- Lucid announces prices and 406-mile range for two versions of the Air electric luxury sedan.
- The entry-level Air will start at $77,400 and comes standard with 480 horsepower from a single-motor setup.
- The Air Touring starts at $87,500 with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration that outputs 620 horsepower.
While the Lucid Air Dream launch edition is set to pull in a whopping $169,000, the automaker also has more affordable options in the pipeline. Today the company announced the pricing, range, and power numbers for the two variants.
- The entry-level Air starts at $77,400 and can be reserved right now for $300. The vehicle will have a targeted range of 406 miles and 480 horsepower from a single motor. The vehicle will include a PurLuxe animal-free interior for the vegan on the go and the same 34-inch display. What it won’t have is the glass canopy roof. Lucid expects to deliver these vehicles in early 2021.
Meanwhile, the Air Touring edition will start at $87,500 with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive sedan capable of 620 horsepower. Like the regular air, it’ll have a targeted range of 406 miles. It’ll be available with more interior trim options and the optional glass canopy roof. Like the entry-level, it can currently be reserved with a $300 deposit and according to Lucid will begin being delivered in late 2021.
As with all Lucid vehicles, these two sedans will come with three years of complimentary charging at Electrify America locations and according to the company can DC fast charge quick enough to add 300 miles of range in 20 minutes. They’ll also have the option of adding Lucid’s DreamDrive driver assistance package that includes lidar and the company says will be able to achieve Level 3 driving assistance at some point in the future.
Both of these vehicles fall short of the 517-mile range that the automaker boasted about earlier this year. For anything close to that, you’re going to have to pony up for the $169,000, 503-mile range Dream edition.
