Teaser images and videos for the Vision EQXX indicate the concept will feature a slippery teardrop shape as a means of limiting its aerodynamic drag. Expect the Vision EQXX to feature a relatively light curb weight for a battery-powered luxury sedan of this size, too. Credit the car’s aforementioned shape, which will almost certainly allow Mercedes to fit a battery pack with a comparatively small capacity relative to the Vision EQXX’s purported driving range.
Still, with Mercedes aiming for energy consumption of around 200 MPGe at highway speed, the company will almost certainly need to fit the Vision EQXX with a battery that packs more than 100.0 kilowatt-hours of energy capacity to hit its targeted driving range. That and more should be revealed on January 3, so be sure to come back to this page at noon ET on Monday to see the official debut of the Vision EQXX.
