At the 2024 EICMA, Hero MotoCorp presented multiple new products including the Xtreme 250R. The bike is now launched at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo for a starting price of Rs 1,79,900 lakh (Ex-sh). This is now the first motorcycle from Hero to come equipped with this new and performance-oriented 30 PS 250cc liquid-cooled engine.
Hero Xtreme 250R Launch
Being the new flagship in the Xtreme range, the 250R streetfighter has a captivating design. Some of the key highlights include an aggressive front fascia, all-LED lighting setup, sleek turn indicators and USD forks in golden finish. Side profile is distinguishable with its muscular fuel tank with 3D design elements including the ‘Xtreme’ logo. The bike also gets prominent arrow-shaped tank extensions that have the R lettering. Another distinctive feature is the metallic copper finish on the engine casing.
As is evident, Hero Xtreme 250R utilizes a vibrant colour palette. Some may call it noisy, although Xtreme 250R could be the preferred choice for folks who want to flaunt their rides. The exciting graphics further enhance the bike’s sporty profile. There are sharp, angular lines on the side panels that add a sense of speed and aggression. Other key highlights of Hero Xtreme 250R include a slightly upswept exhaust, split seats and grab rails and rear tyre hugger.
Connected experience
Built to meet the needs and expectations of the young generation, Hero Xtreme 250R packs a comprehensive range of tech features. There’s a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth support. Users will be able to access features such as turn-by-turn navigation and music control. For speed enthusiasts, the bike also packs a lap timer and a drag timer. There is switchable ABS as well, allowing users to customize their rides according to their needs and preferences.
Exhilarating performance
Hero Xtreme 250R is designed to deliver a truly powerful and exciting ride experience. The bike features a new 250cc liquid-cooled, 4-valve, DOHC engine. It delivers 30 PS and 25 Nm of peak torque. These numbers are a close match to that of KTM 250 Duke which delivers 31 PS and 25 Nm. Hero Xtreme 250R will hence emerge as one of the most powerful machines in this space. Another rival is Bajaj Pulsar N250 which generates 24.5 PS and 21.5 Nm. Suzuki Gixxer 250 has a 249-cc engine that delivers 26.5 PS and 22.2 Nm.
Overall ride experience is supported with other key hardware such as a 6-step adjustable mono-shock rear suspension. Radial tyres with a 50-50 weight balance have been used to ensure enhanced grip and responsiveness. Performance is also enhanced with disk brakes and wide tubeless tyres. Performance, specs and visuals of Hero Xtreme 250R are quite promising.
