2025 Rolls-Royce Spectre Black Badge Adds More Power to the Equation

The Rolls-Royce Spectre has a new Black Badge variant that adds 73 horsepower, making it the most powerful Rolls ever. The additional power is accessible with a new Infinity drive mode, while a new Spirited mode enables launch control. Rolls-Royce claims that client demand for a sportier Spectre prompted the creation of a secret fleet of early Black Badge models. The most powerful Rolls-Royce to ever saunter down the motorways is here and isn’t powered by a silky-smooth V-12. Instead, the crown goes to the new Black Badge version of the Rolls-Royce Spectre electric coupe. The legendary automaker has been using the Black Badge moniker to denote its high-performance models for nearly a decade, but the Spectre is the first EV to get the title. As with the standard Spectre (if anything about the Spectre can be called standard), the Black Badge comes with all-wheel drive and a pair of electric motors. The standard car’s 577 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque are more than enough to hustle the grand two-door down the boulevard, and the performance version should be even quicker, as it packs 650 horsepower and 793 pound-feet of torque. The maximum number of horses is only accessible via the new Infinity driving mode that improves accelerator response and gives the gauge display a sportier arrangement. The max torque comes into play with a new Spirited drive mode that essentially acts as a launch-control system. The mode is engaged by pressing the brake and accelerator to the floor at the same time, waiting for the go-ahead from the car, and then letting it rip. Rolls says that the increase in power and the launch system mean the Spectre Black Badge can sprint to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds, but considering we managed just 3.7 seconds in our testing of the standard car, we expect the performance model to do even better. To “inspire clients to wield the unprecedented power of Black Badge Spectre with confidence,” Rolls-Royce engineers increased the steering weight and fiddled with the dampers to reduce body roll and squatting under acceleration. We’re not sure exactly how much Rolls-Royce is asking for the Black Badge version of its EV coupe, but we imagine it’s a sizable increase compared with the 2025 Spectre’s $422,750 starting price.More on the RR SpectreJack Fitzgerald’s love for cars stems from his as yet unshakable addiction to Formula 1. With the shifting trends in Indian electric car segment, Tata Motors has been surpassed in sales by JSW MG Motor with the raging popularity of Windsor EV. Tata is making major revisions to the Nexon EV Long Range (LR) variants in 2025 as per a new strategy, as it aims to boost sales and re-establish dominance in India’s electric car segment.
2025 Tata Nexon EV 40 kWh Variants
Post the launch of Curvv EV, Tata Motors made major revisions to Nexon EV in powertrains department. For the first time, we saw the launch of 45 kWh Nexon EV LR variants, which is the same unit seen in lower variants of Curvv EV. Before this update, Nexon EV used to get a 40.5 kWh battery pack with its LR versions.
Updated Tata Nexon EV Launched – Red Dark Edition
In February 2025, Tata discontinued the LR versions of Nexon EV equipped with this 40.5 kWh battery pack. The company has not cited a reason behind this move. Tata is yet to reveal whether this is a permanent move or a temporary one as the company’s official website de-lists Nexon EV LR 40.5 kWh variants.
With this move, Nexon EV is now offered with just two battery pack options – a 30 kWh unit or a 45 kWh battery pack option. The 40.5 kWh battery pack acted as a decent middle ground between 30 kWh and 45 kWh, which is not on sale anymore. Range promised by the company is 275 km with 30 kWh battery pack and 489 km with 45 kWh battery pack.

MG Windsor EV Records 15k Production Milestone – 200 New Bookings Everyday

MG WindsorIndia’s electric car segment has witnessed a new champion in the form of MG Windsor EV. This is India’s first CUV which has appealed to the country’s electric car buyers. It has quickly climbed the ladder of success and has emerged as India’s best-selling electric car and has also surpassed 15k units production milestone.
    MG Winsor EV Production Milestone
Ever since it was launched, MG Windsor EV has been a popular choice in India’s electric car segment. The customer reception has been excellent, making it the country’s best-selling electric car for the fourth consecutive month (October 2024 to January 2025), contributing to the overall growth of India’s electric car segment.
Since it was launched late last year, MG Windsor has achieved 15,000 units production milestone. Windsor EV’s order books are ringing with 200 bookings per day, across India. If not for the production slowdown in February 2025 due to facility modifications in Halol plant, this milestone would be achieved much earlier.
Windsor EV packs a bunch of features and innovations, backed by premium interiors and best-in-segment roominess and comfort. Windsor EV also has well–sorted underpinnings giving it good range, performance and other paraphernalia. What stood out with MG Windsor EV is a revolutionary pricing system.
    MG Windsor EV
MG is not only offering competitive pricing with the purchase, but the company is also offering segment-first battery rental BaaS (Battery as a Service) offers, significantly reducing the high up-front costs associated with an electric car. For buyers who don’t have high mileage needs, are gravitating towards Windsor EV.
Windsor EV gets a 38-kWh battery powering an electric motor rated at 134 hp and 200 Nm, driving the front wheels. There are four drive modes – Eco+, Eco, Normal, and Sport. MG promises a range of 331 km on a single charge. DC fast charger ensures 80% SOC in 40 minutes.
Statement from JSW MG Motor India
Speaking on the occasion, Biju Balendran, Deputy Managing Director, JSW MG Motor India said, “We are delighted with the response that the MG Windsor has been receiving and are grateful to our customers who have helped us cross the 15,000-unit production milestone. The CUV has been widely accepted by car buyers for its overall pricing and packaging, and for offering a luxurious business-class experience to customers.
Windsor has become No 1 selling electric car in Oct 2024
Smart initiatives such as BaaS, the buyback program, and a lifetime warranty, have all boosted consumer confidence in EVs. As we diversify our portfolio, we remain committed to bringing quality products to our customers at a faster rate. Consequently, we are increasing the capacity of the facility at Halol to meet the rising demand for Windsor.
Additionally, we are undertaking certain facility modifications to ensure readiness for new products under MG Select which is due for launch in the first half of this year. Hence, we anticipate a production slowdown during the month of February, which may temporarily affect our wholesales during this period”, he added further. More

BMW F 450 GS ADV Launch Plans – Made in India?

BMW F 450 GS ConceptSimilar to the G 310 GS, the BMW F 450 GS will be manufactured in India and exported to multiple global markets
BMW’s GS range has highly capable machines such as the R 1250 GS and F 850 GS. There’s the entry-level G 310 GS as well, manufactured at TVS plant in Hosur. The newest GS member, BMW F 450 GS, seems perfectly suited to fill the gap between the 300cc and 850cc/900cc segments. Let’s take a look at the bike’s launch timeline and explore its key features.
    BMW F 450 GS Launch in 2025
Earlier this year, BMW had showcased the F 450 GS as a concept at the 2025 Bharat Expo. The bike was first revealed at the 2024 EICMA. While F 450 GS was showcased as a concept, the bike appears to be in near-production-ready form. While enthusiasts were excited about this newest GS member, there was not enough clarity about the bike’s launch timeline.
    BMW F 450 GS Concept
BMW has now provided an update via its Instagram handle, indicating towards a global launch by the end of 2025. It is possible that the bike could be launched at the 2025 EICMA. The Instagram post reads – “Dreams are coming true soon – prepare for the #ConceptF450GS at the end of the year.” This could mean that BMW Motorrad will launch this motorcycle by 2025 end, or at-least showcase a production-spec model.
TVS will be manufacturing the BMW F 450 GS at its plant in Hosur. Even when locally manufactured, the bike will still have a premium price tag. Starting price could be in the range of Rs 5 lakh mark (Ex-sh), similar to what Aprilia might do with upcoming Tuareg 457. That’s expensive on its own, but reasonable for a BMW bike. The entry-level BMW G 310 GS is available at a starting price of Rs 3.30 lakh.
    BMW F 450 GS Concept
Talking about rivals, BMW F 450 GS will primarily take on Aprilia Tuareg 457 along with the likes of Honda NX500 and KTM 390 Adventure. Honda NX500 is currently available at a starting price of Rs 5.90 lakh. In comparison, the 390 Adventure is cheaper at Rs 3.68 lakh. KTM recently launched the updated 2025 model of 390 Adventure. Most affordable option in this space will continue to be Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, priced at Rs 2.85 lakh.
BMW F 450 GS – Features, performance, specs
Overall look and feel of BMW F 450 GS is similar to that of the larger sibling, the R 1250 GS. Some of the key highlights include a sharp beak, USD forks in golden finish, large windscreen and a quirky headlamp setup. The bike has a sculpted fuel tank, knuckle guards, robust sump guard, under seat exhaust, wire-spoke wheels and knobby tyres. Both ends have disc brakes and dual-channel ABS is likely (switchable).

BMW has revealed that F 450 GS has a lightweight profile, weighing 175 kg. Powering the bike will be a new inline twin-cylinder engine that generates 48 PS of max power. Honda NX500 has a 471cc parallel-twin engine that makes 47.5 PS. But the NX500 is heavier at 196 kg. With its lightweight profile, BMW F 450 GS has a higher power-to-weight ratio. The bike will get a range of rider aids such as ride modes, traction control and cornering ABS (switchable). More

Chevy Camaro’s Revival Reportedly Stalls but Isn’t Completely Dead

The Chevy Camaro’s revival is reportedly being considered at GM, but those plans recently hit a roadblack, per GM Authority.Despite the support of some GM executives, a proposal for a seventh-gen Camaro didn’t make enough financial sense to impress the top brass. The sixth-gen Camaro was discontinued after the 2024 model year, but Chevy promised the nameplate would live on.The Chevy Camaro might not have sold very well during the last few years before the sixth generation was finally laid to rest, but it still has a passionate fan base. Unsurprisingly, some of the Camaro’s most ardent supporters still work for GM, including some executives. A group has reportedly been working on a proposal to revive the iconic pony car for its seventh generation, but that initiative recently hit a roadblock, according to a report by GM Authority.Citing unnamed sources familiar with the situation, a group of people at GM came up with a business case to resurrect the Camaro. The plan was reportedly supported by some of the company’s executives, but apparently it wasn’t strong enough to convince the top brass to give the project the green light. A source told GM Authority that the project’s outlook is “dimmer,” but it’s still being considered, so it’s not completely dead. ChevroletWhat would it take for the decision-makers to say yes to a new Camaro? While those details are unclear, it is clear that the outgoing generation’s poor sales were part of the reason it was discontinued. Obviously, the next-gen Camaro will need a viable path to profitability to move forward. An earlier report by GM Authority claimed a big priority is making the next car more “affordable and attainable.” If that becomes possible, perhaps we’ll see the Ford Mustang’s archrival return to the road. It’s worth noting that when Chevy announced it would stop building the Camaro after the 2024 model year, the bowtie brand left the door open for a successor. It promised that the nameplate would live on and a replacement would be announced in the future. While it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen anytime soon, at least it sounds like some people at GM are still trying to make a next-gen Chevy Camaro a reality.Relive the Camaro’s RivalriesEric Stafford’s automobile addiction began before he could walk, and it has fueled his passion to write news, reviews, and more for Car and Driver since 2016. His aspiration growing up was to become a millionaire with a Jay Leno–like car collection. Apparently, getting rich is harder than social-media influencers make it seem, so he avoided financial success entirely to become an automotive journalist and drive new cars for a living. After earning a journalism degree at Central Michigan University and working at a daily newspaper, the years of basically burning money on failed project cars and lemon-flavored jalopies finally paid off when Car and Driver hired him. His garage currently includes a 2010 Acura RDX, a manual ’97 Chevy Camaro Z/28, and a ’90 Honda CRX Si. More

2026 Volvo XC60 Refresh Includes New-Look Grille, Bigger Touchscreen

The Volvo XC60 and its plug-in-hybrid twin, the XC60 Hybrid, have been refreshed for the 2026 model year. Both models have identical redesigned front ends, with the grille taking after the larger XC90 SUV’s new look. The interior adds a larger touchscreen that Volvo says is more than twice as fast as the outgoing system.Following a reserved 2025 model year that saw no changes, Volvo’s set of XC60 compact luxury SUVs gets a facelift. Changes are identical between the gas-powered and plug-in-hybrid models, with the updates focused on exterior styling and interior technology. The exterior styling tweaks are subtle enough, but they bring the XC60 more in line with Volvo’s flagship XC90, which was updated last year. The front grille now uses the same diagonal motif, highlighting Volvo’s iron mark logo on the grille. Changes at the rear of the SUV are even harder to spot, with the Scandinavian brand simply darkening the taillight shroud. The new look is capped off with new wheel options and a trio of paint colors that includes Forest Lake, Aurora Silver, and Mulberry Red.Unsurprisingly, changes to the interior similarly follow those bestowed on the XC90 last year. The highlight is the inclusion of a new 11.2-inch touchscreen, which replaces the XC60’s outgoing 9.0-inch unit. Volvo says the new screen’s pixel density is 21 percent better than the outgoing screen. More important than the new hardware is the improved software. The XC60 gets Qualcomm’s updated Snapdragon Cockpit software, which is claimed to be more than twice as fast as the outgoing system. The result should be a more responsive touchscreen. The refreshed XC60 is already available to order in select markets, though North America does not seem to be part of that yet. Volvo confirmed to Car and Driver that the reveal was for the global market and we’ll need to wait a bit longer for U.S. pricing and availability. If the XC90 can be used as a bellwether for pricing, we don’t expect the facelift to cause either the XC60 or the XC60 Hybrid to jump too far from their respective $48,345 and $59,345 starting prices.More on the XC60Jack Fitzgerald’s love for cars stems from his as yet unshakable addiction to Formula 1.
