Mahindra Last Mile Mobility was the leader in this segment in FY22, FY23, FY24 and now, FY25. Firmly grasping this segment in its hand while facing stiff competition from rival brands.
    Mahindra Commercial EVs
In the commercial EV space, Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited operates a successful portfolio consisting of electric 3W (Treo, Treo Yaari, e-Alfa Plus, e-Alfa Cargo, Zor Grand and Treo Zor) along with the recently launched electric 4W (Zeo).?? Treo has been the bread and butter vehicle for MLMML.
    Mahindra Treo ZOR EVs
Treo lineup has achieved quite a few spectacular feats. From celebrating 1,000 unit sales milestone of Treo in April 2021, Treo has now surpassed 1 lakh unit sales milestone as well. MLMML remains the only electric commercial vehicle manufacturer in India to sell over 2 lakh commercial EVs.
For the fourth consecutive year, Mahindra has maintained leadership in commercial EV space. The company maintains 37.3% market share in L5 category and is among the major driving forces behind the success of this segment.

New Kia Carens EV Spied While Getting Charged

    New Kia Carens EV Spied
Kia is on the verge of launching its maiden mass-market electric offering. This vehicle has been spied testing multiple times and is speculated to be packing the same powertrain as Hyundai Creta Electric. The recent test mules of this upcoming Kia EV have been spied charging from its front charging port while donning registration plates from Tamil Nadu State. Let’s take a closer look.
    New Kia Carens EV Spied
One of India’s leading car manufacturers, Kia, has been expanding its portfolio to incorporate more premium vehicles. The company is launching a new premium MPV positioned above Carens, which will also spawn an electric version. The recent test mule is the electric version and was spied at a charging station while being fully covered.
New Kia Carens EV Front Charging Port
Based out of Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh, most of the test mules of Kia vehicles usually bear temporary (Red) AP registration plates. However, the latest test mules of Kia Carens EV spied, donned Tamil Nadu registration plates. Because this vehicle was covered, it creates a slight confusion of being a Hyundai vehicle.
Kia Carens EV Front Charging Port
However, that is not the case as the wheels on this particular vehicle are unmistakably Kia Carens EV. Another confusion leaning towards a Hyundai test mule probability is the front charging port, which is also seen on Hyundai Creta Electric. That said, previous test mules of Kia Carens EV have established that it is donning a front charging port as well.
Upcoming Electric Cars In 2025 – Kia Carens EV and Hyundai Creta EV
The reason why Carens EV test mule has a front charging port is because it is speculated to be packing the same powertrain as Creta Electric. In the past, both Creta Electric and Carens EV have been spied testing together as well. That could explain the Tamil Nadu registration plates on this particular vehicle.
    What to expect?
If this turns out to be true, Kia Carens EV might offer the same 42 kWh pack good for a claimed 390 km on a single charge and the larger 51.4 kWh pack good for a claimed 473 km on a single charge. Peak power might be the same at 170 bhp and 255 Nm from a single motor driving the front wheels.
    New Kia Carens EV
New Kia Carens EV will carry forward Carens’ overall silhouette while bringing EV5’s front and rear design language along with Kia’s signature geometric alloy wheel design. It is less likely to carry forward the Carens name, though. Syros-inspired interiors with the 30-inch Trinity Display are a possibility with Level-2 ADAS, Kia Connect 2.0 and other features.

    Honda E-VO Electric Motorcycle Type-Approved (WH8000D) – Launch Soon?

Honda E-VO Electric BikeIt is expected that Honda E-VO will be using the Mobile Power Pack e:, the brand’s swappable battery system
Honda is working on multiple new electric two-wheelers, one of which is the WH8000D electric motorcycle. As type-approval has been received, launch is expected soon. In the past, there have been many concepts from legacy bike makers, but only few have seen the light of day. Let’s take a look at some of the key details of Honda WH8000D electric motorcycle, which looks rather promising.
    Honda WH8000D / E-VO – What to expect?
Upcoming Honda E-VO utilizes a neo-retro cafe racer design in a futuristic format. Some of the key highlights include a round headlamp, old-school headlamp cowl, circular bar-end mirrors, pulled-back handlebar and a single-piece tan seat. The bike has sleek and aerodynamic side panels that ensure a futuristic look and feel. The panels create a sizable enclosure that houses the battery pack and the electric drivetrain.
Graphics are almost non-existent, ensuring a minimalistic profile for the electric motorcycle. Visually, there is only a dual-tone colour theme with a few yellow stripes. The badging elements include ‘E-VO’ and ‘Honda’. However, the tasteful blend of retro and futuristic design elements has ensured a distinctive profile for Honda E-VO. When launched, the bike is expected to offer more striking colour options.
    Honda E-VO – Performance, specs
Equipped with an 8 kW (11 HP) electric motor, the Honda E-VO is positioned as a fun city commuter motorcycle. The 8 kW is the continuous power, which means the peak power will be higher. In terms of performance, the Honda E-VO will be comparable to a 150cc petrol powered motorcycle. Combined with its sleek, aerodynamic profile, Honda E-VO can effortlessly zip through city streets. It can also be fun to ride across highways.
    Honda E-VO Electric Bike
Dimensions appear compact and could be similar to the size of a Grom or CFMoto Papio. This could make the bike a popular choice among commuters and casual riders. Honda E-VO will be available in two variants. The base variant will weigh 143 kg and have a top speed of 110 km/h. The top variant weighs 157 kg and has a top speed of 120 km/h.
    Swappable batteries
While battery details have not been revealed, it is likely that Honda E-VO will be using Honda’s swappable Mobile Power Pack e:. Honda has been developing its battery swapping infrastructure in multiple markets including India, Japan, Thailand and Indonesia. From a business perspective and to ensure a hassle-free experience for consumers, it is likely that E-VO will be using the same battery swapping infrastructure.
It remains to be seen when Honda launches the E-VO electric motorcycle. The distinctive full-faired cafe racer design can appeal to folks who are looking for something truly unique. With competitive pricing and backed by the convenience of battery swapping tech, Honda E-VO has potential to emerge a bestseller.
    Honda E-VO Electric Bike
As of now, Honda continues to derive much of its revenue from petrol-powered two-wheelers. However, the company is gradually increasing its focus on the EV segment. Some EV products are already on sale across global markets such as Honda EM1 e, CUV e and ICON e. In India, Honda has launched the Activa e: and Honda QC1. More

Royal Enfield Electric Bike to Get Vibration Module and Fake Exhaust – To Keep ‘Dug Dug’ Fans Happy

Royal Enfield Electric Bike RenderApril 1, 2025 – In a move that has left the internet both confused and in splits, Royal Enfield has reportedly decided to fit its upcoming electric motorcycle, the Flying Flea, with an artificial vibration module and a digital exhaust system to replicate the iconic “dug dug” thump. The reason? To ensure it still feels like a real Royal Enfield.
After showcasing the Flying Flea — a light, silent, retro-inspired electric bike — RE purists were left clutching their helmets, wondering where the trademark vibrations had gone. With the absence of a heavy clutch, loud exhaust, and a chassis that tries to shake your bones loose, many said they “couldn’t recognise it as a Royal Enfield.”
According to highly unreliable sources close to the brand, Royal Enfield engineers have now been tasked with adding two key “heritage restoration” elements to the Flying Flea:
    1. The Dug-Dug Emulator (DDE): A Bluetooth-powered exhaust speaker that plays a loop of Royal Enfield’s classic thump — complete with gear shifts, false neutrals, and the occasional backfire.
    2. VibeBoost 650 Module™: A handlebar and footpeg-mounted vibration motor that mimics the exact tremors of a Cast Iron Bullet on idle. Riders will have the option to select modes — “Mild Massage”, “Classic Shaker”, and “Full-On Bullet”.
A prototype was apparently tested on a loyal fan who claimed, “I didn’t even realise it was electric until I reached home and saw I hadn’t spilled engine oil in the parking.”
Industry experts are calling this “the most Royal Enfield thing ever” — bringing modern technology only to simulate the past.
Meanwhile, other motorcycle manufacturers are reportedly looking into similar “heritage add-ons”, including oil-leak simulators and kick-start-only variants to appeal to nostalgic buyers.
When contacted, Royal Enfield didn’t confirm or deny the development, but a spokesperson smiled and said, “Stay thumpy, my friends.”
    Happy April Fools’ Day! More

KTM 690 Rally Spied Ahead Of Launch – Gets 3 Fuel Tanks

New KTM 690 Rally SpiedDespite battling an economic crisis, KTM is pushing ahead with its new motorcycle launches and has not put a brake on innovation. This is clearly seen with the new spy shots of KTM 690 Rally (name not confirmed) which is based on 690 Enduro R, but gets more components and features seen on limited edition 450 Rally Replica. Let’s take a closer look.
    KTM 690 Rally Spied
In KTM’s global lineup, we have the 690 Enduro R priced at around USD 12,999 (approx Rs 11.11 L) and then we have 890 Adventure R priced at USD 15,799 (approx Rs 13.5 L). There is a gray area between these two motorcycles where KTM can carve out an adventure-tourer and that’s exactly what the company seems to be doing.
Spied testing abroad, KTM’s newest adventure tourer could be called 690 Adventure R or more befitting, 690 Rally. The name 690 Rally is speculated because of how close this motorcycle looks to KTM’s extremely limited 450 Rally Replica that costs a whopping USD 40,000 (approx Rs 34.18 L) and the 100 units for 2025 are sold out.
    New KTM 690 Rally Spied
It is based on the popular KTM 690 Enduro R, but gets styling cues from 450 Rally Replica. For starters, we can see the same mainframe, seat, underseat fuel tank, wheels, braking and suspension components along with the beak as 690 Enduro R. Where it digress, is with the tall front windshield along with vertically oriented projector headlights.
    Three fuel tanks!
These are reminiscent of 450 Rally Replica along with tower-like orientation for instrument console. Notably, the recently spied KTM 690 Rally gets three fuel tanks. The main under-seat tank (13.6L) with filler at the back is identical to that of 690 Enduro. But there are two extra fuel tanks on either side of this motorcycle where tank shrouds usually go.
These tanks get dedicated fillers on either side too and significantly increases the fuel capacity, which is appreciated in both off-roading and touring communities alike. Also different on 690 Rally is the heat shield on the exhaust setup. KTM 690 Enduro R weighs around 148 kg and we can speculate 690 Rally to weigh slightly more than that.
    New KTM 690 Rally Spied
Powering this motorcycle we have a 693cc single-cylinder engine that is capable of pumping out 74 bhp of peak power in 690 Enduro R. Which is plenty for touring and off-roading, considering the expected weight figures on this motorcycle. The same tune is likely to be carried over to 690 Rally as well. Launch is likely to happen in the coming months.
