Royal Enfield 650cc Continental GT Modified Into A Racing Machine

Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Modified by Goblin Works. Images – Bike Exif
The modified Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 gets carbon fiber panels, a bigbore kit and a lot more

With their simple mechanical and electronic architectures, the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650 have quickly established themselves as modifiers’ delight. Since their global debut we have come across numerous tastefully modified RE 650s but this one, executed by UK-based Partridge Design, is one of the sharpest we have seen.
Modified Royal Enfield Continental GT 650
Conceived and executed by Anthony Partridge who co-hosts Goblin Works Garage show on Discovery Channel, this modified Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 came with a simple brief from RE’s head of industrial design Adrian Sellers – “to build a thoroughbred racer”. That is exactly what Anthony set out to build.
The end result is a sharp looking racing equipment swathed in exotic carbon fiber elements which hardly has anything in common with the stock Continental GT 650. However, the modified bodykit is designed with the help of 3D printing technology to be able to fit a stock motorcycle quickly and easily. So, it is not just a one-off project for a TV show but it is also a commercially available kit any Conti 650 owner could purchase.
    Custom parts
Forming the centerpiece of the race bike’s styling is its carbon-fiber fuel tank which was custom made by GIA Engineering. The Racefit fuel filler cap is an art in itself. The custom swing arm was also GIA’s handwork. The custom motorcycle is suspended by premium Ohlins FGR300 inverted telescopic forks at the front and Ohlins TTX GP Pro monoshock at the rear.
Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Modified
The modified Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 boasts of Moto GP-like quick-release axles which hold BST carbon fiber wheels. The tyres are Dunlop Sportmax GPA units. Braking is taken care of by Galfer discs with nickel plated Brembo calipers, Venhill brake lines and Magura front master cylinder. Magura also supplied the racer’s hydraulic clutch system.
The motorcycle also gets a new rear sub-frame, complete with a fresh carbon fiber tailpiece. Some tweaks were made to the frame so as to accommodate wider rear wheel. Other noteworthy items on the motorcycle include Motogadget electronic elements, Rizoma clip-on handlebar, foot pegs, mirrors and turn indicators, Highsider LED headlamp, Reese Racing switch gear and Antigravity lithium-ion battery.
    The engine
Powering this modified Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 is a modified 750 cc engine with S&S Cycle bigbore kit with custom power commander, foam filter and a hand-made exhaust system. Power and torque figures are not being discussed but it is definitely well over the stock motorcycle’s hp and Nm respectively.
Partridge Design pitted its creation against the stock motorcycle on a test track under icy conditions. Not surprisingly, it was observed that the custom GT 650 was much faster, sharper and more fun to ride than what rolls off RE’s assembly line.

Honda CB350RS Scrambler Rendered In 4 New Colours – Black, Red, Yellow, Blue

    2021 Honda CB350RS Black – Render
Honda BigWing might expand this range of India-made classic motorcycles with different engine configurations in future

Honda teased the upcoming iteration of Honda H’Ness CB350. This version of CB350 will likely be called CB350RS. It is likely to be a scrambler derivative based on CB350 classic roadster. This bike is slated to be launched on February 16 and ahead of its launch, a digital rendering of the same has been created by Pratyush Rout.
This digitally rendered image of CB350RS as a scrambler gives an idea of what this upcoming bike could look like. It has been imagined in four production-spec colours of Black, Red, Yellow and Blue. A bit of the inspiration has been carried forward from the CB1100RS as well as the officially revealed teasers by the company.
    Design Highlights
Other parts of it have been curated very realistically. This includes a slimmer seat at rear for the pillion just as revealed in the teaser. Apart from this, other design highlights from this digitally imagined render include a chopped off fender at front, a horizontal tail section, engine assembly cowl and a clip-on handlebar.
Rest of the details are very similar to the current retro-styled classic roadster. Since it is expected to be a sportier version of H’Ness CB350, it is expected to feature an aggressive seating position thanks to clip-on handlebars. USD forks in the front and rear-set footpegs as shown in this rendered image.
    2021 Honda CB350RS Red – Render
In the final production model, we could expect it to receive a black treatment instead of chrome accents. Instead of a single-piece of grab rails, it gets side bolted pillion grab rails. The teasers show a new cantilevered tailpiece with a compact LED taillight and mudguard mounted license plate and indicators.
    Engine Specs & Features
Mechanically, this iteration of CB350 will be identical to its classic roadster sibling although suspension setup might be slightly tweaked for sportier performance. It will be powered by a 348cc unit single-cylinder, air-cooled unit which cranks out 21 bhp and 30 Nm of peak torque.
This unit will be mated to a 5-speed gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch. It will be built on a half-duplex cradle frame suspended on a telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers.
    2021 Honda CB350RS Yellow – Render
In terms of features as well, this bike is expected to offer the same equipment as offered in H;Ness CB350. This includes an all-LED lighting setup, a semi-digital instrument cluster, USB charging, Bluetooth connectivity, Navigation, dual-channel ABS and a first-in-segment Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC).
We expect prices of the new CB350RS roadster to hover around Rs 2.00 lakh (ex-showroom) and will exclusively be sold through the brand’s BigWing dealerships. Honda 2Wheelers India is currently looking to expand its BigWing network in the country and we expect to see an expansion of the India-made BigWing lineup of motorcycles in the near future.

2021 Hero Passion Pro New TVC – Celebrates 100 Millionth Edition

    New Hero Passion Pro
Hero Passion Pro is one of the top-selling motorcycle in the country

Hero Passion Pro is a commuter bike. It is priced from Rs. 67,608 to 69,808 in India and is presented in two variants and four colour options. In its BS6 avatar, to which it was updated earlier last year, it gets several design updates. Detailed in a new TVC, the Passion Pro appeals to buyers to ‘Chalo Apni Chaal’ and to break away from the ordinary and set new standards following their own paths.
    Hero MotoCorp 100 Millionth Unit
Earlier this month, in celebration of the production of the 100 millionth unit, Hero MotoCorp unveiled special editions. These were of Xtreme 160R, Passion Pro, Glamour, Destini 125, and Maestro Edge 110.
All these are now on sale across India. Hero MotoCorp become India’s only two wheeler brand to achieve this feat of producing 100 millionth two wheeler and this milestone model was the Hero Xtreme 160R which rolled out of its Haridwar plant.
New TVC for Passion Pro 2021
Hero Passion Pro is powered by a 110cc BS6 engine. This engine makes 9.02 hp power and 9.89 Nm torque. Though power figure drops as compared to that seen on its BS4 counterpart, there is a hike in torque. It gets drum brakes at the front and rear and combined braking system on both wheels. Weight is at 117 kgs and tank capacity of 10 liters. New TVC can be seen below.
    [embedded content]
Where styling is concerned, the BS6 Passion Pro 110 looks sportier than its earlier counterpart. It receives a black visor, 3D Hero badging and 18 inch alloy wheels. New graphics also make the bike stand apart while the Passion Pro is also offered with F1 and i3s technology.
It also gets larger and more angular headlamps with new bikini fairing, fuel tank extensions with ‘PRO’ decals and under seat panels along with a sharper tail lamp. Feature updates include a new semi digital instrument cluster offering real time fuel efficiency and other data while suspension travel is increased by 15mm for a more comfortable ride.
For even easier riding through traffic, the new Hero Passion Pro gets a feature called Auto Sail. This eliminates the need for the rider to use the clutch in traffic and prevents the bike from stalling.
    Hero MotoCorp Upcoming Products
Hero MotoCorp has revealed that the company will be launching 10 products each year over the next 5 years. These will include new models or updated variants of its existing products while the company will also pay special attention to reduce its carbon footprint with eco-friendly facilities and fuel efficient models.
The company has also set up a separate unit to sell Harley Davidson bikes in India after the US based company shut down its operations in the country. Hero has added 11 new dealerships for the Harley Davidson brand and Hero will also develop motorcycles to be sold under the Harley brand. More

Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Instrument Cluster Spied – Tripper Navigation Missing

    Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Spied
The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 employs an eccentrically placed digi-analog instrument console

A camouflaged prototype Royal Enfield Hunter with some accessories was spied up close while stationary. The test mule appears to be not fully production ready but not far from it either. The latest spy shots give us a clear idea on how the motorcycle’s instrument panel looks like.
    Royal Enfield Hunter 350
Royal Enfield is currently working on building a strong and eclectic range of 350 cc motorcycles based on its new generation J platform. The Meteor 350 which replaced the Thunderbird was the first of many new RE’s to come. While the loyalists are eagerly waiting for the next generation Classic 350, Royal Enfield threw a surprise in the form of another retro-classic Roadster.
The Eicher-owned two wheeler brand has registered Hunter as a trademark, leading us to believe that the new 350 cc roadster will carry this moniker. To be positioned alongside the new Classic 350 as a sportier alternative to lure younger audience, the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 will feature a sleek fuel tank, circular headlamp, possibly with LED elements, single-piece seat, LED taillight and a simple tailpiece.
Going by the prototype, the Hunter 350 is most likely to be equipped with alloy wheels and black finished engine and exhaust pipe. The prototype was wearing chrome finished headlamp cowl but we expect the final production version to feature a black unit.
Production version is expected to offer Tripper Navigation as well
The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 employs a unique digi analog instrument console with a rectangular MID. While this particular mule does not feature an additional dial for Tripper Navigation system (Smartphone enabled turn-by-turn navigation), it is reasonable to assume the motorcycle to be offered with it at the time of launch.
    Specifications
The Royal Enfield Hunter 350, as the spyshot shows, borrows its 349 cc air-cooled engine from the Meteor 350. Widely acclaimed for being much more refined than its predecessor, the new mill dishes out 20.2 hp and 27 Nm of torque. Gearbox is a conventional 5-speed unit.
There is nothing particularly interesting about the suspension or braking system. The roadster employs traditional telescopic front forks covered with rubber gaiters, and twin-rear shock absorbers. Like all modern Royal Enfields, the Hunter is equipped with front and rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS.
Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Instrument Cluster – Analog Speedometer, Digital MID
On board the Royal Enfield Hunter, the speedometer is analog and is seen with markings in kmph as well as mph. The speedo is listed till max speed of 160 kmph / 100 mph – just like the new Meteor 350. Other details like fuel level, trip meters, etc are expected to be listed in the digital MID.
    Market positioning
With the Royal Enfield Hunter 350, the company would be aiming to fend off fresh competition like the Honda CB350. Royal Enfield’s leadership in the Indian medium displacement segment continues to be strong even during the challenging year that was 2020.
The Classic 350 continues to be a cash cow for the brand and with the new gen model coming later this year, things are only going to get stronger. The Hunter will be playing a consolidating role.

2021 Honda Dio Scooter Launched In Japan With Remote Key

    2021 Honda Dio
Although its looks are completely different, the Japanese Dio is similar to its Indian counterpart in its engine specs

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters has launched the updated 2021 Dio in its home country. The scooter comes with a host of updates in terms of features as well as cosmetics. Even though it carries the same nomenclature, the Japanese model is in no way similar to the India-spec model.
    Design
The major difference being the headlight which is mounted on its handlebar rather than its front apron is the case with the India-spec model. Its overall design is a nice blend of sporty looks and everyday practicality. It gets a wide and flat single-piece seat which looks comfortable for both the rider and pillion.
Components such as alloy wheels, exhaust muffler, footboard and tail section have been blackened out which give a sporty appeal to the scooter. In addition, it is offered in four different colour schemes including Matt Galaxy Black Metallic, Pearl Jasmine White, Descent Silver Metallic and Matt Stary Blue Metallic. The apron of the scooter receives LED DRLs instead of a headlight unit.
    Features

The scooter can hold a bottle of 500ml which can be stored on the cubby hole placed at front. The company claims that the new Dio can easily fit a full-size helmet thanks to a large under-seat storage capacity of 18 litres. It also gets remote key feature.
However, at this price, Dio also misses out on a few features such as LED headlights and taillights, an external fuel filler cap and a USB charging port. Other than this, it looks like a fairly simple and everyday functional scooter.
    Mechanical Specs
Mechanically, this version of Dio in Japan is very similar to its Indian counterpart carrying the same name. The Japan-spec model is also powered by a 110cc engine that makes 8.7 PS of power and 9 Nm of peak torque. Its hardware consists of a suspension setup of telescopic forks at front and a side-mounted single shock absorber at rear. Anchorage duties are handled by disc brake at front and a drum brake at rear.
In Japan, Honda retails Dio in a price range of JPY 2,23,000 (approximately INR 1.54 lakh) and JPY 2,20,00 (approximately INR 1.52 lakh). The Japanese auto giant has no plans of introducing this version of Dio to India. It currently focussed on launching a cafe racer or scrambler derivative of CB350 which will be called CB350RS. More
