Kia Finally Talking about New Sorento, Which Will Debut in March

  • Kia has announced that the 2021 Sorento will be unveiled on March 3 at the 2020 Geneva auto show.
  • We’ve seen what it looks like, though. We spied it twice already, and we like what we see.
  • Expect the new Sorento to be on sale in the United States by the end of 2020 as a 2021 model.

Two times already, we’ve clearly seen what the new 2021 Kia Sorento will look like. However, we’ll be seeing what we’re actually supposed to see next month. Kia announced that it’ll make its official world debut at the Geneva auto show on March 3.

We did see, however, the Korea-spec Sorento, which likely won’t change much for the U.S. market. It’s sharper-looking that the current model, with modern-looking LED headlights and a jagged front grille. Out back, the vertically oriented two-bar taillights on each side compliment the angular-cut tailgate.

A hybrid model was also expected, and now Kia confirms that it’ll happen. It’ll likely be a conventional hybrid rather than a plug-in hybrid, and could get all-wheel drive, too. The standard engine choices will be gasoline-powered four-cylinder and V-6 engines.

Expect to see the 2021 Kia Sorento on sale in the U.S. by the end of the year as a 2021 model. Pricing is expected to start just under $30,000.
