TVS Apache 310 Owner Modifies His Motorcycle To Look Like BMW G310RR

BMW G310RR has been officially launched in India at a starting price of Rs 2.85 lakh – Rs 20k more than TVS Apache RR 310TVS Apache 310 Modified to look like BMW G310RRBMW Motorrad had developed a winning formula in collaboration with TVS. This formula of a 310cc platform that both companies could utilize, has worked wonders for both. TVS created Apache 310, a fully faired track focused road bike while BMW created G310R, a naked street bike and G310GS, an adventure tourer. Now a 4th motorcycle has been launched on this platform.BMW has launched a fully-faired and track-focused machine named G310RR. This baby RR model is based on TVS Apache RR 310. BMW was expected to make at least some design changes on the G310RR. But that is not the case.TVS Apache 310 Owner Modifies MotorcycleAll four motorcycles are manufactured by TVS at their plant in India. In the past, we saw TVS and BMW keeping their 310cc motorcycles very different from each other. In fact they were serving different segments. BMW even priced their motorcycles a lot more, which were later reduced. This is the first time both manufacturers have entered in the same segment of motorcycle. When BMW had first announced the launch of G310RR, many expected it to be a different machine than Apache 310. But the G310RR is the same as TVS Apache 310, with a new colour, more price, and minus a few features. What the BMW G310RR has, and TVS Apache 310 does not, is a quickshifter.[embedded content][embedded content]Of course some fans were not happy. But this has made the job easier for those Apache 310 owners, who like the BMW badge more. One such owner is Arman Zunaid, who has successfully modified his Apache 310 motorcycle to look like the BMW G310RR Style Sport variant, that has an ex-sh price tag of Rs 2.99 lakh. Apache 310 has a price tag of Rs 2.65 lakh, while the BMW livery wrap costs about Rs 10k.In the video above, Arman explains in detail the differences between the Apache 310 and the new G310RR. He claims that the only feature missing in his Apache 310, and is present in the G310RR, is a quickshifter. Please note that Rushlane is not responsible for content from external sites.Specs & CompetitionBMW G310RR gets the same 312.2cc engine making 33.52 bhp of power at 9,700 RPM and 27.3 Nm of torque at 7,700 RPM in Race and Track mode. In Rain mode and Urban Mode, this engine only makes 25 bhp and 25 Nm. It also gets the same 6-speed gearbox. This engine is also mounted on the same trellis frame too. This reverse inclined motor is first in the segment that helps mass centralization and centre of gravity.BMW G310RRBMW has only made changes to colour scheme and graphics while the rest of the machine is identical to Apache RR 310 it is based on. If you ask us, it is not a bad thing as TVS Apache RR 310 was a banger, to begin with. Priced at Rs. 2.85 lakh (ex-sh), BMW G310RR competes with KTM RC 390, TVS Apache RR 310 and Kawasaki Ninja 300.But the Rs. 20,000 increment for the BMW badge is a little illogical. Especially when the same Rs. 20,000 can be spent on TVS’ brilliant BTO packages that gets fully adjustable front USD forks and rear monoshock from KYB. This adjustable suspension has been completely given a miss by BMW. The German brand has in fact deleted some TVS exclusive features that worked only through their proprietary software like SmartXonnect. So, Bluetooth connectivity and all associated features are gone for Rs. 20,000 – 35,000 addition. Value for money? More

Hyundai Kona Electric Vs Creta Petrol, Diesel – Cost After 80k Kms

Hyundai Kona Electric owner has spent a total of Rs 2.07 lakh on charging and maintenance of his carHyundai Kona ElectricWhile electric vehicles (EVs) are the future of mobility, their high purchase cost prevents them from penetrating into the mass market. However, EVs ace their IC engine counterparts when it comes to running costs. It is no hidden fact that fuel prices have seen an exorbitant rise in the past few months. Many people have already started to make the transition from petrol and diesel-powered vehicles to emission-free battery-powered vehicles. In the passenger vehicle space, Hyundai Kona Electric was one of the first electric cars to be introduced in India. Team-BHP member ADI7YAK has shared interesting details on the expenses incurred for charging and maintaining Hyundai Kona Electric vs that of a Creta Petrol or diesel after driving 80,000 kms.Hyundai Kona Electric Charging CostCharging cost of Hyundai Kona Electric – For 80,000 kmsHyundai Kona EV owner has shared that he has owned a Kona EV for twenty months which recently clocked 80 thousand kilometers. He has provided a detailed cost breakup of owning and maintaining the car and a rough calculation of how much money he has saved in comparison to petrol automatic and diesel automatic cars of a similar size and price.Owner of Kona EV mentions that in order to achieve 80,000km on the odometer, a total of 11 megawatts of electricity were used. This includes both public and home charging setup. For this, the owner had to spend a total cost of Rs. 91480. Around 90 percent of the charging was done via home charging while the rest were done from public charging stations.Charging cost of Hyundai Kona Electric – For 80,000 kmsHe further mentions that public chargers are more expensive but also quicker than standard home wall chargers. Getting into more details, the owner reveals that he has spent around Rs 18,500 on maintaining his car which includes regular service and other wear and tear items such as wiper blades, bulbs, etc. By his standards, this amount is very cheap.Charging cost of Hyundai Kona Electric – For 80,000 kmsThe highest cost of maintenance Rs 47,800 was incurred by a change in tyres which were replaced after 50,000km. After taking into account each and every cost attached, the owner reported an average running cost of Rs 1.37 per km. This was compared against the running cost of petrol- and diesel-powered Creta.Cost Comparison With Diesel, Petrol-powered CretaAfter collecting data from Creta owners, the Kona EV user came to realise that Creta petrol automatic owners would have to spend almost around Rs 7.00 lakh for the car to clock 80,000 km on its odometer. In case of a Creta diesel automatic, it would be around Rs 5.41 lakh. Both these figures are much greater than Rs 91,480 spent by the Kona EV user on electricity.Maintenance cost of Hyundai Kona Electric – For 80,000 kmsTherefore, savings in case of Kona EV stands at Rs 6,08 lakh and Rs 4.50 lakh when compared with petrol- and diesel-powered Creta. Top-end petrol variant of Creta costs Rs. 21.16 lakh while its diesel-powered counterpart would cost Rs 21.65 lakh. On the other hand, Kona EV costs Rs 25.3 lakhs. Therefore, for a total distance of over 80,000km, the additional cost of an EV is compensated and savings begin.Hyundai Kona Electric Vs Creta Petrol, Diesel and HexaSource More

5 Classic Pony Cars Headed to Your Mailbox on New USPS Stamps

If you’re looking for affordable collectibles of classic cars, the U.S. Postal Service has you covered with the upcoming launch of five pony-car stamps. The Mustang, Camaro, Javelin, Challenger and Cougar are all represented. The USPS has issued other sets of classic cars, including some for muscle cars from the 1960s and 1970s and multiple sets showing off cars from the 1950s.The pony-car Forever stamps will go on sale in August and cost 60 cents each.Five classic muscle cars from the height of the pony-car era are about to look good standing perfectly still on a postage stamp. The U.S. Postal Service is bringing the five performance cars to philatelists across the country next month. The five models featured on the new Forever stamps include the 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302, the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, the 1969 AMC Javelin SST, the 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T, and the 1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7 GT.

The USPS said this new stamp series is intended to highlight the “youthful spirit” that these cars brought to the automotive world between 1964 and the energy crisis of the 1970s. By the end of that decade, pony cars had become cultural icons and, as these stamps prove, they remain popular today. The pony-car era might be long gone, but some of that spirit survives today. We, for one, never tire of a good Camaro vs. Challenger vs. Mustang comparison test, as we did in 2020.The USPS has a history of highlighting American cars from previous eras on its stamps. In 2013, the USPS worked with NASCAR driver Richard Petty to promote five limited-edition muscle-car stamps. The cars on those stamps included the 1966 Pontiac GTO, the 1967 Shelby GT500, the 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, the 1970 Plymouth Hemi ‘Cuda, and the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS.The USPS has also issued stamps featuring vehicles from the 1950s, including a set of five “sporty cars” and another five that emphasized “fins and chrome,” including the 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk and the 1959 Cadillac Eldorado.Earlier this month, the price of a Forever Stamp went up by two pennies to 60 cents. Any uncanceled Forever Stamp can be used to mail a one-ounce letter, no matter when and at what price they were purchased. The USPS will hold a first-day-of-issue celebration for the Pony Cars Forever stamps at the Great American Stamp Show in Sacramento, California, on August 25. If you’re interested in attending, you can RSVP for the free event at the USPS website.

Ola Electric Car Will Be The Sportiest Made In India Car – Render

Upcoming Ola Electric Car is expected to be mostly designed and developed in-houseOla Electric Car Launch Soon – Render *Ola Electric has been hitting homeruns after homeruns. Since their acquisition of Amsterdam-based Etergo scooter company, they have been in news pretty much like clockwork. Ola FutureFactory was set up in Tamil Nadu in December 2020. In just one and a half years, they have redefined what an electric scooter should be.Sure, one of the S1 Pro has been subjected to fire hazards and many S1 Pro owners have reported a lot of niggles. But Ola has pushed on like a pawn in a Chess game, never taking a step back. Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal is ambitious and has delivered on most promises he made with S1 Pro. Biggest battery? Check. Longest range? Check. Gimmicks? Check. Cruise Control? Umm, not yet. But let’s cut some slack for now.Recently, Bhavish teased three Ola Electric Cars, one of which is a low-slung sedan and the other two may be an SUV and a hatchback. Amidst all the production hassles of the S1 Pro electric scooter, four-wheeled PVs have been Ola’s ambition since day one and Ola’s mother factory is said to be designed keeping this in mind. Ola is expected to reveal more on August 15 and electric car production is expected to start in two years’ time.Ola Electric Car Will Be SportiestTwo years to design and develop an electric car is a challenge, to say the least. Even Tesla didn’t go full regalia and make Model S to dominate the market. No. Tesla actually started off with the Roadster (1st gen) which was produced in limited numbers for a very high price. To make a Roadster, Tesla licensed Elise from British sports car manufacturer Lotus. Then swapped out the engine with a battery and motor.Ola CEO shares new teaser of upcoming electric carTo research, design, develop and manufacture a full-fledged car, will take years. Bhavish knows this. Ola bought Etergo and manufactured the same thing in India. All the research, design, and development were already done. To build an electric car from scratch and get to production in just a two-year timeline is next to impossible. But Ola has a trend of keeping up promises. They don’t bite more than they can chew. Is it possible that Ola will buy an electric car startup that has done most of the work already? Or at least license an already developed product that they will base their EV on or manufacture in India? Only time will tell. For now, Bhavish has hit us with a new teaser stating that they’re going to build the sportiest car ever built in India. What To Expect? It might seem like tall claims. But let us take a look at what we can expect from Ola’s stables in two years. In March 2022, Ola Electric made a multi-million USD investment in StoreDot, an Israel-based company specializing in battery technologies. It is said that both companies are jointly developing XFC (Xtreme Fast Charging) battery technology and the recently teased indigenous battery by Bhavish might be the brainchild of this venture. We have also heard that Ex-Mahindra designer Ramkripa Ananthan, who designed XUV700, Thar and XUV300, has joined Ola team. We can expect a minimalist, yet techy vehicle from Ola. It can be underpromised but over-deliver like we’ve seen with S1 Pro. It will have a big battery and long range to back it up. Batteries will be indigenously designed and developed in-house. It promises to be the sportiest car ever made in India. If you think about it, India doesn’t make sporty cars at all. So, yeah. Claims might be true.* Disclaimer – Render of Ola Electric Car above has been created by Pratyush Rout based on a teaser shared by Ola. The render is not commissioned or endorsed by Ola Electric. Paul Walker’s 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Headed to Monterey Auction

The star of The Fast and the Furious movie franchise passed away in 2013, but one of his personal vehicles will play its own starring role during this year’s Monterey Car Week in August.Fully restored and looking sweet, this 1973 Porsche 911 features a 2.7-liter flat-six-cylinder engine and houndstooth black-and-white seats, all wrapped up in a bright-yellow exterior with black accents.Walker once told Jay Leno how he found this car for sale online and agreed to purchase it sight unseen back in 2011.The list of glorious vehicles that will be auctioned off at the 2022 Monterey Car Week next month is full of head-turning possibilities, from a one-of-12 1934 Packard Custom Convertible Sedan to a 2012 Ferrari LaFerrari Prototype MP1. If you’re a fan of The Fast and The Furious movies, though, there’s just one that you’ll want in your own garage: a light-yellow 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 that was previously owned by Paul Walker. Walker starred in the action movie series until his death in 2013 in a crash involving another Porsche, a Carrera GT Walker had recently purchased.

A car guy through and through, Walker talked about buying this vehicle, which he found for sale on the internet in 2011, during an appearance on Jay Leno that year. Walker wasn’t even sure the car ran when he agreed to purchase it, but the folks at Mecum Auctions are able to offer the car in fine shape now that it has been restored and refined to a level Walker would have appreciated.

The 911 RS 2.7 has a history of being driven both fast and furious, as the model was raced on the track starting in 1972. The car’s track success gave Porsche reason to increase the number of RS 2.7 units it would make from an expected 500 to the final tally of 1580 cars. Walker’s car comes with FIA paperwork and a Porsche certificate of authenticity. On Walker’s 911 RS 2.7, a yellow exterior is decorated with black accents like the Carrera livery on the sides and chrome trim on the windows and headlights. Restorations to the powertrain, including the drivetrain and the suspension, were done by Jerry Woods Enterprises. The powertrain uses a 2.7-liter flat-six-cylinder engine that produces 210 horsepower. An 8000-rpm tachometer can be used to know when to shift the five-speed manual transmission. The odometer currently shows 93,774 kilometers (58,268 miles).

The black interior was redone by Autobahn Interiors, which gave the 911 black-and-white sport bucket seats while keeping the rest looking clean and simple with gauges from VDO. In keeping with the original, the redone 911 features thinner steel body panels than those found on a standard 911 and also has lighter, thinner windows. Other weight-saving features include a fiberglass rear deck and a lightweight ducktail spoiler.Interested bidders need to register on the Mecum website before Monterey Car Week starts August 18. The 911 is listed on the site at Lot R290, and the auction will take place Saturday, August 20.
