The two wheeler segment suffered a YoY and MoM decline in retail sales in Nov 2025 with Hero MotoCorp retaining its top spot
The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), India, has revealed that the two-wheeler industry ended Nov 2025 on a lower note. India’s two-wheeler industry, which had recorded strong performance in Oct 2025, with two-wheeler sales at a lifetime high, accounted for total sales of 25,46,184 units in the past month.
It saw a 3.10% drop YoY as against 26,27,617 units sold in Nov 2024. MoM sales also ended on a lower note with a 19.16% decline from 31,49,846 units sold in Oct 2025. There was, however, strong year-to-date performance, with 2W sales rising to 1,45,54,592 units during the April-Nov 2025 period from 1,32,76,920 units sold in the same period last year, representing a 9.62% improvement.
Dealers have cited many reasons for the YoY decline that the segment has suffered. The post festive month related to lower demand. There was also a delay in crop payments while showroom footfalls significantly diminished.
2W Retail Sales Nov 2025
Hero MotoCorp, though continuing to command a top spot on this list, saw its sales decline to 8,86,002 units in Nov 2025 from 9,17,174 units of Nov 2024. Market share dipped marginally to 34.80% from 34.91% YoY. New launches include the 2026 Hero Xtreme 160R and Hero Vida VX2 Go 3.4 kWh variant.
At No. 2, Honda has also seen sales declined sharply to 6,06,284 units, down from 6,57,115 units. Market share also fell to 23.81% from 25.01% on a YoY basis. Honda has paused production of the Activa e: and QC1 electric scooters on account of lower demand while dealers have been left with huge consignment of unsold stocks.
TVS Motor sales have grown strongly in the past month. Sales which had stood at 4,23,078 units in Nov 2024 rose to 4,45,617 units last month taking market share up to 17.50%. The company has commenced deliveries of the TVS Apache RTX 300 while the Ronin Agonda made its presence felt at the MotoSoul 2025 event in Goa.
Another two wheeler maker to report lower sales was Bajaj Auto. Sales declined to 2,58,585 units in the past month from 3,05,253 units of Nov 2024. Earlier this month, the company refreshed its Pulsar N160 lineup while there is a new electric motorcycle in the works and its launch will further strengthen the company’s hold across the electric two wheeler segment.
Lower down the sales order, Royal Enfield and Suzuki have both recorded YoY sales growth in retail demand. RE sales went up to 1,15,353 units from 96,302 units while Suzuki retail sales stood at 1,04,638 units well over 92,548 units sold in Nov 2024. India Yamaha Motor sales also ended on a positive note with 70,929 units sold last month from 68,574 units sold in the same month last year.
Electric 2W Retail Sales Nov 2025
The electric two wheeler segment has seen strong players like Ather Energy report rapid growth. Ather sales went up to 20,349 units in Nov 2025 this marks a 57% YoY increase, compared with 12,963 units sold in Nov 2024.
Weakening demand continued for Ola electric scooters with the company reporting 8,402 unit sales last month. This was a 71% YoY drop compared to November 2024 when 29,322 units has been sold. There was also Greaves Electric with 5,764 unit sales last month, a YoY growth from 4,471 units of Nov 2024.
Classic Legends also saw sales improve on a YoY basis to 5,756 units from 4,277 units while Piaggio sales grew to 3,348 units from 3,187 units YoY. Bgauss was lower down on the sales list with 2,566 unit sales last month, a significantly higher number when compared to 1,881 units sold in the same month last year. Other two wheeler makers, that also included some electric OEMs added 12,591 units to total retail sales in Nov 2025, a growth from 11,472 units sold in Nov 2024.
