With the launch of 2025 Triumph Speed Twin 900, the 900cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin has been carried over with 65 bhp and 80 Nm
Triumph has just launched the updated version of Speed Twin 900 in India. This update brings much needed additions to consolidate this motorcycle’s position among rivals. Launch price for 2025 Triumph Speed Twin 900 has been kept at Rs 8.89 lakh (Ex-sh) and gets a lot of equipment as standard.
2025 Triumph Speed Twin 900
There are not a lot of immediate rivals for Triumph, especially at the Rs 8.89 lakh price point. Kawasaki Z900RS is significantly pricier owing to its CBU route and the newly-launched Brixton Cromwell 1200 and Triumph’s own Bonneville T100 come close.
With the new update, 2025 Triumph Speed Twin looks a lot like its larger sibling, Triumph Speed Twin 1200. When compared to the model it is replacing, 2025 Speed Twin 900 priced at Rs 8.89 lakh (Ex-sh), costs just Rs 10,000 more. Which is a good thing if we take into account all the improvements this motorcycle is bringing to the table.
For starters, 2025 Speed Twin 900 is offered in three attractive colourways – Aluminium Silver / Carnival Red / Jet Black, Pearl White / Maui Blue / Tangerine Orange and Phantom Black / Aurum Gold. A lot of the new attributes introduced with the 2025 model are standard, including a few optional extras.
What are the updates?
Starting with the design, there are a lot of changes that keen eyes can capture. For starters, there’s a new fuel tank with larger knee recesses, side body panels are now edgier in appeal along with a prominent silver element, there’s a new and flatter seat for improved comfort and the new rear section with much sleeker tail lights and LED turn indicators.
The new instrument cluster is now slightly erect from its original position in its predecessor. New alloy wheels get a split fork design. Updates in componentry are more notable. RSU telescopic front forks have been replaced with USDs. Rear suspension also got an upgrade to piggy-back rear shockers. Both suspension setups are from Marzocchi.
Travel of rear suspension is reduced from 120mm to 110mm for improved handling characteristics. Stiffer and lighter rear swingarm also contributes to improved handling. Brakes get an upgrade to larger 320mm disc and biting it, is a radial caliper. Tyres are Michelin Road Classics.
Electronic rider aids include standard lean-sensitive ABS and traction control. Instrument cluster is new and can be had with optional Bluetooth connectivity. Powertrain is the same 900cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that generates 65 bhp of peak power and 80 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
