After four decades of production, Nissan is honoring the 2021 Maxima with a limited 40th Anniversary Edition, featuring 40th-anniversary badging on the exterior and on the red leather seats. The Maxima is the longest continuously running Nissan nameplate in the United States.
This special model, built on the Platinum trim level, adds several other edition-specific features in addition to the badging. Among them are 19-inch black alloy wheels, black exhaust tips, a red semi-aniline leather interior with red contrast stitching, and heated rear seats. It’ll come with a a two-tone exterior paint job in Ruby Slate Gray Pearl with a black roof.
This 40th Anniversary Edition gets Maxima’s 300-hp 3.5-liter V-6, with power routed through a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Nissan said that pricing for all 2021 Maxima models, including this 40th Anniversary Edition, will be announced later this fall closer to the 2021 model’s on-sale date.
