2021 Kia Telluride Nightfall Edition Makes the Three-Row Look Even Better in Black

  • Kia is adding a blacked-out Nightfall edition to the 2021 Telluride SUV, and we approve of the looks.
  • It includes an exclusive black grille, tons of black accents, and special 20-inch all black wheels.
  • The Nightfall treatment costs $1295 and is available on the Telluride EX AWD with the Premium package, the SX AWD, and the SX Prestige, and will arrive by the end of the summer.

We’re big fans of the Kia Telluride here at Car and Driver. So much, in fact that we gave it a 10Best award its first year on the market and immediately parked one in our long-term garage. Our long-termer gets tons of praise from the staff on its comfort and good looks—our test car is finished in an elegant Dark Moss shade of green—and for the 2021 model year, Kia is adding a blacked-out Nightfall edition. We’re very much intrigued by the way it looks.

The Nightfall edition SUVs get a special blacked-out grille with a larger rectangular pattern and gloss-black roof rails, door and window trim, skid plates, and badging. They’re not all painted completely black, though: the Telluride Nightfall can be ordered in Snow White Pearl, Everlasting Silver, Gravity Gray, Ebony Black, Sangria, Black Copper, a new Wolf Gray color, and this writer’s personal favorite, Dark Moss. They also get Nightfall edition–exclusive all black 20-inch wheels and LED headlights and fog lamps with a black inner bezel.

Every Kia Telluride is powered by a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter V-6 that produces 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. During C/D testing, the Telluride SX launched from zero to 60 mph in 7.0 seconds and achieved 24 mpg on our 200-mile highway loop. They also all have 8.0 inches of ground clearance for off-road adventuring and can tow up to 5000 pounds.

The Nightfall package costs $1295. It’s available on all-wheel-drive models of the two top Telluride models, the EX and SX. Choosing it for the EX AWD requires you also opt for the $1695 Premium package, for a total price of $43,550. On the SX AWD, it’s $46,555, and on the SX AWD with the Prestige package that adds nappa-leather seating, heated and ventilated second-row seating, and a head-up display among other luxuries, the total price with Nightfall edition package comes to $48,855.

The Nightfall edition SUVs will arrive in dealers by the end of this summer.
