Bajaj Platina H Gear 110 BS6
Bajaj Platina has been officially launched in India. It is offered in 100cc and 110cc engine options.
Bajaj Platina BS6, the popular 100 cc commuter motorcycle has been receiving periodic updates to comply with the changing regulations and to stay relevant in an extremely competitive market segment. Along with BS6 update, Bajaj has given the Platina range 13 new changes.
The 2020 Bajaj Platina BS6 comes with a host of updates not the least of which is the electronic injection system which Bajaj calls as e-carburetor. In addition to the e-carb, the motorcycle also benefits from an extra catalytic converter to bring the emissions down. Compared to the previous edition, the updated engine emits almost 50% less carbon monoxide, while NoX emission has been reduced to negligible levels.
Bajaj Platina 100 BS6
The 102 cc air-cooled engine is the same unit that also serves the CT 100. In its BS6 avatar, the motor continues to develop 7.7 hp and 8 Nm of torque. The 4-speed gearbox has been retain. The 2020 Platina is estimated to delivery a mileage of 95 kmpl. The 110 cc H Gear option is also on offer, with output similar to the BS4 variant.
Bajaj has used this opportunity to introduce minor updates as well. The speedometer now receives an engine-check warning light. The addition of ECU has also warranted update in wiring and fuse box. The DRL and taillight receive minor tweaks while the handlebar grips are new. It is being reported that Bajaj has also made some tweaks to the engine fasteners to reduce vibration and rusting. Apart from the visor which has now become translucent, there are no noticeable aesthetic changes. The 2020 Bajaj Platina BS6 continues to feature the familiar body graphics. The updates have resulted in price increase. New prices start from Rs 47k for the base variant with kick start and Rs 55k for the 100cc Platina kick start. All prices are ex-sh. These prices are about Rs 7k higher than BS4 Platina. The Bajaj Platina 100 competes with the likes of Hero HF Deluxe, TVS Sport, etc.
