BS6 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 FI at dealer
Bajaj Pulsar NS200 BS6 with FI has been finally launched in India. Bookings have opened at authorized dealers.
Bajaj Auto plans to start deliveries of the updated BS6-compliant version of the popular Pulsar NS200 in a few days’ time. Now, certain dealerships across the country have started accepting bookings for the same for a token amount of Rs 5,000. BS6 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 FI is priced from Rs 1.24 lakhs. This is about Rs 11,000 more than the BS4 ex-showroom price, that roughly starts at around Rs 1.13 lakh. The extra cost mainly accounts for the addition of a fuel-injection system.
In its present BS4 format, the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 makes around 23.2bhp and 18.3Nm of torque from its air/oil-cooled carburetted 199cc single-cylinder engine. The addition of an FI system might bump the figures to 24.2bhp and 18.6Nm since the Columbian-spec NS200 already features a fuel-injection system. However, to comply with stringent BS6 emission norms, the exhaust system of the upcoming Indian-spec NS200 range could be significantly restrictive. In other words, the engine could be a bit ‘choked’ and the output might even be slightly lesser than the BS4 units; like the usual case of updating to BS6 emission norms.

Besides the small updates to the power plant in a bid to make it cleaner, the 2020 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 BS6 does not sport any major changes. New colour schemes could be obvious, but a few examples of the upcoming BS6 200NS were spotted in various dealerships across the country in existing paint shades such as the White/Grey and Red/Black.
Owing to the addition of the FI system, the updated NS200 could be a bit more refined and maybe even better on fuel economy as well. It is hard to argue with the fact that the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 has a lot of fans across the country and hence, Bajaj Auto will not make any compromise on its desirability.
The 200cc motorcycle segment in the Indian automotive market has got a lot of desirable products since the category acts as a bridge between commuters and sports motorcycles. The Bajaj Pulsar NS200, which is essentially a sports commuter, primarily rivals the likes of the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, Yamaha FZ25 and Suzuki Gixxer 250.
