The new 2021 Genesis GV80 luxury SUV will start at just under $50,000, with fully loaded models topping $70,000. This new model is the Genesis brand’s first SUV, and it’s a mid-size entry set to compete with the Mercedes GLE and BMW X5. It will soon be joined by a redesigned G80 mid-size luxury sedan with similar styling.
The base model is the $49,925 GV80 2.5T, which comes with a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and rear-wheel drive. The RWD 2.5T also comes in better-equipped Advanced ($53,825) and Prestige ($58,075) trim levels. Each of these 2.5T models offers all-wheel drive for between $5750 and $6350 extra, and the AWD models also come with extra equipment to justify those prices. The 2.5T AWD base model, for instance, has plenty of extras compared to the 2.5T RWD base model including a panoramic sunroof, wood trim, cooled front seats, a heated steering wheel.
The GV80 3.5T with its 375-hp twin-turbocharged V-6 and standard all-wheel drive starts at $60,175. It also offers Advanced ($65,375) and Prestige ($71,975) trim levels. A third row of seats costs $700 on the Advanced trim. The top Prestige trim comes with fancy stuff including 22-inch wheels, Nappa leather seats, a digital gauge cluster, and heated, cooled, and power-adjustable rear seats. Most of the GV80’s paint colors cost $400 extra.
Genesis has added these prices to the GV80’s online configurator tool, and you can currently reserve a GV80 at a dealership. The company says that the first units will be arriving in the U.S. this summer.
