Tata Power has entered into an agreement with MG Motor India with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between both parties today. As per the terms and conditions of the MoU, Tata Power will deploy 50KW DC superfast chargers at select dealerships of MG Motors India across the country and offer end-to-end electric vehicle charging solutions.

Tata and MG has assured that these chargers will be available for use by both owners of the MG ZS EV and for other EV owners. This is on condition that the electric vehicles are compatible with CCS/CHAdeMO charging standards.

Tata Power has also set up an EV charging network at over 180 point in 19 cities under the EZ Charge brand with a digital platform to enable a smoother and better customer experience.

Through this alliance, Tata Power and MG Motor India expect to involve core values and an operating model according to their existing customer centric approach with the possibility of 2nd lift management of electric vehicle batteries. Tata Group has also announced investment into expanding their network of smart EV charging points from a current 170 to 700 point by FY21 under the brand name of Tata Power EZ Charge.
