Ultraviolette F77 Gen3 Firmware Unlocks More Performance For Free

Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2India’s leading sporty electric motorcycle manufacturer, Ultraviolette, has been on a global launch spree as the company expands its presence across 10 European nations. Now, the company is unlocking more performance to its existing customers with Gen3 Firmware that is backwards compatible to all F77 customers. Let’s take a closer look.
    Ultraviolette F77 Gen3 Firmware
Firmware on an electric vehicle is just as important as the components chassis, design, equipment and dynamics. It controls almost all aspects of an electric vehicle, making it a crucial aspect of an EV. Same is the case with Ultraviolette F77 electric motorcycles and the company has just announced Gen3 Firmware to all F77 customers.
This new Gen3 Firmware by Ultraviolette is backwards compatible and can be installed on all Ultraviolette F77 customers. The company has incorporated 8 million km (80 lakh) worth of ride data analysis to improve the bike’s nervous system and further improve Violette AI, which is a core element of Ultraviolette products.
Ultraviolette F77 EV Launched in France
Ultraviolette is offering this firmware to customers at no additional charge. Making it free of charge sends a great message across the motorcycling fraternity, gaining a positive outlook among enthusiasts. This new firmware unlocks more performance with the new Ballistic+ Mode which should appeal to users.
The bike still maintains its 40 bhp of peak power and 100 Nm of peak torque as before. But the improved performance comes in the way this powertrain now puts down power, allowing for an engaging ride than before. There’s a higher thermal ceiling now and better initial torque surge than it offered before.
With software optimisation, Ultraviolette has managed to offer better performance to new and existing users. The company didn’t mention any range improvements with Gen3 Firmware.
    Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2
    Statement from Ultraviolette
Narayan Subramaniam, CEO & Co-founder of Ultraviolette, stated “For decades, vehicles, gadgets, and consumer electronics have followed a familiar trajectory where they start strong, but degrade over time. While others may practice planned obsolescence, we believe in the opposite paradigm where technology evolves and gets better with time. At Ultraviolette, we envision how a machine could learn from you, evolve with you, and unlock more power the longer you own it.”
“At the heart of every F77 is our Vehicle Control Unit, a powerful onboard intelligence system that captures over 3,000 data points in real time. These are continuously analysed by Violette A.I., which interprets, learns and evolves to optimize performance and deliver smarter, more responsive system updates. Through this seamless integration of advanced hardware and intelligence, we uncovered new possibilities to extract even greater performance from the battery and drivetrain systems.
Our architecture proved its capability through rigorous fine-tuning, from the VCU to the motor and motor controller, ultimately resulting in our new Gen3 Powertrain Firmware. This is a breakthrough in electric performance, based on precision engineering, and intelligent evolution”, said Niraj Rajmohan, CTO & Co-founder of Ultraviolette. More

New TVS Norton V4 Spied Testing – Flagship Superbike Debut At EICMA

New TVS Norton V4 Spied TestingUpon launch, Norton V4 will challenge rivals such as Ducati Panigale V4, BMW M 1000 RR and Aprilia RSV4
As part of its strategy to target the premium motorcycle segment, TVS Motor will be launching multiple new Norton motorcycles. The first of these will be the new Norton flagship V4, which will be showcased at the 2025 EICMA. India launch is expected by the end of this year. Ahead of that, the all-new Norton V4 has been spied testing in the UK. Let’s check out the details.
New Norton V4 spotted – Design and key features
TVS MD Sudarshan Venu himself is riding the test vehicle. As compared to the current Norton flagship, the V4SV, the all-new Norton V4 takes a more modern approach to its design and styling. One can notice a more aggressive front fascia, featuring sharp LED headlamps and integrated DRLs. While this test vehicle is missing the side fairing, expect the bike to get sportier panels and graphics. New colour options are also likely, in line with the bike’s contemporary profile.
New TVS Norton V4 Spied Testing
Riding stance is fairly committed, similar to other superbikes such as the Panigale V4. In terms of equipment, the new Norton V4 gets an underbelly exhaust. This ensures a clutter-free look and feel, as compared to the V4SV that has a side exhaust setup. The underbelly exhaust could also improve weight balance and help achieve a more centralized mass.
Another distinctive feature is a new triangular, multi-layered design for the tail lamp. This feature was also revealed in a recent teaser posted by Norton. The test vehicle can be seen using more modern angular shapes for the frame, as compared to that of the V4SV. Also, the new V4 has the frame in matt black finish, as compared to the shiny metallic finish seen with V4SV. This is another key aspect of the bike’s modern makeover.
New TVS Norton V4 Spied Testing
    Specs, performance
Norton V4 can be seen with a range of premium equipment such as the latest Hypure monobloc callipers from Brembo. In addition to offering enhanced braking, the quirky, asymmetrical design of the callipers complements the bike’s sporty profile. Norton V4 could also get semi-active forks that can adjust damping characteristics in real-time using electronic controls.
New TVS Norton V4 Spied Testing
Users can expect better control during cornering, more comfortable rides and greater stability while braking. At the rear, Norton V4 could continue with Öhlins fully adjustable shock absorber with hydraulic preload adjustment. The bike will be getting a comprehensive range of rider aids such as multiple riding modes, a six-axis IMU, ride-by-wire tech, cornering ABS and traction control.
New TVS Norton V4 Spied Testing
Teasers point to some new exciting stuff as well, which is likely to be revealed at EICMA. While the existing 72-degree liquid-cooled V4, 1200cc will be carried forward, it will now be compliant with Euro 5+ emission norms. This will allow the new Norton V4 to enter European markets beyond the UK.
    [embedded content]
The engine is likely to have undergone major tweaks for emission compliance and enhanced performance. In its current format, the engine delivers 185 bhp and 125 Nm of peak torque. It will be interesting to see how Norton prices the new V4. The current flagship, the V4SV, is priced at £44,000 (Rs 51.18 lakh). A starting price of around £25,000 to £30,000 could make it more competitive against rivals like the Panigale V4.

2025 Bajaj Pulsar RS200The Indian two-wheeler market in June 2025 witnessed mixed trends, with a few brands registering impressive year-on-year (YoY) growth, while others faced a drop in volumes. Here’s a look at the top 10 best-selling two-wheelers of the month.
Top 10 Two Wheelers June 2025 – YoY Comparison
At the top of the charts, the Hero Splendor continued its dominance with sales of 3,31,057 units, recording an 8.34% YoY growth compared to 3,05,586 units in June last year. Taking second place was the Honda Activa, which clocked 1,83,265 units, down from 2,33,376 units last year. The 21.47% decline suggests growing pressure from rivals in the scooter segment, including newer entrants and upgrades from competitors.
Top 10 Two Wheelers June 2025 – YoY Comparison
In third spot, the Honda Shine registered 1,34,817 units, slightly lower than its June 2024 figure of 1,39,587 units, marking a 3.42% decline. TVS Jupiter made an impressive climb to the fourth position, with sales of 1,07,980 units, up by a massive 49.76% from 72,100 units last year.
Fifth place was secured by the Hero HF Deluxe, which sold 1,00,878 units, posting a healthy 12.16% growth over 89,941 units in June 2024. The Suzuki Access came in sixth with 51,555 units, nearly flat with a marginal 1.22% decline compared to last year’s 52,192 units.

Overall, the top 10 two-wheelers collectively accounted for 11,01,911 units in June 2025, a marginal 0.39% decline from 11,06,245 units a year ago. Despite headwinds, the segment remains strong, with notable momentum seen in scooters and premium bikes. More

Honda Activa e Home Charging May Become A Reality With A Dock

Honda CUV e Home Charging Solution on CUV eHonda’s battery swapping stations are still in nascent stage and it is quite impossible to free yourself from Honda’s walled garden if you want to charge an Activa e by yourself. That might change soon as the company may introduce a charging dock to charge these proprietary battery packs at home or any other place of your choosing.
This is a potential solution for Indian market and HMSI (Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India) has not officially confirmed it. The speculation arises from Honda CUV e, an electric scooter for Europe, which comes with a portable charging dock that allows you to charge these swappable battery packs anywhere you like. Let’s take a closer look.
Honda Electric Scooter Battery Swapping Station
    Honda Activa e Home Charging
HMSI won the race and became the first Japanese electric scooter manufacturer operating in India. In this race, however, Honda seems to have hurried things up and missed the bigger picture as Activa e can only be charged from Honda’s proprietary battery swapping stations. Unlike Honda QC1, which gets a 330W off-board AC charging.
In Europe, Honda just commenced the sales of CUV e electric scooter which comes with a portable dock that allows users to charge these battery packs at their convenience. Both Activa e and CUV e bear slightly different exterior styling, but comparable powertrains underneath with two removable batteries and come without a built-in charging solution.
Honda CUV e Home Charging Solution on CUV e
With CUV e, Honda offers a total of 2.6 kWh total capacity, split between two 1.4 kWh swappable battery packs. With Activa e in India, Honda offers a 3 kWh total capacity, split between two 1.5 kWh battery packs. Implementation of these swappable battery packs is almost similar between both vehicles.
Home charging for Activa e in India?
Looking at the solution Honda has carved out for Europe, potential Activa e buyers in India can be hopeful that the company will bundle a solution like this here. It is needed because Honda Activa e completely depends on the swapping stations that are currently only seen in Bengaluru and are quite few in number.
Honda CUV e Home Charging Solution on CUV e
If a buyer wants to charge Activa e at their house or apartment or at office, they are simply helpless as of writing this article. If the company implements a similar charging dock solution for India, it could nudge more buyers to look at Activa e. Which we feel is needed as these EV buyers are spoiled with choices that offer a lot more features and technology, while undercutting Activa e in pricing.

There are four colours on offer – Arsenal Black, Fury Yellow, Fiery Red and Sepang Blue, depending on variants chosen.
2025 Apache RTR 310 First Ride Review
Fiery Red is a new colour, while other three are carried over with refreshed graphics for a more appealing look. Added knuckle guards have a sturdy metallic mount at one end and lend a muscular look and add to the overall aggression of this motorcycle. To untrained eyes, new 2025 model looks almost identical to its predecessor, which is not a bad thing as it was a handsome machine to begin with.
2025 Apache RTR 310 First Ride Review
    New Features!
This is what it boil down to, with 2025 Apache RTR 310. The new features. New RTR 310 continues with its reverse-inclined 312.12cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC 4V/cyl engine that contributes to mass centralisation and overall handling characteristics. The engine is updated with a new forged aluminium piston which is stronger and lighter than before and PVC coated piston rings. Together, they ensure higher endurance than before.
2025 Apache RTR 310 First Ride Review
New model gets the same transparent clutch cover which we saw on updated Apache RR 310 last year. With 2025 model, TVS has added keyless functionality, which is a breath of fresh air in the premium street fighter genre. Michelin Road 5 tyres promise more traction and stability on roads and track. Biggest upgrade in features are with electronic rider aids on 2025 Apache RTR 310.
2025 Apache RTR 310 First Ride Review
The most notable addition is Launch Control, which can be turned on when Track Ride Mode is selected. When activated, rider should hold the clutch, go full throttle and release the clutch and the bike will launch with optimum traction. Also new, is Drag Torque Control, unlocked with its 6-axis IMU (Inertia Measurement Unit). This feature allows for aggressive downshifts during engine braking, preventing rear wheel slip.
2025 Apache RTR 310 First Ride Review
There are a lot of features offered as standard even with the Base variant. These include the Michelin Road 5 tyres, new knuckle guards, sequential turn indicators, transparent clutch cover, cruise control, linear traction control, drag torque control, rear wheel lift protection and more. Upgrading to the Top variant brings a bi-directional quick-shifter.
2025 Apache RTR 310 First Ride Review
BTO Pack 1 or Dynamic Kit brings TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), adjustable front and rear suspension from KYB along with a Brass coated chain. It is BTO Kit 2 or Dynamic Pro kit that brings out all the bells and whistles including keyless ride, launch control, cornering drag torque control, cornering ABS, cornering traction control, cornering cruise control and slope dependent control, among others.
2025 Apache RTR 310 First Ride Review
Other than these, 2025 Apache RTR 310 continues with most of the features that its predecessor carried. These include LED lighting, 5-inch TFT instrument cluster with a host of information and controls, fancy switchgear, a trellis frame and aluminium rear subframe, fat tyres, premium braking components and more.
2025 Apache RTR 310 First Ride Review
    Performance – Road & Track
2025 Apache RTR 310 is more of an experience upgrade than performance upgrade. That’s because this motorcycle still offers the same performance metrics that it used to offer before. It still offers 35.6 PS and 28.7 Nm in Sport, Track and SuperMoto modes and 27.1 PS and 27.3 Nm in Urban and Rain mode. So, the improved performance that we saw with 2024 Apache RR 310 is not a part of 2025 Apache RTR 310.
2025 Apache RTR 310 First Ride Review
It would have been more thrilling if TVS had infused the higher performance of updated RR 310. As things stand, 2025 Apache RTR 310 offers a similar performance as it did before. TVS had organised a track session at the CoASTT High Performance Centre in Coimbatore and a long road ride in and around Coimbatore.
2025 Apache RTR 310 First Ride Review

On the track, we only used launch control feature once at the start of our lap. It allowed us to launch this motorcycle like a missile without losing traction or the front wheel lifting off. It was a well tuned and implemented feature. Linear and cornering drag torque control worked well too and we didn’t once face any wheel slippage under aggressive downshifts on the race track.
2025 Apache RTR 310 First Ride Review
The Michelin Road 5 dual compound tyres offered excellent feel and feedback along with optimum traction, making track work breeze. This is also down to the combination of bike’s chassis agility, steering geometry, performance, extensive rider aids, impeccable braking, TVS’ extensive racing expertise and more. All these aspects give a boost in confidence to riders to tackle corners carrying higher speeds, lean more, brake late and throttle early.
2025 Apache RTR 310 First Ride Review
On the road, 2025 Apache RTR 310 offered excellent low-speed driveability and did not heat up as much in slow-moving traffic. Suspension tuning even at TVS’ prescribed settings, did a great job absorbing bumps and undulations of public roads. Suspension can be dialled up or down as per rider preference as they are fully adjustable for pre-load, rebound and compression with BTO variants.
2025 Apache RTR 310 First Ride Review
    Conclusion
There’s nothing to complain about the 2025 TVS Apache RTR 310. It continues to be an excellent segue into the big bike realm if you want to experience and get well versed with all electronic rider aids offered by these expensive big bikes. In the segment this bike operates, we cannot think of another motorcycle that packs these many features and electronic rider aids at that price point, making it a VFM choice.
2025 Apache RTR 310 First Ride Review
This bike is clearly not for the ‘No Replacement For Displacement’ audience out there who are just chasing spec sheets and raw performance numbers without realising the new onslaught in rider aids. For audience who wants to experience finer features and the latest and greatest in motorcycling world at an affordable price, 2025 Apache RTR 310 makes a heck of a proposition.

Honda Shine Electric Bike Patent Leaks – Swappable Battery Like Active e

Honda Shine Electric Bike Patent LeakedHonda Motorcycles & Scooters India Ltd emerged as the first Japanese brand in India to come up with an electric offering. In fact, Honda came up with two EVs, QC1 and Activa e. Now, there seems to be a third EV that the company is developing. Only, this is not an electric scooter, but its first ever electric motorcycle. Let’s take a closer look.
Honda Shine Electric Bike Patent Leaks
As per a leaked patent document, Honda seems to be working on its first ever electric commuter motorcycle. This development has surfaced right on the cusp of a new wave of electric motorcycles that are just breaking the surface. Right now, we already have Ola Roadster X, Oben Rorr EZ, Revolt RV and Pure EV EcoDryft.
Now, Honda seems to be diving into this segment with a budget commuter, which could bear the name Shine in it. Say, Shine e, similar to what the naming strategy was with Activa e. We say this because the leaked patent design shows a budget commuter with what looks like a cradle chassis holding electric batteries and motor.
These batteries are likely to be the same as the ones seen in Activa e, which are swappable at Honda’s swapping stations that are currently only present in Bengaluru and only cater to Activa e. If they are leveraging already established swapping stations, these battery packs are likely to be of the same capacity too, which is 1.5 kWh each, adding up to 3 kWh in total.
Honda Shine Electric Bike Patent Leaked
    Derived EV from Shine ICE?
Interestingly, this would be the first electric vehicle to launch in India that might have a shared platform with an already existing ICE vehicle. Derived EVs, as we call them in electric 4W industry which is quite a common approach. We can see that this leaked patent carries a similar silhouette as that of a Shine.
A long single-piece seat, commuter style headlight assembly, 17-inch or 18-inch alloy wheels, RSU telescopic front forks, twin shock absorbers at the rear and conventional tube-type handlebar are some of the notable features that one can deduce from these leaked patent designs.
There may be a fully digital instrument cluster to show all parameters of an electric powertrain. Nothing fancy like a touchscreen display or anything else is expected. The company might price it at a premium when compared to the Shine 100 and Shine 125, which are currently among the best-selling commuters in India, only behind Hero MotoCorp’s Splendor. More
