New KTM Duke 125, Duke 200 Colours Arrive At Dealer – Walkaround

While KTM 390 Duke gets two new colour options, 125, 200 and 250 Dukes get one new colour option eachKTM New Colours – Duke 125 and Duke 200In line with its strategy to refresh its portfolio, KTM has introduced new colour options for entire Duke range. 390 Duke gets two new colour options, Liquid Metal and Dark Galvano. 250 Duke gets Ebony Black whereas 200 Duke will now come with a Dark Silver Metallic shade. Entry-level 125 Duke gets Ceramic White colour.Combo of KTM’s signature orange shade, highlighted against grey/black/white colours continues to be the primary theme. Various combinations of these colours have been used in the past and KTM seems to get it right every time. 2022 colour updates will ensure a more premium, sharper look and feel for KTM Duke motorcycles.KTM 125, 200, 250 Duke new coloursSmallest Duke 125 gets the most vibrant Ceramic White colour theme, a combo of orange, white, blue and black. Orange shade is primarily used on the wheels, whereas white covers the top section such as headlight cowl, tank shrouds and rear sub-frame. Duke lettering on the tank shrouds is done in orange, blue and white.KTM 200 Duke’s Dark Silver Metallic has glossy metallic shade on front mudguard and tank shrouds. Remaining surfaces largely have either black or orange shade. A small hint of blue can be seen on ‘Duke’ lettering on tank shrouds. This colourway looks a bit chaotic, but can work for folks who have a taste for things metallic. Take a look at the detailed walkaround of KTM Duke new colours in the video below by Biker Prakash Choudhary.[embedded content][embedded content]New colour Ebony Black for KTM 250 Duke is essentially a simple combo of orange and black. However, things are a bit different here in comparison to Dark Galvano, as orange shade has been used on headlamp cowl, front mudguard and rear sub-frame. Most significant differentiator is ‘250’ decal in big font size on tank shrouds.KTM 390 Duke new coloursTrue to its name, Dark Galvano colour ensures an electrifying profile for 390 Duke. It’s a simple combo of orange and black, and yet it seems just perfect for the bike. Most of the surfaces have the black shade, which creates a suitable background for the lively orange coloured frame. Orange shade has been used only on the central frame and not on the subframe that comes in black. Rear monoshock in white also stands out against the blacked-out theme.Second colour option of Liquid Metal has a similar profile, but orange is more liberally used for this colourway. In addition to the frame, orange shade has been added to the headlamp cowl, fuel tank, wheels and rear tail section.Another highlight is varying shades of grey on the tank shrouds. While Dark Galvano ensures a dominating presence, Liquid Metal colour theme has more friendly vibes. Apart from the new colours, there are no other changes to KTM Duke bikes. Also, pricing is the same as earlier. More

Mahindra XUV400 Electric Sunroof Spied – New Spy Shots

Mahindra XUV400 is likely to get high-energy-dense NMC cells from LG Chem to rival LFP cells on Nexon EVMahindra XUV400 Electric SpiedMahindra is on the rise to establish itself as India’s leading EV manufacturer. They unveiled 5 electric SUV concepts last month. Each one is set to make a lot more bang than the other. Mahindra basically wants to rain EVs with its strategic partnership with VW to license their proprietary scalable MEB EV architecture. The fruits of this partnership though, will maybe ripen in 2023 and later. But in the meantime, Mahindra can’t just let Tata eat the EV cake by itself as Nexon EV accounts to 85% of 4W EV segment. In that light, we will see the reveal of XUV400 Electric based on SsangYong Tivoli’s original dimensions of 4.2m. Latest spy shots confirm the presence of a sunroof.Mahindra XUV400 Electric SunroofIn the previous teaser, we got to see a brief glimpse of XUV400 Electric’s front fascia. That’s it. As we said, it was brief. But looking at that teaser, it could be instantly deduced that it was similar to XUV300 Electric concept that was showcased at 2020 Auto Expo. It has a similar headlight design and also gets boomerang-shaped LED DRLs that look nice. The main highlight of this teaser is XUV400’s profile. It retains Ssangyong Tivoli’s original 4.2m length which was reduced to fit a 4m constraint to fit it into B-segment. But EVs don’t benefit from this hack at all. Hence, the retained dimensions. With a 4.2m length, XUV400 Electric comes off as a much more proportionate and handsome design.[embedded content][embedded content]This length also allows Mahindra to offer a larger boot which was the Achilles Heal of XUV300. 17” wheels are also likely to be carried over from XUV300. Another missing feature on XUV300 was rear AC vents which is also likely to be offered with XUV400 Electric. Latest spy video from PowerStroke PS confirms the presence of a sunroof in the new Electric XUV400.Specs & PricingThe MEB platform sourced from VW named INGLO will not be offered with XUV400. But all five EVs that Mahindra showcased on August 15th, will be based on this new platform. XUV400 Electric is likely to get NMC cells sourced from LG Chem and are considered superior to LFP cells that are used on its stark rival Nexon EV Prime and Nexon EV Max.We can expect around 150 bhp of power along with 400 km of claimed range and 300 km of real-world range from around 40 to 45 kWh battery pack. But Mahindra being Mahindra, we can expect a tonne of features too. We’re talking about a large touchscreen infotainment with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a sunroof, wireless phone charger, ADAS features, dual-zone climate control, 7 airbags and a lot more. There are also speculations about two battery pack options like we have with Nexon EV. XUV400 is likely to slot between Nexon EVs and MG ZS EV. Pricing can be in the ballpark of Rs. 15 to 20 lakh (ex-sh). Nexon EV Max is priced from Rs 18.34 lakh to Rs 19.84 lakh. Whereas, MG ZS EV is priced from Rs 21.99 lakh. More details will be unveiled on 8th September. More

2009 Aston Martin DBS Is Our Bring a Trailer Auction Pick of the Day

    • This 2009 Aston Martin DBS currently up for sale on Bring a Trailer looks like the perfect grand tourer to drive into the electric era.• It features a 5.9-liter V-12 paired to a six-speed manual transmission, and it produces 510 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. • Despite 46,000 miles logged on the odometer, this DBS seems well cared for and includes recent services including fresh tires. Bidding ends Thursday, September 8.Grand touring cars should look great, offer top-notch luxury, and provide incredible performance. The best grand tourers offer manual gearboxes and high-cylinder-count engines as well. The Aston Martin DBS shown here, and for sale now on Bring a Trailer (which like Car and Driver, is part of Hearst Autos), has all of the above. Looks are subjective, but I would argue strongly in favor of the DBS as one of the most heart-wrenchingly beautiful cars in the modern age. The body lines flow smoothly from the iconic front end over squatting hips at the rear. The DBS looks akin to a jaguar waiting patiently in the weeds, ready to pounce.

By modern standards, of course the DBS falls behind. The car is over 10 years old, leading the infotainment to look a bit too much like your first flip phone. But infotainment isn’t why you buy a rear-wheel-drive, six-speed GT car with a 5.9-liter V-12 ready to roar through its gears. Neither is the Aston Martin–branded umbrella, but it would be fun to show off at a Saturday Cars and Coffee.

    Bring a Trailer

The V-12 here may have 46,000 miles on the clock, and repairs probably run near the cost of a few vital organs, but this DBS does seem well cared for. Perhaps you recognize the DBS from Casino Royale, in which freshly minted Bond Daniel Craig flips his DBS so as not to run over his lady love. High mileage can be scary, especially with a supercar, but if it were my money, I’d take the risk.

    Bring a Trailer

We may have given the edge to a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano in a 2008 comparison test, but that was before I got here—and anyway, the author referred to the DBS as “mighty fine.” Those sparkling words of praise, DIY shifting, and a raucous V-12 should convince any prospective bidders who are on the fence—assuming they can afford the six figures it is likely to go for. With six days left before bidding ends on Thursday, September 8, the high offer is at $80,000 and sure to go way up from there.

1160-HP Ariel Hipercar Is an EV Sports Car with a Turbine Range Extender

Ariel, a small British carmaker responsible for the iconic Atom and Nomad, revealed its newest car Thursday, simply called the Hipercar. A big departure from the exoskeleton-like vehicles normally associated with the brand, the Hipercar is an all-electric sports car with a real(-ish) interior and body panels. Even crazier than the absurd bodywork is the option for a turbine range extender. Hipercar isn’t just a clever name. It stands for High Performance Carbon Reduction. The chassis and subframes are aluminum, while the frankly ridiculous body structure—which is expected to go into production unchanged—is made from carbon fiber.

Power comes from a Cosworth-supplied 62.0-kWh battery pack that runs on an 800-volt architecture. Buyers can opt for rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, with a 290-hp Equipmake APM electric motor at each wheel. Total output for the all-wheel-drive variant is 1163 horsepower and 1327 pound-feet of torque, while the rear-drive version gets 581 hp and 664 pound-feet.
The most fascinating part of the Hipercar isn’t its weird body, it’s the optional range extender. Instead of opting for a conventional piston engine or even a rotary like Mazda, Ariel decided to use Cosworth’s CatGen turbine engine as a range extender. It makes about 47 hp and turns on to charge the batteries while on the move. The Hipercar you see here is Ariel’s first production-intent prototype. The company hasn’t said how much the car will cost or when deliveries will begin, though we’re expecting to learn more later in the year. More

Subaru Teases a New SUV That Looks Like the Next Crosstrek

Subaru posted a video online that teases a new SUV model that’ll be revealed on September 15.The 15-second clip shows several shrouded shots of the upcoming ute, which looks a lot like the next-gen Crosstrek. We’re surprised Subaru would reveal a new Crosstrek before a new Impreza since they’re one and the same, but maybe it means the small car is on borrowed time. The next generation of the Subaru Crosstrek could be on the way. At least that’s our takeaway after watching a video Subaru posted online today that teases a new SUV model, which the company plans to reveal September 15.

The 15-second clip was posted on YouTube by Subaru of Japan, and it can also be seen on the Japanese website. Almost all of the shots are shrouded in darkness, with only a few specific details visible. The clearest design elements we can see are the headlights and taillights, which look similar to units on Subaru’s newest models. Illuminating DetailsAlong with the new SUV’s headlights and taillights, we’re able to make out parts of its front end. There appears to be a crossbar connecting the tips of the headlights and running across the upper part of the grille. The Subaru logo is positioned in the middle of the crossbar. The grille itself looks to have a large outline, much bigger than the current Crosstrek. However, the shot of the rear quarter panel shows character lines that appear awfully similar to those on the current Crosstrek.

    Subaru

Stubby Subie SpottedWith all the shadowy close-ups and quick cuts, it’s hard to gain perspective on the size of the SUV in the video. Still, there’s one part of the short clip that shows its stubby stature when the Subie enters a dark cave. That shot makes it look wider than it is tall, which aligns with the current Crosstrek’s dimensions, as it measures 63.1 inches high and 71.0 inches wide.

    Subaru

Bye, Bye Impreza? We feel confident the SUV teased in the video and the one Subaru plans to reveal on September 15 is the next-generation Crosstrek. If that turns out to be true, it makes us wonder why the company would reveal a new Crosstrek before a new Impreza. After all, they’re one and the same. The Crosstrek evolved from the previous Impreza-based Outback Sport hatchback from several years ago, and it remains a lifted version of the current Impreza hatch, sharing a platform, powertrains, and much of its styling, despite wearing a different nameplate.A look at the sales for both models shows that over the last two years Subaru has sold more than twice as many Crosstreks as Imprezas. That, combined with its higher asking price, makes the SUV model a lot more profitable, and it could signify that the Impreza is on borrowed time in the U.S. market.

New Volkswagen Electric Car Spied Near Pune – 2023 Launch?

VW ID.4 could get different powertrain options with a RWD or an AWD variant when launched in IndiaNew Volkswagen Electric Car Spied – ID.4 GTXVolkswagen was in the news recently as it is providing a license to Mahindra for its proprietary MEB platform. Mahindra calls it the INGLO platform and the five electric cars that were showcased on August 15th, will be based on this platform. Mahindra is the second customer for Volkswagen for their MEB platform after Ford. But Volkswagen also seems to be eyeing the growing EV popularity in India. If they are supplying Mahindra with MEB components in India, they might as well launch a vehicle with that very platform in India that might set a precedent for future OEMs that might source MEB platforms from Volkswagen Groups. In that regard, we have seen Skoda Enyaq iV 80X variant with 77 kWh battery undergoing testing on road in Pune, Maharashtra. But now, we also have spotted VW ID.4 GTX that also gets the same 77 kWh battery too. Let’s take a look.New Volkswagen Electric Car SpiedRecently spotted, the ID.4 GTX is the high-performance variant. ID.4 looks just like the rest of Volkswagen’s ID lineup. It is based on VW’s ID Crozz concept that was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. It is currently manufactured in Chattanooga, USA and also in China outside Germany.New Volkswagen Electric Car Spied – ID.4 GTXThe GTX variant that is spotted in India is instantly recognisable with its red shade with its interesting dual-tone alloy wheels. These wheels are 20” though which is a size larger than Skoda Enyaq’s 19”. Volkswagen always positions itself as the premium offering above Skoda and below Audi. Speaking of Audi, Q4 e-tron is also the same car underneath too along with Skoda Enyaq.New Volkswagen Electric Car Spied – ID.4 GTXBoth VW ID.4 GTX and Skoda Enyaq iV 80X are spotted testing in India completely undisguised. Imports are generally not camouflaged while testing, as we saw with the ID.4’s rival Kia EV6. But that generally doesn’t mean that a launch is imminent. Manufacturers might also be testing only some of their components or their powertrain.Mahindra’s INGLO platform is based on VW’s MEB global scalable platform. This platform also underpins VW ID.4 and Skoda Enyaq too. It is likely that they are testing this platform for Indian conditions with both these test mules.New Volkswagen Electric Car Spied – ID.4 GTXSpecs & PricingBecause they’re imports, we’re likely to only get top-spec trims like GTX on ID.4 and 80X on Enyaq. VW ID.4 GTX gets a 77 kWh battery pack that is capable of dishing out 302 bhp. Claimed range is 418 km for North American markets and 522 km in WLTP cycle. ID.4 is 4,584mm long and has 2,765mm of wheelbase. Which makes it roughly the size of Harrier and the likes. ID.5 is a coupe variant of ID.4 and is slightly longer.Volkswagen Electric Car ID.4 GTX is likely to get the same set of features that the global model gets. When launched, ID.4 GTX will rival Kia EV6, recently launched Volvo XC40 Recharge and upcoming Ioniq 5 along with ID.4’s Czech cousin Enyaq (if launched). Right now, we have Tata Nexon EV that tops the charts while XUV400 Electric is set to debut on September 8th.  More
