Lenovo first e-scooter M2 comes 350W ultra-strong motor paired with a 7.5Ah high-capacity battery
Business houses across the globe have realised the huge potential of the electric mobility industry. That’s why many corporate houses having no experience in providing mobility solutions until now are joining the bandwagon in developing electric vehicles (EVs) for consumers.
The latest example, in this case, being technology giant Lenovo as it recently unveiled its first working prototype of an electric scooter. Named M2, it is an electric kick scooter (EKS) that is slated to go on sale in Philippines from March 27, 2021. It has been designed to lighten the struggle’s people stuck in traffic during their daily commutes.
Styling
It also gives consumers an affordable option for owning a personal mobility solution during the ongoing pandemic. It has been developed as a possible solution for over congestion in cities, rising fuel expenses and fare hikes.
It adopts a simple and minimalist design which is quite stylish in its own sense. It has a compact shape with dimensions reading as 1,115mm x 515mm x 1,115mm in length, width and height. This makes it super easy to maneuver through heavy traffic.
Lenovo electric scooter frame is made of Magnesium and Aluminium alloy which means it is extremely light and a three-second fast-folding feature makes it convenient enough to carry around in case there is no parking space. A few bright red accents here and there add a hint of sportiness to its sportiness.
Whereas a grey rubber foot mat and grips along with eight-inch wheels shod by honeycomb tyres add a nice dose of ruggedness. It has a load carrying capacity of 120 kg and can attain a maximum incline of 15 degrees which helps when traveling through steep roads.
Features on offer
It’s not just its design but also functionality that could attract consumers. M2 comes with a small LED screen installed on its handlebar that displays critical information such as speed, gear position indicator, range and battery capacity. The console can also be connected to smartphones or other accessories through Bluetooth or a smartphone app. Other notable features on the e-scooter from Lenovo are an enhanced battery holder, a folding switch and an ultra-bright headlight.
Specifications
In terms of specs, the e-scooter is powered by a 350W ultra-strong motor which derives its energy from a 7.5Ah high-capacity battery. It can clock a top speed of 25 kmph and return a maximum range of 30 km on a single charge. It has been equipped with an intelligent battery management system to shield the battery from common issues such as overcharge, overcurrent, extreme temperatures and short-circuiting. The company claims a charging time of two to three hours.
The M2 has been priced at PHP 19,995 (roughly equivalent to INR 30,000) while an introductory offer price of PHR 16,995 (equivalent to INR 24,340) will be applicable to those who pre-book their scooters between March 18 and March 27.
