Bajaj has started dispatching its BS6 motorcycles to dealerships.
The latest to arrive at dealerships is the BS6 variant of Bajaj Pulsar RS200. BS6 Pulsar RS200 will retail at Rs 1,43,717, which is approximately 3k more than the BS4 model. As with other BS6 versions of Bajaj motorcycles, Pulsar RS200 will not have any major changes to its design and styling. The only additions are revised graphics and new colour options. However, detailed info about new colour options has not been revealed yet. The existing model is offered in three colour options – Graphite Black, Racing Blue and Racing Red. These colour options are likely to be continued along with the new ones.
Talking about the BS6 engine, it is unlikely to have any major change in power and torque output. Moreover, the engine currently being used on BS4 model already comes with fuel-injection, which means the upgraded engine will have minimal changes. To comply with new emission norms, BS6 Pulsar RS200 will be equipped with an updated catalytic converter. There will be an O2 sensor as well, part of the overall tech that helps comply with new emission norms.

For reference, the BS4 model churns out max power of 24.5 hp at 9750 rpm and max torque of 18.6 Nm at 8000 rpm. Figures for BS6 Pulsar RS200 are expected to be quite close to these. The 6-speed gearbox will also be the same as earlier. As of now, max speed of Pulsar RS200 is 140.8 kmph. This could change with the BS6 engine.
In terms of mechanicals, the only major difference is the addition of dual-channel ABS. The current model only comes with single-channel ABS. Features that will be continued from the BS4 model include dual projector headlamps, perimeter frame, and crystal LED tail lamps.
Cycle parts that will be carried forward include telescopic front suspension and Nitrox mono rear shock absorber with canister. Braking system comprises 300 mm front disc and 230 mm rear disc, integrated with dual-channel ABS. The motorcycle has 17-inch wheels at both ends shod with tubeless tyres.
Bajaj appears to be following an aggressive pricing strategy for its BS6 motorcycles in order to stay competitive in the marketplace. While BS6 upgrades for other scooters and motorcycles have seen prices rise in the range of Rs 5k to Rs 10k, Bajaj has managed to offer its upgraded bikes at relatively cheaper rates. In case of Pulsar RS200, a 3k increase in price is not much considering that users are getting BS6 and dual-channel ABS. BS6 Bajaj Dominar price hike is even lesser at just around Rs 2k.
