    Along with several feature and colour updates, the biggest change on the 2021 Bonneville Bobber is its BS6 compliant 1200cc high torque engine
    Triumph Motorcycles has updated its 2021 lineup of the Bonneville series and the Bonneville Bobber is a part of this update. The new Bobber gets enhanced features, new colour schemes and most of all an updated engine that now complies with the latest (Euro5 and BS6) emission norms worldwide.
    Triumph Bonneville Bobber is priced at Rs 11.75 lakh pan India. The Bobber is being sold in three colours of Matte Strom Grey with Matte Ironstone (Rs 12.05 lakh), Cordovan Red (Rs 11.88 lakh), and Jet Black (Rs 11.75 lakh) along with updated equipment and technology that sets it apart from its earlier counterpart.
    Features and Instrumentation
    2021 Triumph Bonneville Bobber gets blacked out elements and updated features that will allow for worldwide acceptance. These include steel fenders with a central ridge and return edge, flat bars and adjustable levers, a sculpted top yolk, rubber gaiters and a side mounted ignition barrel. It also gets blacked out bar end mirrors, LED bullet indicators and a new full LED headlamp and LED DRLs.
    Ride position is comfortable as it is adjustable with the seat being moved up and forward or down and backwards depending on rider choices. The instruments are also adjustable for better accessibility. Blacked out engine cover, cam cover and sprocket cover also enhance the looks of the new Bobber. It now sports a 12 liter fuel tank thereby resulting in 33 percent added range.

    The instrument cluster with a multi-function display unit is controlled via a handlebar mounted scroll button. It gets a new dial face with silver markings and integrated warning lights.
    The new Triumph Bobber rides on 16 inch fat wheel in the front and 47mm front fork with a wider rear wheel set up with Avon Cobra tyres that have been specially designed for the Bobber consisting of lightweight material for better manoeuvrability and best in class stability.
    Engine, Transmission and Braking
    2021 Bobber is powered by a 1200cc twin engine. This new engine offers 78 hp power at 6,100 rpm and 106 Nm torque at 4,000 rpm mated to a 6 speed gearbox. The engine complies with Euro 5 standard with lower levels of emission and higher fuel efficiency. It gets ride by wire system and two riding modes of Road and Rain and adjustable throttle response and traction control settings.
    Braking is via premium Brembo 2 piston calipers and twin discs in the front and single disc set up at the rear. ABS along with switchable traction control are also on offer for added rider’s safety. Triumph has also offered the Bobber with a longer service interval of 10,000 miles or 16,000 kms relating to a lower cost of ownership. More

    Piaggio Electric Scooter First Photos Revealed Ahead Of Global Debut

    Piaggio One Electric scooter targets a younger set of buyers and will go on sale in Europe from June this year
    The unveiling of the new Piaggio One electric scooter took place on TIK-TOK, indicating its target group as the younger audience. Its unveiling drew attention to some on board features while technical details remained hidden and could be revealed at the global debut being held on 28 May at 2021 Beijing Motor Show.

    Piaggio One is the second electric scooter from the Piaggio Group after the all-electric Vespa Elettrica, that was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo earlier last year. The new Piaggio One electric scooter is lightweight and boasts of minimal body work and borrows features from various other models from Piaggio, Aprilia and Vespa.
    It gets all LED lights with twin LED lights in the front with DRLs and LED tail lamps with turn indicators. It also receives a digital instrument cluster, keyless start system, a wide seat with sufficient under-seat storage, pull out foot pegs and a wide foot board.
    A dual paint scheme, 10 inch alloy wheels, twin shocks at the front and rear and disc brakes are also a part of its on board features. Piaggio One will also receive a full digital colour instrument display with sensors to adjust screen brightness according to light conditions.

    Though no specs are revealed, it is learnt that the Piaggio One will get two riding modes with Eco Mode for extended range and Sport Mode for more enthusiastic riders. The battery would be a removable Li-ion unit allowing for indoor charging.
    Piaggio One will be offered with varying power and torque outputs and the company has also revealed that it would contain two motor maps for changing power delivery and range.

    Set to make its official debut at the at 2021 Beijing Motor Show on 28th May, the Piaggio One is scheduled to go on sale from the end of June. Launch in India is not announced as on date as the company only retails scooters under the Vespa and Aprilia brands. Piaggio India currently sells a total of 7 scooters under the Vespa brand. These scooters are in a range of engine options of 125cc and 150cc.

    Yamaha Tracer Name Trademark Filed In India – New Sports Tourer Launch Planned?

    There have been some interesting developments from Yamaha in the past few weeks on both regional and international levels. In India, the Japanese bikemaker has registered the trademark FZ-X which will be a retro-style motorcycle based on the FZ series. In foreign markets, the company launched the entry-level XSR 125 in Europe.
    It also revealed the upcoming mid-displacement sports bike R7 in its final production-spec form which will replace the outgoing R6 from its global portfolio. In the latest development, the Japanese bike manufacturer has filed a trademark for the name ‘Tracer’ in India.

    Tracer 700 & Tracer 900
    The Tracer nameplate is used by Yamaha for its mid-displacement sports tourer range and is available in 900cc and 700cc configurations. Given the surge in popularity of adventure and sports tourers in recent years, Yamaha might be planning of bringing one such machine to India even though a local patent does not guarantee a product’s launch. The flagship Tracer 900 is even retailed in select few international markets such as Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.
    Both Tracer 700 and Tracer 900 share the same design and underpinnings and are essentially road-biased tourers. Like typically tourer motorcycles, Tracer comes with a tall stance, a semi-faired body with a large windscreen, handguards, split seats, an MT-15-like fuel tank, contrast coloured rims, a raised tail section with split grab rails and twin exhaust pipes. It is also expected to ride on alloy wheels shod by dual-purpose tyres.

    First Probability
    The first most likely probability is that Yamaha brings the flagship Tracer 900 to our shores as a fully imported CBU product. This motorcycle would be powered by an 847cc liquid-cooled, inline three-cylinder engine that pumps out 113.45 bhp at 10000 rpm and a peak torque of 87.5 Nm at 8500 rpm. This unit is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
    The tourer comes equipped with features such as a TFT instrument cluster, all LED lights, a slipper clutch, cruise control, an adjustable windscreen and three-step traction control. If launched in India, this iteration of Tracer would compete against the likes of Ducati Multistrada 950 S and Triumph Tiger 850 Sport/900.
    Second Probability
    The other possibility is Yamaha introduce a sub-400cc entry-level tourer and brand it as Tracer. In this case, the 250cc motor from FZ25 and MT-25 would be an ideal choice for a powertrain.
    This motor is capable of generating an output of 20.5 bhp at 8,000rpm and 20.1 Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. This unit is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. If this version gets a nod, it will lock its horns with other entry-level adventure tourers such as Royal Enfield Himalayan, KTM 250 Adventure, 390 Adventure, BMW 310 GS and Hero Xpulse 200. More

    TVS Sales, Exports Breakup April 2021 – Apache, Jupiter, Ntorq, iQube, XL100

    A year-on-year comparison is not possible due to zero sales reported in April 2020 because of the lockdown imposed by the Government of India in view of the Coronavirus pandemic which struck the country in March 2020. Hence, here we compare MoM sales and exports of TVS Motor Company that has seen de-growth on both counts.
    Domestic Sales – TVS Motor
    Total two wheeler sales sold in domestic markets in April 21 stood at 1,30,981 units, down 35.21 percent over 2,02,155 units sold in March 21. Of the TVS Motor lineup, it was only the Pep+ scooter that posted marginal MoM growth of 2.89 percent while every other model suffered from poor sales.
    TVS Apache, XL and Jupiter were at the top of the domestic sales charts with sales above the 25,000 unit mark. Apache sales dipped 11.17 percent to 29,458 units in April 21, down from 33,162 units sold in March 21. Despite de-growth, the TVS Apache was at No.6 among the best-selling motorcycles in India in April 21.
    TVS XL100 sales on the other hand suffered a 41.87 percent de-growth from 44,688 units sold in March 21 to 25,977 units sold in the past month. Jupiter sales suffered the highest MoM de-growth in the company lineup at 55.30 percent to 25,570 units sold in April 21, down from 57,206 units sold in March 21. However, while assessing the best-selling scooters in the country, TVS Jupiter was at No.2 in April 21.

    TVS Pep+ sales were the only silver lining in the company lineup. Sales increased 289 percent to 8,143 units in April 21, up from 7,914 units sold in March 21. The Pep+ is regaled for its lighter weight, novel features and affordable pricing. TVS Motor reported de-growth in terms of Sport, Radeon Zest, StarCity and iQube along with that of the RR310.

    TVS Motor Company had seen its highest ever monthly exports in March 2021, crossing the 1 lakh unit mark. However, the company reported a 9.68 percent de-growth in terms of two wheeler exports in April 21 as March exports which had stood at 1,05,282 units dipped to 95,087 units in the past month.
    The Apache, NTorq, XL, Victor, RR310 and Jupiter posted positive growth while Star City 125, Star City, Sport, Radeon and Wego saw its exports numbers dip MoM. Below is a detailed breakup of TVS two wheeler exports for April 2021.

    The company has also noted that its popular NTorq 125 has cross the 1 lakh unit mark in terms of exports. The NTorq was launched in 2018 and was the first Bluetooth connected scooter in the country with TVS SmartXonnect.
    NTorq exports in April 21 increased 5.08 percent to 6,498 units, up from 6,184 units exported in March 21. The highest percentage growth in terms of exports was seen in the case of the TVS RR310 which increased 308.11 percent to 151 units in April 21 as against 37 units shipped in March 21. More

    Royal Enfield Scram Motorcycle Name Registered – New 650cc Scrambler?

    Success of 650 twins has given Royal Enfield confidence to test new products in this space
    The 650 twins will soon have more members in the family including a roadster and a cruiser. The latest trademark filing reveals that a 650cc scrambler could also be in the works. The name registered is Royal Enfield Scram, which hints towards a scrambler model. As of now, the status of the trademark registration shows up as ‘Formalities Chk Pass’.

    Test mules of Royal Enfield 650cc scrambler are yet to be sighted. To get an idea about its design, we can probably look at some of the modification projects done in the past. There are not one, but several such projects wherein Interceptor 650 has been modified into a scrambler.
    Most of these customizations and digital renderings have received rave reviews from enthusiasts. It may be among the reasons that may have motivated Royal Enfield to start work on the 650cc scrambler project.
    Here’s a good example that can provide clues about how Royal Enfield 650cc scrambler could look like. Some of the key features of 650cc scrambler could include round headlamp, minimal bodywork, higher ground clearance, upswept exhaust, spoke wheels, and dual purpose tyres.

    To reduce development costs, all Royal Enfield 650cc motorcycles will be using the same platform as that of 650 twins. The platform has received wide appreciation for its superior handling and control. Powering 650cc scrambler will be the 648cc air/oil-cooled, parallel twin motor that is capable of generating 47 hp of max power at 7150 rpm and 52 Nm of max torque at 5250 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox.
    The 650cc platform utilizes a tubular steel frame with bolted trussing. It has standard front forks and twin shocks at the rear. Braking duties are performed by 320mm disc at the front and 240mm disc at the rear. Dual-channel ABS is offered as standard.
    As may be recalled, Royal Enfield has initiated a major product offensive. Around 28 new/next-gen products will be launched by 2027. The company currently leads in 350cc segment with more than ninety percent market share. New products will allow Royal Enfield to keep its portfolio refreshed at all times and keep rivals in check.
    The 650cc segment also has limited number of products. With the 650cc roadster, cruiser and scrambler, Royal Enfield can cement its position in this space. More

    2022 KTM RC 390 Side View Revealed Via Undisguised Spy Shot

    It has been a couple of months, since the spy shots of new gen KTM RC and Duke range have started appearing on the internet. Of the two, it is the RC range which will be upgraded first, while the Duke range update is expected sometime next year.
    Global debut of the new gen KTM RC 125, 200 and 390 is expected later this year. Ahead of that, thanks to leaked spy shots via test mules as well as via from company plant, reveals the design language of the updated KTM RC range in quite detail.
    Latest spy shot – 2022 RC 390
    The RC 390 is essentially the faired version of the 390 Duke naked sports motorcycle. Even though the 390 Duke model available in India is updated to the brand’s global specifications, the RC 390 still lags behind a bit especially in terms of equipment such as the TFT instrument console.
    The RC 390 test mule you see here, looks like a production ready variant. The image is credit to automotive enthusiast Albin Antony, who has posted the spy shot in Rushlane Spylane. It is also to be noted here that KTM has removed the current RC390 from their official website – indicating launch could be around the corner.
    2021 KTM RC 125 / RC 200
    Overall design of the new RC range is similar, as it is today. Expect the differences to be in the form of decals and colour options. Other difference one can note, is the presence of underbelly exhaust in the 125 and 200 range while the 390 range gets conventional exhaust, quite similar to the Duke 390.
    Changes expected are updated chassis, new alloys, reworked suspension in the front as well as the rear, bigger disc brakes, new ECU, improved cooling system. Also on offer will be a digital instrument cluster from the Duke range.
    Engine specs
    In its current BS6 format, the KTM RC 390 makes 43bhp and 35Nm of torque from its liquid-cooled 373.2cc single-cylinder engine, mated to a 6-speed transmission via a slipper clutch. The same engine is expected to continue in the new gen version. Once launched, it will continue to rival the likes of the TVS Apache RR 310.
    Thanks to the updates, price of new gen KTM RC 390 is expected to get a significant increase. Even then, it will continue to offer a decent value for money package in the price segment. More

    2021 MV Agusta Rush Debuts With 998cc 4 Cyl 205 BHP Engine

    Whenever one thinks of fast and exotic motorcycles, the name MV Agusta is bound to come up. The iconic Italian brand has added, or should we say updated, yet another one in its armoury. The company has revealed the latest iteration of the naked litre-class motorcycle with the mandatory Euro-5 emission upgrades and a few subtle cosmetic upgrades.
    The motorcycle remains a limited edition model and will be capped to a meagre 300 units available for sale across the globe. Pre-bookings for the hypernaked motorcycle commenced in July last year while deliveries are expected to begin soon. MV Agusta models are known for their outrageous and striking designs and Rush is no different.

    Aggressive Design
    Inspired by its military origins, 2021 Rush surely comes across as very sharp and intimidating. Highlights such as a muscular fuel tank with its sharp edges and new colours take centre stage.
    The round LED headlamp with intricately designed internals accompanied by bar-end mirrors give it a hint of retro appeal. The beefy fuel tank, a clip-on handlebar and rear-set footpegs provide it with a proper sports bike stance. The sporty appeal is further accentuated by the contrasting yellow highlights all across the bike.

    Another unique highlight is the floating rear section which doubles as a small pillion seat perfect for backrest support and not so much for an actual pillion. The seats are made of Alcantara leather and at 845mm, it is a substantial climb for the rider.
    Other notable highlights include a neatly integrated tail-lamp, golden colour front forks, a belly pan, an underbelly exhaust with quad pipes on full display, a single-sided swingarm and a 200-section rear tyre.
    Features & Electronic Aids
    As far as features go, a new 5.5-inch TFT instrument screen now offers My MV App connectivity and allows riders to adjust settings remotely. Other standard features include Bluetooth connectivity, GPS navigation, mobisat tracker and navigator. However, the highlight is the whole gamut of IMU-based riders aids which includes traction control, wheelie control, cornering ABS, multiple ride models, cruise control, launch control and front lift control.

    Improved Performance & Dynamics
    When it comes to performance, MV Agusta has made a few minor improvements to the bike’s heart. For example, it gets new DLC-coated valve guides that reduce internal friction along with a new camshaft timing which is claimed to improve both low-end and mid-range torque output. As a result, the 998cc, inline four-cylinder engine spits out 205.15 bhp at 13,000rpm and a peak torque of 116.5 Nm at 11,000rpm. The output figures push the hypernaked speedster at a top speed over 300kmph.
    This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox which comes with a revised quick-shifter, called EAS 3.0, for even smoother and more precise gear shifts. The motorcycle employs a CrMo steel tubular trellis frame that is suspended on a fully adjustable Ohlins electronic suspension setup with hydraulic USD forks at front and a single shock absorber at rear.     We already have covered scores of aftermarket modified Royal Enfield motorcycles in the past. We have also discussed why Royal Enfield bikes prove to be fan favourites in the aftermarket industry. So we are going to spare our readers the same old jargon but we have another piece of aftermarket work on a Royal Enfield model.
    This time a Thunderbird has been modified into a savage-looking machine which is reminiscent of the fictional superhero Batman’s ride famously known as Batpod. The motorcycle has been built by Neev Motorcycles which is famous for creating many such outrageous and exotic pieces of work on two-wheelers.

    Completely Revamped Design
    The Delhi-based aftermarket workshop has evidently spent a lot of man-hours and capital on building this motorcycle. Named Godzilla, it certainly looks like a being from another world. As seen in the images, an excess amount of mod jobs have been conducted on this Thunderbird to give it the badass appearance which it boasts. For starters, the most notable highlight is the custom fuel tank which wears the “Godzilla” moniker on its left side.
    The side view shows that the contour of the fuel tank resonates with the custom single-piece seat resembling the flow of a roller-coaster since it abruptly rises to meet the raised rear fender. The rear section gets a unique pointed tail which resembles a shark fin to some extent.

    At front, Neev Motorcycles have made use of a headlight and turn indicators from Bajaj Pulsar NS200. It surprisingly fits well and helps in giving the bike a mean and aggressive look.
    The frame has also been modified to place the seat even lower and attach an extended swingarm. Although Thunderbird is not a full-fledged cruiser, the front suspension has been provided with fork gaiters and additional rake angle to give this modified iteration a bobber look.
    As obvious with a bobber, it rides on very fat rear tyres with a ridiculously thick cross-section wrapped around thin spoked wheels. The front fender has been chopped short while the rear fender has been completely removed.

    Other styling highlights a custom-made straight line handlebar, a short exhaust pipe, forward-set footpegs, a rear tyre hugger housing the number plate holder and a belly pan underneath the engine. There have been few improvements made as far as mechanicals are concerned. For instance, it has been provided with a high-performance air filter which might help it rev higher. All changes incorporated for the new saddle needed a revamped rear suspension unit.
    Thunderbird was offered in two configurations- 350cc and 500cc and was discontinued last year. It has been replaced by Royal Enfield’s latest cruiser Meteor 350 which gets a brand new 350cc engine and a new dual-cradle frame. More
