In comparison to the last edition, Auto Expo 2020 will see fewer participants but a lot of EV start-ups and supplier brands.
Auto Expo 2020 — the 15th edition of the country’s biggest biennial automotive event — is right around the corner and Indian automotive enthusiasts are eagerly looking forward to seeing what major brands have in store for our market. The event takes place from 7th to 12th February 2020 at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida.
The latest edition of ‘Auto Expo – The Motor Show’ carries the theme, ‘Explore the World of Mobility’. It is jointly organised by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Here is the final list of exhibitors or participants that would be presenting their best at Auto Expo 2020:

Starting with four-wheelers, popular names such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Hyundai and Mahindra have a lot planned. While Kia Motors and MG Motor showcase a range of compelling products for their continued success in the industry, Skoda Auto, Renault and Volkswagen aim to bring some desirable product strategies to make a strong statement on the sales charts.
Mercedes-Benz is the only luxury car brand participating in this edition of Auto Expo. Force Motors will unveil its latest BS6-compliant portfolio of passenger (Gurkha) and commercial vehicles (Traveller). On the other hand, new names such as Great Wall Motors and FAW Haima will mark their Indian debut at the venue.
Coming to the list of two-wheelers, you are in for a major disappointment. We had already shared that multiple brands are giving a miss this time, but only a few names in the four-wheeler segment are among them. However, in the case of two-wheelers, Suzuki, Aprilia, Vespa, etc., are the only sought-after brands coming to Auto Expo 2020. Others on the list are mainly big or small, established or start-up EV brands. Moto Guzzi is the only premium two-wheeler brand.
Besides the ones shared in the above list, Auto Expo 2020 will witness the participation of multiple supplier brands and commercial vehicle manufacturers. Still, it is quite evident that an array of rather less-interesting EVs would acquire a major portion of the floor. The Indian government, as well as other concerned authorities, are encouraging all-electric or emission-free forms of transportation like never before.
Owing to this, a lot of startups have been set up over the past few years with overwhelming aid from the government as well as private investors. A good majority of the global automotive industry will become electric in the future and it is good to see that the Indian market is gearing up for such a revolution.
