In November 2024, Royal Enfield sold a total of 68,448 units of 350cc to 450cc motorcycles, dominating the sales charts
The 350cc to 450cc motorcycle segment is an important one as it encompasses premium and enthusiastic products that buyers crave. Royal Enfield emerges as the best-seller in this segment with 68,448 units sold, while it was 4,148 units for Jawa & Yezdi, 3,088 units for Honda, 2,240 units for Triumph, 860 units for Bajaj, 421 units for Hero & Harley, 303 units for KTM & Husqvarna, 190 units for Aprilia and 42 units for Kawasaki.
350cc To 450cc Motorcycle Sales Nov 2024
Topping the sales charts of this segment, we have Royal Enfield Classic 350 which registered 27,514 units in sales along with a 9.09% YoY and 28.16% MoM decline as opposed to 30,264 and 38,297 units sold in November 2023 and October 2024 respectively. Volume loss was 2,750 units YoY and 10,783 units MoM. Classic 350 held a 34.5% market share in this segment.
Bullet 350 and Hunter 350 sales fell close to each other at 16,193 and 15,229 units respectively. While Bullet saw a 7.2% YoY and a 28% MoM decline in sales, Hunter 350 saw a 7.43% YoY growth and a 28.67% MoM decline. Among the 350s from RE, Meteor 350 registered the highest sales decline of 10.81% YoY and 35.52% MoM with 7,181 units sold.
After the Royal Enfields, Jawa Yezdi has emerged as a best-seller in this segment, sidelining rivals with 4,148 units sold last month. Classic Legends witnessed 25.09% YoY growth and a negligible 0.77% MoM decline. In 6th place, we have Triumph’s 400 lineup (Speed T4, Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X) with 2,240 units sold and witnessed sales drop by 15.82% YoY and 44.07% MoM.
Honda sold 3,088 350cc Bikes
Together, Honda sold 3,088 350cc bikes last month. Breaking that number, we get 1,836 units of H’Ness 350 with a 25.55% YoY and a 33.74% MoM decline and 1,252 units of CB 350 with a 31.88% MoM decline. Between the two Honda bikes, we have Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 with 1,534 units sold and it saw a 15.44% YoY and a 30.24% MoM decline when compared to 1,814 units sold last year and 2,199 units sold a month before.
The Roadster counterpart of Himalayan 450, the Guerrilla 450, managed to sell 797 units with sales halved MoM at a 49.68% decline. India’s most affordable 400cc high-performance bike, Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z, managed to sell 582 units but sales more than halved at a 55.98% MoM decline. In comparison, Dominar 400 sold 278 units and saw a 27.03% YoY and a 43.61% MoM decline.
4.81% YoY and 30.65% MoM decline for this segment
The Hero and Harley duo sold 421 units of their jointly developed 440 motorcycles. X440 sold 387 units witnessing a massive 82.08% YoY and 82.41% MoM decline. Whereas Mavrick 440 sold just 34 units with an 82.65% MoM decline. KTM Husqvarna’s sales in this segment stood at 290 units of KTM 390 bikes and 13 units of Husqvarna Svartpilen bikes. Both registered significant YoY and MoM decline in numbers.
Aprilia sold 190 units of RS 457, but saw a 45.87% MoM decline when compared to 351 units sold a month before. Kawasaki was the only one that registered positive growth in both YoY and MoM aspects. However, the sample sizes were quite low with 42 units sold and 40% YoY and 500% MoM growth. In total, the 350cc to 450cc motorcycle sales Nov 2024 charts contributed to 79,740 units along with 4.81% YoY and 30.65% MoM decline, losing 4,030 units YoY and 35,239 units MoM in volume.
