Hero MotoCorp has just launched an exciting range of motorcycles and scooters at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 which opened its doors earlier today. Now that we have seen the launch of the motorcycles, let’s shift the focus on scooters. Hero MotoCorp has just launched Xoom 125 and Xoom 160 scooters in India. The smaller Xoom 125 is priced from Rs 86,900 (Ex-sh) and the larger Xoom 160 is priced from Rs 1,48,500 (Ex-sh).

Among the several unveilings, the Hero Xoom 160 holds a special place. It goes on to be the company’s flagship scooter offering that receives an ADV-inspired design and a maxi scooter-like stance. Starting at Rs 1.48 lakh (Ex-sh), Xoom 160 takes on the likes of Yamaha Aerox 155 and Aprilia SXR 160.

It has a tall build, an aggressive front profile, split LED headlamps and a large windscreen. It rides on 14-inch wheels and is fitted with block-styled tyres. LED screen, LED illumination, a dial for ignition and a keyless function are a part of its onboard features while it also gets a large tail section with a slim tail light. Large under-seat storage, capable of accommodating a full-size helmet is also a part of its highlight.

Features also include a central spine and a single-piece seat. Each of these features and design elements ensure that it will receive a strong road presence at launch. Hero MotoCorp is also offering the new Xoom 160 with a remote boot opening. It also gets an LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. The Xoom 160 weighs a total of 141 kg.

Powering the Hero Xoom 160 is a new 156 cc single cylinder engine. This engine offers 14 hp power at 8,000 rpm and 13.7 Nm torque at 6,500 rpm, making it one of the most powerful 160cc scooters in India. It could get a CVT gearbox with an under-bone frame. Suspension is via telescopic forks in the front and dual springs at the rear.

Where braking is concerned, the new Hero Xoom 160 receives disc brake in the front and drum brake at the rear. Xoom 160 will also receive keyless ignition and idle stop-start leading to an increased overall mileage.

Xoom 125, on the other hand, gets a smaller overall footprint, but is still positioned on a platform riding on 14-inch wheels at both ends. It directly takes on Aprilia SR 125, but is significantly affordable in pricing. Other rivals for Hero Xoom 125 are TVS NTORQ 125, Yamaha RayZR 125, Honda Dio 125 and Suzuki Avenis 125.

There are two variants of Xoom 125 – VX and ZX. Notable features include LED lighting, sleek bodywork, a sporty stance, a fully digital instrument cluster and more. Prices start from Rs 86,900 (Ex-sh) and is India’s most affordable scooter with 14-inch wheels.
