Bajaj Pulsar, Avenger, Dominar, Platina, CT – May 2020 Sales Decline

Bajaj Auto Limited has revealed their sales figures for May 2020. The company reported total sales of 1,27,128 units in May 2020 down 70 percent as against 4,19,235 units sold in the same month of the previous year. Exports in the past month also dipped 53 percent to 87,054 units as against 1,83,411 units exported in May 2019 while when taking only domestic sales into account, sales fell to 40,074 units in the past month as compared to 2,35,824 units sold in May 2019.

Even prior to the COVID-19 pandemic hitting the country, automobile sales in India were in a downward trend. From March 25, 2020, ever since the Government of India announced a nationwide lockdown, this situation got even worse as sales came to a complete halt.

Though now, most automakers have commenced production and sales, the entire system is in turmoil as plants and dealerships are operating with limited workforce while there are also supply constraints which have yet to fall into place.
