TVS has added more options to its 300cc portfolio with the new Apache RTX 300 ADV bike. In this space, the brand already offers RTR 310 and RR 310. Upon launch, TVS Apache RTX 300 will challenge rivals like KTM 250 Adventure.
TVS Apache RTX 300 Spotted – Key features
Revealed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, TVS Apache RTX 300 has dual headlamp design, an ADV front beak and a large windscreen. At the front, one can also notice the USD forks in golden finish. Other key features include knuckle guards, sculpted fuel tank, sleek tank extensions, split seats and a chunky upswept exhaust.
The bike has robust grab rails and mounting racks for a top box and side panniers. For touring needs, TVS is likely to offer a comprehensive range of accessories with Apache RTX 300. This model revealed at the Bharat Expo 2025 has alloy wheels. Front and rear wheels measure 19-inch and 17-inch, respectively, and are wrapped in dual-purpose tyres.
It is expected that this road-biased version of Apache RTX 300 could be launched later this year. Reports indicate that an off-road version of Apache RTX 300 is also under development. This model will have spoke wheels, 21-inch at front and 17-inch at the rear. The off-road version will be launched a few months after the launch of the road-biased version.
TVS Apache RTX 300 uses a steel trellis frame in combination with a separate sub-frame at the rear. While the front has USD forks, the bike gets a mono-shock unit at the rear. The colour theme seems attractive and one can also notice some sporty graphics on the side panels. The fuel tank has ‘Apache’ lettering in red, whereas the tank extension has the TVS galloping horse logo in black finish. The visuals are not as flamboyant as the KTMs, but overall profile seems refined and mature.
TVS Apache RTX 300 – New engine, improved performance
Powering TVS Apache RTX 300 will be a new RT-XD4 engine. TVS unveiled this new engine last year in December. It is a 299cc unit, with bore and stroke of 78 mm and 62.6 mm. Power output is 35.45 PS and 28.5 Nm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, integrated with a slipper clutch.
There will be advanced features such as multiple riding modes, ride-by-wire throttle and traction control system. TVS is likely to offer switchable dual-channel ABS with Apache RTX 300. TVS Motor’s existing 312.12 cc engine produces 35.6 PS and 28.7 Nm. As is evident, the new engine has slightly lower numbers.
However, as the new engine utilizes an advanced architecture, it can deliver a better overall ride experience. With its improved linear torque characteristics, the new engine can ensure smooth rides for users. It is also possible that the new engine could be lightweight in comparison to the existing 312cc unit. In that case, the new engine will have a higher power-to-weight ratio. Fuel efficiency could also be better with the new engine.
