Launched back in Jan 2020, sales of new Bajaj Chetak electric scooter is 21 units for the first month. Total production of the Chetak e-scooter for Jan 2020 was 197 units.

Though the scooter has already been launched, deliveries to customers have not officially begun. At the time of launch last month, Bajaj had said that official deliveries of their Chetak e-scooter will start in Feb 2020. As of today, there have been no deliveries made to customer.

A total of 197 units of Chetak were produced at the company plant in Jan 2020. Of these, 21 units were dispatched to select dealers across India – for display and test ride purposes. Offered in two variants of Urbane and Premium, it is the more expensive Premium variant which will be delivered first. Cheaper Urbane trim will be delivered from May 2020. Price of Urbane is Rs 1 lakh while that of Premium trim is Rs 1.15 lakh. All prices are ex-sh.

Bajaj Auto Limited has opened bookings and test rides for its new Chetak e-scooter at company dealerships in Bengaluru and Pune. Booking amount is Rs 2,000. You can also book the scooter online, at www.chetak.com. Launched a few days ago, the new Chetak marks the company’s re-entry into the scooter space after two decades.

Bajaj Chetak will be presented in 6 colour options with a retro styling. It will have an all metal body and will receive features that include all LED lighting at the front and rear and a digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity. The Bluetooth connectivity system will be synced to the smartphone offering live tracking, statistics and ride records while the e-scooter will also offer mobility solutions such as data communication, security and user authentication.

The Bajaj Chetak is powered by a 4 kW motor that offers 16 Nm torque. There is also an IP67 rated 3 kWh lithium battery that can be charged via a 5-15 amp electric socket. Charging upto 25 percent in possible in one hour while 80 percent takes 3.5 hours and 100 percent in 5 hours. The Chetak which is presented in two modes of Eco and Sport sees range of 95 km and 85 km respectively.

The company is offering a 3 year/50,000 km warranty on the Bajaj Chetak e-scooter along with 3 free services. The bikes are on display at select KTM dealers. The new Bajaj Chetak is being produced at the Bajaj Auto Chakan facility in Pune. The new Chetak e-scooter will have the Ather 450 for competition, which is the best electric scooter currently on the market. It will also take on the newly launched TVS iQube and e-scooters from Ampere, Okinawa, etc.
