    JSW MG Motor have gotten themselves deeper into the electric vehicle pond. The company just launched their third electric car in India in the form of Windsor EV. JSW MG Motor has devised an innovative BaaS (Battery as a Service) Program allowing exceptionally affordable pricing for what is being offered. With BaaS, Windsor EV starts from a jaw-dropping Rs 9.99 lakh (Ex-sh) with Rs 3.5 rental to be paid for every kilometre clocked.
    Even without BaaS, the pricing is out of this world, starting at Rs 13.5 lakh (Ex-sh). With precious lessons learned from selling ZS EV and Comet EV in India, has MG Motor finally cracked the code to make EVs more mainstream in India? Is Windsor EV the flagbearer to this new revolution? Here’s what we think about MG Windsor EV after driving it around Delhi NCR as part of a national media drive hosted by JSW MG Motor.

    MG Windsor EV First Drive Review
    Currently, 35% of MG’s sales are from electric cars. The company is confident that the future of mobility is electric. To fortify its EV portfolio, MG launched its 3rd and most interesting electric offering in India, Windsor EV. Among the sea of compact SUVs in the 4.3m length segment, MG calls their new offering, a CUV (Crossover Utility Vehicle). Windsor EV’s design is a breath of fresh air.
    Windsor EV Design
    It has the general appeal of a large hatchback with crossover elements. However, it looks much larger than other 4.3m SUVs in the same size bracket. Windsor EV claims to combine luxury of a sedan with versatility of an SUV. After driving it in Gurgaon and Delhi NCR region, we can confidently say MG is successful in meeting that objective.
    MG Windsor EV
    Starting with design, MG Windsor sports clean lines and an overall curvy and swoopy appeal for aerodynamic efficiency. Front fascia gets a small bonnet, Starstreak connected LED DRLs, an illuminated MG logo, and LED projector headlights, among other highlights. Lower bumper features a large air dam with a mesh-like pattern and a chrome-finished faux skid plate. While there is a place for a radar module for ADAS, this feature isn’t available on India-spec model.
    Windsor EV Fascia
    From the side, Windsor EV has a sleek and aerodynamic shape. MG calls it Aeroglide design. Helping the overall aerodynamic performance, Windsor gets flush door handles. Good thing about these door handles is that they pop out automatically, making it a one-step procedure to open the door. Large 18-inch alloys are aerodynamic in shape too and they get Blue highlights to show its eco credentials.

    Main highlight at the side is its expansive window area, thanks to a best-in-class wheelbase of 2700mm. Charging port is positioned at the left front quarter panel, which could have been at the front, below an illuminated logo. From the rear, design remains minimal. To be honest, rear design is not Windsor EV’s forte. Highlight elements here are Smartflow LED connected tail lights, a glass antenna along with MG logo and Windsor badging.

    MG hasn’t shied away from giving their best. Windsor EV has some of the best paint finishes you can find in 4.3 m-sized vehicles. Speaking of, there are 4 colours on offer – Turquoise Green, Starburst Black, Pearl White and City Beige. MG had provided Rushlane with Turquoise Green shade and it also had quite a log of accessories attached to it as well. Prominent among them are side moulding, wheel arch cladding, and the garnish on the headlights, tail lights, corner protectors and roof rails.

    Best-in-class Interiors
    That’s a bold statement to start with, but is true nonetheless. MG Windsor EV greets you with a spacious and futuristic cabin designed for both comfort and technology. Not just that, it also sports high-quality materials and an impressive fit and finish. The all-black interior is complemented by a faux wood finish and soft-touch plastics on the dashboard. Adding to the premium interiors are these Royal Gold highlights.

    The largest-in-segment 15.6-inch Grandview touch infotainment display takes centre stage and it gets 5 customizable themes. Many of the car’s core functions are integrated into this display, which we wished was not the case. More on it later. Below this display, there are physical climate controls, which seem to be India-specific. The stylish 2-spoke steering wheel is upholstered in premium black leatherette and gets both tilt and telescopic adjustments.

    Both front seats are ventilated, while only the driver seat has a 6-way power adjustment. There is a centre armrest with a large storage area. Because the gear selector is in the steering column, the centre console is riddled with storage compartments. There is a wireless charger as well. Under this is another storage area where you can find some charging ports. Both driver and front passenger sunblinds come with vanity mirrors as well as LED lights. Cruise control, 9 speaker audio system by Infinity and 1st in segment 256 colour ambient light are note-worthy features.
    Windsor EV 360-camera
    Establishing a tech-savvy approach, Windsor EV gets i-SMART telematics system, offering over 80 connected features and voice commands in 6 languages (add supers of languages – Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujrati, English, Hindi). And to top it off, you can also control key car functions remotely with its Home-to-Car functionality. Because the car has all four one-touch up/down windows, MG has also integrated it into the lock button on its key. When locked, all windows go up. Also, the car locks and unlocks with key proximity and flush door handles pop out to welcome you.
    MG Windsor EV Front Seats
    Rear seat passengers are pampered with best-in-class legroom with adequate headroom. Further adding to space and comfort are flat floor, centre armrest and rear AC vents. One of the standout features of Windsor EV is the first-in-segment Aero Lounge seats with an insane 135-degree recline, providing a Business-Class experience. The cushioning offered on all seats is really nice. Under thigh support is slightly lacking for tall passengers, but these seats might very well be the best in any 4.3m size vehicle sold in India.
    Windsor EV Front & Rear Seat Space
    One can’t miss the Infinity View glass roof, flooding the interior with natural light and giving this cabin an open, airy ambience. The flip side of this glass roof is that on a hot day, the cabin will take longer to cool. It gets a sun blind that can be granularly adjusted from the infotainment screen. Speaking of, some of the core vehicle controls like opening/closing of sunroof shade, settings for headlight, audio, regen, trip computer, ventilated seats, etc are via this touchscreen.

    So, if this touchscreen stops responding, users are deprived of these functions. During our drive, this touchscreen froze for a brief period. But started working on its own after some time.
    Windsor EV Boot Space
    Boot space is best in class at 604 litres. For added boot space you can fold rear seats, which come with 60-40 split. Under the boot, is where you will find a charging cable and tyre inflator. In our testing, we managed to fit a lot of luggage and Windsor EV took everything like a champ. One has to be mindful of the 135-degree recline as it hampers some of the boot’s luggage-carrying capacity.

    Performance and Dynamics
    MG Windsor EV comes equipped with a sole 38 kWh battery pack, powering a single electric motor with 136 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque, powering the front wheels. MG claims an ARAI-certified range of 332 km on a single charge. Charging can be done from both AC and DC power. Windsor EV takes 13.8h to charge from 0-100% SOC from a 3.4 kW AC charger and 6.4h with a 7.4 kW AC charger. The charging time is significantly reduced to 55m for 0-80% SOC if you can find a 50 kW DC charger.

    Driving Windsor EV around Delhi NCR, we were quite impressed with the car’s overall performance. There are 4 driving modes on MG Windsor EV – Eco+, Eco, Normal and Sports. Each mode has an impact on the total range indicated on the trip computer. While Eco+ mode feels very dull, all the performance of Windsor EV can be exploited in Sports Mode. The difference between modes is easily visible too.

    We reset the trip computer for the duration of our testing. In our testing, the range we eked out of Windsor EV was less than 331 km. We received the car from MG Motor with 100% SOC and 716 km on odometer with a projected range of 319 km displayed on the instrument cluster in Normal mode. At the end of our testing, we clocked 130 km on the trip computer with 35% charge left in the battery.
    Windsor EV Range Test
    We used 65% of the battery to drive 130 km in regular driving conditions including driving in the city and on the expressway. At this point, the estimated range indicated by the car was 110 km, in Normal mode, which is a little optimistic. So, Windsor EV used 24.7 kWh of energy (65% of 38 kWh battery) to drive 130 km in Normal mode. We had set regen in the mid-setting for a decent balance between coasting and energy recuperation.

    Calculating mileage (efficiency) of Windsor EV, we got 5.26 km/kWh. Multiplying it with the car’s total battery capacity (38 kWh), we got 200 km of range in realistic conditions when the car is mostly driven in Normal mode and occasionally Eco+ and Sports modes. The AC was on for normal temperatures. If driven entirely in the city at moderate speeds, we would reckon MG Windsor will yield around 7 km/kWh of mileage. Say, 250-270 km on a single charge. Not bad at all.
    Windsor EV Charger Options
    Windsor EV’s dynamics are very sorted. Car handles decently well for its size and is neutral across varied speeds. We didn’t face any unexpected steering characteristics from the car and our overall experience stayed positive throughout the testing span of 130 km. Directional changes do not require a lot of steering effort and the car’s suspension ensures stable movements across varied conditions. Disc brakes at all four corners ensured a sure-footed feeling. Because of regen, there is a slight vagueness at the beginning of the brake pedal travel. But actual braking power is there and is par for the segment.

    Speaking of suspension, we felt that it was slightly on the firmer side. That explains Windsor’s positive dynamics. However, the car doesn’t feel very robust on Indian roads. Bad patches, speed breakers and even rumble strips filter through the suspension and induce vertical movement in the cabin. This effect is not sports-car-like, but the suspension could have better absorption.
    Windsor EV 135-degrees Recline
    During the presentation of MG Windsor EV, there was a band performing beside the car I was seated in. And I only realised how loud the band actually was after I opened the door. Windsor EV does an excellent job in isolating outside noises and even when driving, there was very little wind noise, tyre noise and other ambient sounds entering the cabin. Definitely exceeds the isolation seen in 4.3m to 4.5m long vehicles sold in India.

    Talking about safety, MG Windsor gets 6 airbags as standard. To further enhance safety, the Windsor EV includes advanced features like ABS, ESP, Hill-start Assist and Hill Descent Control. You also get 360-degree surround view cameras and rear parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights, and an auto-dimming inside rearview mirror. Unlike globally sold Wuling Cloud EV, India-spec MG Windsor EV doesn’t get ADAS. At least, not yet.
    Conclusion
    Considering Windsor EV’s features, performance, comfort and attractive pricing, it presents a solid value proposition for anyone looking to make the shift to electric mobility in India. Thanks to BaaS (Battery as a Service) Program, MG has made electric vehicles affordable for general consensus. A strategy that other EV manufacturers might consider to keep up with MG’s aggressive pricing strategies.
    MG Windsor EV Charging Port
    For added peace of mind, MG is offering an unlimited kilometre warranty and buyback plans. Even the public charging stations via MG eHUB are free of cost for Windsor EV buyers for the 1st year. Except for the infotainment screen freezing and depriving us of a few core vehicle functions, we think there are very few negatives with MG Windsor EV. Sure, we would have also liked ADAS suite and the larger 50.6 kWh battery option, allowing for a claimed 460 km of range.
    Windsor EV Warranty
    When we bring price of Windsor EV (with and without BaaS) into the equation, most of the negatives fade away. We liked how unique it looks and we loved the interiors and its expansive space. An electric vehicle or BaaS does not fit into my unpredictable driving needs. That said, for majority of electric car buyers who primarily drive in the city, JSW MG’s electric portfolio with BaaS makes more sense than what rival brands are offering.

    Hyundai’s highly anticipated Creta EV has been spotted testing in Hyderabad, adding to the growing excitement around the SUV’s upcoming launch. These latest spy shots provide a glimpse into the design and aerodynamic improvements of the electric version of Hyundai’s best-selling SUV. Expected to launch either later this year or in early 2025, the Creta EV aims to set a new standard in the compact electric SUV segment.
    Hyundai Creta EV – Core Design and Aero Optimizations
    While heavily camouflaged, the overall profile of the Creta EV remains consistent with its ICE counterpart. The EV-specific design elements are expected to include a front-mounted charging port and newly designed aero alloy wheels. These wheels, in particular, are critical for reducing the SUV’s drag coefficient, enhancing its range while also providing a visually distinct appeal. The rear of the Creta EV is likely to feature connected LED tail lamps, adding to the futuristic design.

    The test mules spied in Hyderabad sport significant camouflage, but the core body structure remains true to the Creta’s signature SUV stance. The front and rear lighting elements are mostly obscured, but the horizontal LED positioning lamps and sequential turn indicators could be seen peeking through the camo. Additionally, the bonnet maintains a chiselled design, reinforcing the sporty appeal of the Creta.
    The spy shots also hint at Hyundai’s approach of carrying forward much of the facelifted ICE Creta’s design cues into the EV version. The front fascia is expected to feature EV-specific touches to distinguish it from the petrol and diesel variants. Latest spy shots are credited to automotive enthusiast Nizam.

    Interiors and Technology
    While interior shots were not available in this batch of spy images, the Creta EV is expected to borrow several high-tech features from Hyundai’s other EV models, including the Ioniq 5. Speculated features include a 4-dot steering wheel, dual-screen infotainment and instrument cluster, voice-enabled panoramic sunroof, and front ventilated seats. Additionally, the Creta EV is likely to come with ADAS technology, as seen in earlier spy shots with a radar module mounted on the bumper.

    Performance Expectations
    The Hyundai Creta EV is expected to feature a 45-kWh battery pack, with an estimated range of around 450 km on a single charge. The electric motor could deliver around 138 hp and 255 Nm of torque, which aligns with the performance specs of Hyundai’s current EVs like the new-gen Kona. Creta EV will also feature an advanced regenerative braking system, contributing to improved range and efficiency.
    With the Creta EV expected to hit Indian roads soon, Hyundai is poised to take on competitors in the EV market, such as the Tata Curvv and MG Windsor. It will also rival upcoming e-SUVs like Mahindra BE.05, and Maruti eVX. Hyundai’s decision to build the Creta EV on the same platform as the ICE Creta could help the automaker maintain competitive pricing, making it a viable choice for EV buyers looking for range, performance, and brand reliability.     The iconic motorcycle manufacturing brand, Triumph Motorcycles, has been actively widening the horizon of its affordable lineup. Just recently, Triumph launched its most affordable offering yet, in the form of Speed T4. Bajaj-Triumph duo has been sharpening its product offensive against Royal Enfield for some time.
    Updated MY25 Speed 400 will rival the Guerrilla 450, Speed T4 will rival the just updated Royal Enfield Classic 350. While the obvious rival is Classic 350, there are many changes in Speed T4 when compared to MY25 Speed 400. Let’s look at everything new and different with Speed T4 compared to the updated MY25 Speed 400.
    Triumph Speed T4 Vs Speed 400 MY25
    Triumph Speed T4 Vs Speed 400
    There are major changes in the powertrain and exhaust to set up a unique new motorcycle with Speed T4 from a Speed 400. For starters, both Triumph Speed T4 and Speed 400 share the same basic powertrain. In this sense, they both get the same 398cc DOHC 4V single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine.
    However, Triumph has worked on this 400cc engine to carve out two different flavours. On Speed T4, Triumph has replaced the electronic throttle control system of Speed 400 with a manual one. Speed T4 also comes with a lower state of tune generating 30.6 bhp of peak power at 7,000 RPM and 36 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 RPM.

    MY25 Speed 400 continues with the previous tune of 40 bhp at 8,000 RPM and 37.5 Nm at 6,500 RPM. Both vehicles get a 6-speed gearbox, but the final drive of Speed T4 gets a O Ring chain, while Speed 400 gets an X Ring chain. Triumph has also reworked on Speed T4’s exhaust note to make it more bassy.
    Other than powertrain changes, there are changes in dimensions and componentry as well. Starting with dimensions, Speed T4 is slightly wider with handlebars at 827 mm and taller without ORVMs at 1098 mm as opposed to 814 mm and 1084 mm of Speed 400, respectively. Speed T4 also has a taller seat height of 806 mm and weighs 180 kg, 4 kg heavier than Speed 400.
    Triumph MY25 Speed 400
    Where componentry is concerned, the main noticeable difference is that Triumph Speed T4 gets 43mm RSU telescopic front forks, as opposed to the 43mm USD forks in gold finish on Speed 400. Another notable difference is that Speed T4 gets narrower 140-section tyres, while Speed 400 retains fatter and more premium 150-section tyres.
    Different riding characteristics
    With MY25 Speed 400, Triumph is offering adjustable levers, which are absent on Speed T4. Conversely, Speed T4 gets a bassier exhaust that Speed 400 misses out on. Other features and lighting setups are shared between both bikes. With Speed T4, one can expect relaxed riding characteristics, while Speed 400 continues to be high-strung, where performance is concerned. More

    Hero Splendor once again dominated the two-wheeler segment, with 3,02,934 units sold in August 2024, up by 4.49% compared to 2,89,930 units sold in August 2023. This increase of 13,004 units helped Splendor capture a 26.25% share in the top 10 list, solidifying its position as India’s best-selling two-wheeler.

    Honda Activa retained its position as the second best-selling two-wheeler, with 2,27,458 units sold in August 2024, reflecting a 5.86% YoY growth. Activa added 12,586 units compared to 2,14,872 units sold in August 2023, securing a 19.71% share of the top 10. Honda Shine posted impressive growth, with sales rising by 31.15%. Shine sold 1,49,697 units in August 2024, an increase of 35,555 units from 1,14,142 units sold in August 2023, capturing a 12.97% share of the top 10.
    Bajaj Pulsar saw a 28.19% YoY increase in sales, with 1,16,250 units sold in August 2024, up by 25,565 units compared to 90,685 units sold in August 2023. Pulsar held a 10.07% share, underscoring its continued popularity in the sporty commuter segment. TVS Jupiter also recorded strong growth, with a 27.49% YoY increase. Jupiter sold 89,327 units in August 2024, up by 19,262 units from 70,065 units sold in the previous year. Jupiter captured a 7.74% share of the top 10 two-wheeler list.

    Hero HF Deluxe posted a solid 15.89% YoY growth in August 2024, with sales reaching 84,607 units, up by 11,601 units compared to 73,006 units sold in August 2023. HF Deluxe accounted for 7.33% of the top 10 two-wheeler share. Suzuki Access saw a 16.37% growth in sales, with 62,433 units sold in August 2024. This represents an increase of 8,782 units compared to 53,651 units sold in August 2023, giving Access a 5.41% share.

    TVS XL and Bajaj Platina Show Positive Growth
    TVS XL, a consistent performer in the rural market, registered a 22.06% growth, with 44,546 units sold in August 2024, an increase of 8,051 units compared to 36,495 units sold in August 2023. TVS XL accounted for 3.86% of the top 10 two-wheeler market.
    Bajaj Platina saw a more modest 3.00% growth, with sales rising to 41,915 units in August 2024, up by 1,222 units compared to 40,693 units sold in August 2023. Platina’s share stood at 3.63%.

    2025 Honda XRE 190 ADV Debuts – Sportier Profile, New Features

    After introducing the updated versions of Sahara, Tornado and Bros adventure bikes, Honda has launched the 2025 model of XRE 190 in Brazil. The bike was originally launched in 2016 and has recorded cumulative production of over 180,000 units. 2025 Honda XRE 190 will start reaching dealerships in Brazil from October onwards.
    2025 Honda XRE 190 – What’s New?
    Changes to 2025 Honda XRE 190 are focused on improving safety, practicality and overall user satisfaction. The updates are based on Honda’s evolving design strategy as well as feedback and suggestions received from users. There are updates to the fairing, something similar that we have already seen with the newer Sahara 300, XR 300L Tornado and NXR 160 Bros.
    2025 Honda XRE 190
    Changes can also be seen across the fuel tank, side profile, seat and tail section. The stepped seat is now larger in size, with more clearly defined rider and pillion sections. Grab rails merge towards the rear to form a flat surface that can be used to install a top case. The bike gets a new exhaust tip and has aluminium footpegs for the pillion.
    There are two variants – a standard and an Adventure version. The base model has colour options of Pearlescent Red and Matte Metallic Blue. The Adventure variant gets Pearlescent Gray with exclusive graphics. 2025 Honda XRE 190 has all LED lighting for a sportier look and enhanced illumination.
    New Honda XRE 190
    The digital instrument console has been updated with a high-contrast screen. It displays a range of information such as odometer, fuel level, available range and average fuel efficiency. Another key update is a USB Type C charging port, located near the instrument panel.
    Improved suspension
    While much of the hardware specs are the same as earlier, the front forks now use wider 33 mm tubes instead of 31 mm tubes seen with the outgoing model. There are no changes to the rear suspension. While the front suspension has 180 mm of travel, the rear swingarm-linked spring shock absorber has 150 mm of travel.
    New Honda XRE 190
    The bike continues with a 19-inch spoked steel wheel at front and a 17-inch unit at rear. These are fitted with Pirelli MT60 tires. Braking setup remains unchanged at 240 mm front disc and 220 mm rear disc. Single-channel ABS is offered as standard. 2025 Honda XRE 190 has a dry weight of 126 kg. Seat height remains unchanged at 836 mm.

    The highly anticipated Royal Enfield Classic 650 has been spied fully undisguised ahead of its official launch. The spy shots, credited to Rushlane Spylane member Darren Waite, were captured outside India, likely in the UK where Royal Enfield operates its technology center.

Both wire spoke and alloy wheel options are likely to be available, maintaining the retro-modern fusion Royal Enfield is known for.
    Powertrain and Features
    The Classic 650 will be powered by a 648cc parallel-twin engine that delivers 47 PS of power and 52.3 Nm of torque. This engine is shared with Royal Enfield’s other 650cc models like the Interceptor and Continental GT. It’s expected to offer smooth gear shifts and a strong low-end performance, ideal for cruising. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, and like other RE bikes, it could have a similar exhaust note with the classic “thump.”

    After successfully aligning itself with adventure motorsport, Hero MotoCorp aims to give some of that pedigree in their consumer offerings. Hero Xpulse is getting a major powertrain upgrade with Karizma XMR’s modern tech-loaded engine. Spy shots of Xpulse 210 test mules have been spotted in Leh Ladakh. Let’s take a look.

    Hero Xpulse 210 Spied

    The updated version of this adventure tourer will get a technologically advanced powertrain from Hero MotoCorp. Thus expanding the horizon of Xpulse platform’s capabilities. After a mid-life facelift launched last year, Hero is now offering a major powertrain upgrade to their beloved Xpulse 200.

    Thanks to automotive enthusiast Chaitanya Helwatkar, who spotted a couple of Xpulse 210 test mules near Khardung La, Leh. These test mules had support vehicles with them too. All of these motorcycles had camouflage on them, concealing their identity. However, the Xpulse’s silhouette is unmistakable.

    Similar to the previous spy shots, there are very few changes to Xpulse 210’s design. It will retain the same LED tail lights and the H-shaped LED headlight might be carried over too. We can see some added elements around fuel tank, which could be tank shrouds to increase aerodynamic efficiency and touring capabilities.

    What are the changes?

    While there has been no official word from Hero MotoCorp regarding these developments, but this upcoming Xpulse is packing Karizma XMR 210’s engine. This is a 210cc, DOHC 4V liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine making 25.15 bhp of peak power and 20.4 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

    This is the most high-tech powertrain Hero MotoCorp has ever created. On Xpulse, it will unlock vastly improved touring capabilities owing to increased performance and the added 6th gear. There might be improvements with refinement and everyday rideability along with off-road capability.

    Other notable additions expected with upcoming Hero Xpulse 210 are slip and assist clutch, dual-channel ABS along with a new TFT screen for instrumentation, similar to the one we saw on Karizma XMR 210. This unit will support Bluetooth connectivity with smartphone app and turn-by-turn navigation.

    Is this Xpulse 400?

    There is a tiny possibility of this being an Xpulse 400. To be more precise, Xpulse 440, based on the same platform as Hero and Harley’s Mavrick 440 and X440. Test mules of a larger Xpulse 440 have been spotted before. However, the ones spied recently are more likely to be that of Xpulse 210.

    Hardware setup of Xpulse 210 looks similar to current Xpulse 200’s. We can expect a Pro model too, with adjustable front and rear long-travel suspension along with knobby Maxxis off-road tyres. The 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheel setup might be retained as well. There will be a slight price hike owing to the tech-loaded powertrain. More

    Royal Enfield Sales Breakup Aug 2024 – Classic, Hunter, Bullet, Meteor, 650 Twins, Shotgun

    Royal Enfield has seen a significant dip in sales in August 2024 with 65,533 units sold last month. It was a 5.56% YoY decline over 69,393 unit sales from August 2023 relating to a volume de-growth of 3,860 units. MoM sales on the other hand saw a 7.86% growth over 60,755 units sold in July 2024. Once again it was the Classic 350 that received the highest attention, sales of the 650 Twins also ended positively while the new Guerrilla has also captured a great deal of attention from buyers in the country.

    Royal Enfield Classic once again topped sales charts with 28,450 unit sales last month, an 8.93% YoY growth from 26,118 units sold in August 2023. Positive sales were also reported on a MoM basis by 33.11% over 21,373 unit sales in July 2024. Share also improved to 43.41% from 35.17% MoM. The new RE Classic 350 has made its debut. It comes in with new colour options, feature upgrades and cosmetic enhancements even as it sees no change in its mechanics.
    Royal Enfield Sales Breakup Aug 2024 – YoY Performance
    At No. 2 was the RE Hunter 350 with 13,481 unit sales last month. This was a steep decline of 4.80% YoY and 4.33% MoM from 14,616 units and 14.091 units sold in August 2023 and July 2024 respectively. Despite this decline, the Hunter holds a significant 20.57% share in the company’s domestic market.
    RE Bullet and Meteor 350 followed in quick succession with 8,660 units and 6,785 units in terms of sales. Both these models suffered both YoY and MoM decline. This could be due to the fact that Royal Enfield plans to introduce new Bullet 350 and Meteor 350 following launch of the Classic 350 Facelift.
    Royal Enfield Sales Breakup Aug 2024 – MoM Performance
    Overwhelming demand was seen for the RE 650 Twins, Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. Sales improved by 370.18% on a YoY basis to 2,586 units, up from 550 units sold in August 2023. MoM sales also surged 21.29% from 2,132 units sold in July 2024.
    RE Guerrilla 450 Scores over Himalayan and Super Meteor
    The new RE Guerrilla 450, launched in India in July 2024 and based on the Sherpa 450 engine platform, has seen immediate and positive response. Sales stood at 2,205 units in August 2024, a 50.10% MoM growth from 1,469 units sold in July 2024. Share in the company’s lineup also improved from 2.42% to 3.36% MoM.
    RE Himalayan sales fell drastically. Sales dipped 47.90% YoY to 2,009 units in the past month from 3,856 units sold in August 2023. MoM sales performance also ended in the red by 27.45% over 2,769 units sold in July 2024.
    Lower down the sales order, Super Meteor and Shotgun 650 also suffered from lower demand. Meteor sales fell by 5.71% to 1,041 units while there were 316 units of the relatively new Shotgun 650 sold last month. On a MoM basis, both these models also saw lower sales by 2.80% and 30.24% respectively. More
