Hero Electric Scooter AE 29
The Hero Electric AE-29 is the first e-scooter from the brand to offer smart connectivity features and a range of 80 kms.
Hero Electric has brought a new range of electric scooters to the 2020 Auto Expo. The AE-29 and the lower-spec AE-8 are on display in grey and blue colour options, respectively. The AE-29 electric scooter is quite loaded in terms of features and engine specifications, for its segment.
Where its features are concerned, the Hero AE-29 gets a digital instrument console, LED headlamp, Bluetooth connectivity and an anti-theft alarm system. It is powered by a 1KW motor with a 3.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Hero Electric claims that this battery can be charged up to 100 per cent in 4 hours. It will be capable of a top speed of 55 kmph and a range of 80 kms; making it ideally suited for daily city commuting. The AE-29 rides on telescopic forks in the front and twin-sided springs at the rear.
Apart from the AE-29 electric scooter, Hero Electric has the AE-47 motorcycle and AE-3 trike on display along with the AE-75; a high-speed electric scooter developed in partnership with Sahara Evols. These electric vehicles are being added to the company’s current lineup of EE2, E5 and ER series with better connectivity features and higher riding range.
Coming to the other products, the Hero AE-47 motorcycle is a high-speed electric bike that gets its power via a 4kW motor along with a 3.5 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack. It claims acceleration from 0 to 60 kmph in 9 seconds and a top speed of 85 kmph.
Hero E-3 electric trike is directed towards B2B segment. It is powered by a 250 kW motor with a 48V/3kWh battery pack that can be charged up to 100 per cent in 5 hours and promises to offer a range of 100 kms. The company pegs the top speed at 80 kmph. Onboard features include a digital instrument cluster, mobile charger, smartphone app, GPS, walk assist and reverse assist.
No official prices or timeline for the launch were announced as on date but Hero Electric is planning an expansion of dealer network from the current 620 outlets to 1,000 dealerships by the end of this year.
