wants to lead in green mobility, the way forward must be flexibility and transparency:
    – Offer E0, E10, and E20 at fuel pumps so consumers can choose what suits their vehicle.– Price E20 lower to reflect its lower energy content and earlier ministerial promises.– Support retrofit kits through subsidies or incentives instead of passing the full cost to owners.– Communicate transparently, acknowledging real-world efficiency drops instead of downplaying them.
Ethanol blending is a bold step for India’s future, but forcing consumers without choice risks alienating the very people this policy is meant to serve. A fair, flexible, and consumer-first approach will not only ease the transition but also ensure that India’s ethanol story is one of trust, not resentment. More
