There is a good probability of this new bike from Hero MotoCorp being powered by the new 421cc engine with around 40 bhp and 40 Nm
While Hero MotoCorp is primarily known for budget commuter motorcycles, the company is taking great strides in premium segment. At EICMA 2024, Hero MotoCorp showcased Karizma XMR 250, Xtreme 250R and Xpulse 210.
Recently, Hero patented the design of Xpulse 421 in India which was instantly recognisable as the company had showcased design sketches of it at EICMA 2024. Now, a new Hero MotoCorp patent has leaked online, showing a completely new and unique offering that is very premium. Begs the question, is this Karizma 421? Let’s take a closer look.
Karizma 421 Design Patented?
At EICMA 2024, Hero MotoCorp showcased 4 new products on stage. These include Karizma XMR 250, Xtreme 250R, Xpulse 210 and Vida Z electric scooter. Also, Hero showcased a sportier version of Karizma XMR 210 with more premium components like USD forks and a similar treatment was given to Mavrick 440.
However, the new design patent from Hero doesn’t fall in sync with any of their current motorcycles. Heck, it doesn’t even fall into any of the genres that Hero currently offers. This is a semi-faired motorcycle similar to the sports-cruiser genre that Gen 1 Karizma used to be. We can see a tall handlebar lending an upright riding stance on this bike.
Even the front windshield is positioned up-right to support this revised riding stance. These are starkly opposite to the fully-faired Karizma XMR 210 which falls in supersport genre with slip-on handlebars and a sleeker windshield. Even the exhaust design is slightly different than Karizma’s and this new motorcycle has USD forks at the front and single disc brake setup at both ends.
Hero Patents New Motorcycle
The company seems to be carving out a new version of Karizma based on the current model, but without an XMR tag. Historically, Hero has offered a semi-faired Karizma and a fully-faired Karizma ZMR. Where the new 210cc Karizma is concerned, we only got a fully-faired Karizma XMR and this new bike patented by Hero could be a semi-faired Karizma without XMR tag.
But the new design is of a much more premium offering than any of Hero bikes ever launched. Suggesting a bigger engine. Potentially the upcoming 421cc engine, debuting with Xpulse 421. These premium components include a hose-mounted knob to adjust rear suspension, similar to what we see in expensive big bikes. Also, there is a sophisticated single-seat rear cowl that screams sporty.
Another possibility is that the new motorcycle patented by Hero MotoCorp is a concept of a Karizma Sports-Tourer that will be showcased at Auto Expo 2025 or Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. The company has not divulged any details about this motorcycle yet.
