The top 10 motorcycles sold in June 2020 collectively contributed 6,12,531 units in sales compared to 8,79,123 units back in June 2019
As India’s automotive industry makes a slow recovery from COVID-19 pandemic and its lockdown protocols, monthly sales charts are witnessing higher numbers. However, the figures are much lesser than pre-COVID trends. Globally, automotive businesses have started working at nearly their full potential in a safe, sanitised and socially distanced environment.
Several automakers have opened online sales platforms to boost sales amid these difficult times. Important events such as auto shows, launches, unveils and media drive/ride have been either cancelled or postponed depending on guidelines issued by local health authorities. On the other hand, deliveries and test drives are conducted following all safety measures.
The new ‘online showrooms’ mentioned above have gained substantial popularity in the past few months thanks to the level of convenience offered. Furthermore, they do not affect the business of existing dealerships in any manner since the user would be directed to the nearest or preferred outlet at the end.
