India has been the land of Scooters and Motorcycles. Leading the scooter segment, we have Honda, with the ever-green Activa. The company is also venturing into electric scooters with the recently debuted Activa e and QC1. However, Honda has a vast scooter portfolio globally including large capacity ones, like the X-ADV 750.

This scooter was recently updated globally with a MY24 version debuting new colours. But what has caught our attention is a Honda X-ADV 750 scooter which is legally registered from Arunachal Pradesh state in what looks like Mumbai City. This scooter has not yet been formally launched in India, but is speculated to launch in 2025.

Despite HMSI (Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India) being the de facto scooter manufacturer in India, there are sadly no advancements from the brand in large capacity offerings. Not even a 160cc scooter, something that Yamaha and Aprilia offer, with Hero MotoCorp intending to crash the party with Xoom 160 ADV scooter.

But what about very large capacity maxi-scooters? Yamaha seems to be testing the waters with TMax mules spotted in India. And recently, we came across a social media post by Chiliverishiva showing a Honda X-ADV 750 SP maxi-scooter. However, this big boy from Honda was not a test mule. There are launch speculations of Honda X-ADV 750 in India.

Instead, it was a fully road legal privately owned scooter registered in Arunachal Pradesh state in the North East. It was spotted in what looked like Mumbai city in Maharashtra. There is a very good probability of this being privately imported into India and then legally registered in the Asian Subcontinent.

This particular Honda X-ADV 750 SP is donning a lovely Grand Prix Red shade. It didn’t seem to be bundling any accessory packs like Adventure Pack, Comfort Pack, Style Pack, Travel Pack and Urban Pack. It would be interesting to see if more Indians try and explore the private import route to get the vehicles they want, which OEMs are not launching in India.

What does it get?

Honda X-ADV 750 SP is a big maxi-scooter with a lot of road presence. It is unmissable on the road and garners a lot of attention owing to its muscular and mean design. It has a smart front fairing with adjustable windshield and LED lighting. There is a 17-inch front and 15-inch rear wire-spoke wheels along with a dual disc brake setup at the front.

A 745cc parallel-twin engine generates around 58 bhp of peak power and 69 Nm of peak torque. A 6-speed DCT gearbox with trigger shifters on the left switchgear transmits this nice torque. There is a good probability of Honda launching X-ADV 750 in India in 2025.
